This is my Official OBF Transformation thread!

Here is a little about me.

I have been fighting this weight for too long and i'm here to kill it! I'm done being the big guy in the group and not being able to do the things that i really want to in life. I really want to be able to play with my son and run around with the kids. I really want to be able to go sky diving but at my weight it isn't going to happen! I really want to be able to go into a job interview and not have to worry about a hopeful employer thinking about my weight and if i can carry it to perform any neccessary tasks and how much i'm going to cost him in healthcare expenses. I really want to be a law enforcement officer but know that i can't do that at my weight. I reall want to be healthy and lead a long life with my family!!!!!

I am here to change my life! I will post my pictures here and I will also be updating them every month. I will take my measurements today and get them on here as well. I will log my workouts here daily and let you know how i'm doing. I will be doing the P90X program and also doing extra cardio. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here are my pics at 5'9" 288.8lbs!!!!!

I'm not sure on which program I'll be doing. I'm undecided on classic or lean. I did classic a few months ago and lost 15lbs in two weeks then fell off. I'm also going to be doing cardio as well (treadmill, stationary bike, recumbent, elliptical, jump rope) so I figure if I do go the classic route I'll still get the cal burn I need. As far as diet I'll be following the nutrition guide with the program. As far as supps I was thinking about Mitotropin and Cytolean V2 but I figured I would just do it naturally until I can't get those last pounds and I don't think I have to worry about that for a while ;)

Good luck in the contest! Just be strong and stick in there.

Many people have reported great results with p90x on this forum.

You have really good reasons to stay motivated. The best advice I can give you is to set a short term goal for this contest that is reasonable. If you're like me it is a certain number of lbs you want to shed by end pictures time. Then set a short term goal like one that you will shoot for in 2 weeks. The key is to make it something reasonable so that you can make it and feel encouraged to set another goal. Looking at your pics you have the kind of bodyframe that I think once you start losing the weight it will be very noticable. Once people start noticing and commenting on your weight loss that really feels good.

You're off to a good start! Let's keep it going!

Thanks! Yeah I would like to set some short term goals but I don't know what kind of loss to expect since I've never gone full force for this long before. I know that I have lost 30lbs in a month twice before but I wasn't this big and that was all I wanted to lose. Anybody have any ideas on some good short term goals?

Everybody is different. Five lbs a week might be hard to maintain unless you are very regimented. After the water weight comes off I myself am shooting for 3 lbs this next week. If I consistently lose 2.5 to 3 lbs a week I should make my goal. I may adjust that as time goes on. I also set goals as to how much cardio I want to do come biking season, or how much I want to increase a max in a certain weight lift. The great thing about goals is they are all yours- just you challenging you.

Well I'll have to think about the goals. As far as nutrition goes I had an omlette with 3 eggs some chicken breast, bell peppers, onion, and cheese. For lunch I had a chicken sandwich from the gas station and for dinner I had two ranchero chicken soft tacos and a grilled steak soft taco from Taco Bell. I know not the best but it was the best at the time. I drank about 150oz of water throughout the say as well. As for the workout, I got the chest and back and abs done and also did some work on the speed bag, treadmill and an hour of intense air hockey! Yeah I said air hockey. Me and my brother have a problem with losing to eachother and one of us ended up with a bloody knuckle and one of us (me) went 2-1-1. Tomorrow is plyo and some more cardio!
