Specifically, about my new powerrack. My gym will be in the basement on concrete. I picked upthe anti-fatigue mats I am sure most of you are familiar with. Do you think i should put the rack on the mats or would it be fine on the concrete? I'll put the mats inside of course and under our spin bike. Thanks.

i use horse stall mats in my garage...they're about 50 each (at most), for a 4'x6'x3/4" heavy slab of rubber...in my area anyway.
if you have a local tractor supply, or any horse tack and feed shop, then you can find them.
i would put soom flooring under the powerrack...that way you can do deadlifts inside the rack without worrying too much about your floor.
Wolf,
I'm getting the same rack you are and will be using the 3/4" thick horse stall mats from Tractor Supply Co. for $37/mat.

Use the rubber mats under everything possible. It's insurance. Cuts down on scratches, scuffs, etc... And, you never know what can happen.

I use the cheap foam mats (I assume this is the same as anti fatigue mats?) down the sides of my rack, and just have the bare concrete inside the rack. The mats stops my plates getting chipped when deadlifting/rowing, works well.
3/4 inch rubber would be nice eventually to line the sides, but it's far from necessary.

I use the cheap foam ones now too. They came with my old half-rack on a Craig's List purchase. I am thinking about getting the horse style mats in the future but these work fine for now.

My rack is in the garage. I just came off a three month run of being unemployeed...once I get everything back up and running smoothly around the house, I plan on just building a lifting platform that the rack will sit on with the rubber mats running along the outside.
Lucky for me, I do have a tractor supply store right up the street :)
I had thought about the cheap mats from target...but I have a feeling they won't last worth a crap and I'd be replacing them sooner than later...

Whoa, don't drop anything heavy on those foam ones or that nice wood floor will be toast underneath.
Foam mats on concrete is a different story on concrete although it's still considerably less than ideal.
