it seriously tastes amazing. so far no weight loss but i don't expect any till i change my diet
Just got home from my Sunday Cardio. 30 mins of eliptical. Machine said I burned 460 calories, I was averarging 190 strides a minute roughly as Iended up with 5600 strides according to the machine, did it on 8 resistance, 8 crossramp. Then I did 30 mins of basketball.
I tried ur recipe but used ON Cake Batter Whey, and dont have almond butter. The kiwi doesnt make it quite as sweet as the strawberries, but pretty good.

Decided to use Lyle McDonald's UD2.0 for this contest, going to see how it goes. Should be hell for the first few days of depletion, but we'll see how it goes.

Seems like a lot of you are right on track!!
I had a very good week eating - I lost more weight than I was hoping for, without even working out (unless you count 20 minutes of walking a day + running after my son). Yay water weight! lol
Next week's goal is to GET TO THE GYM!!! =)

My workouts so far:
5k Saturday morning @ 29 min - first time running 3 miles since getting out of military 3 yrs ago. I was surprised I broke 30 min on a hilly course, especially at 260 :D
Chest Sunday (Max OT)
Bench - 275x3x5
Incline Dumbell - 85x6, 90x6, 95x6
Weighted Dip - 2x45x6
Racquetball for 30 min
Diet has been on point so far. Getting about 2300-2400 cals with 220 grams protein/day

My right shoulder was a little sore from tennnis on Sat morning and then my back workout, so I layed off any direct delt work.

Only gained 1lb yesterday on my cheat day. Ate 800 cals over for the day wasnt too bad. SO that gave me a net loss of 10lbs total for the first week. Im guessing next week will only be about 2 or 3 lbs....

Well eek two starts and yet another work schedule as well! I just got a call for a crazy oppertuity of over time to get there Monday morning and not leave until Tuesday evening at 6pm Im going to have to decline because I know that will knock me off on three days of training!!!! I need to train my run big time!!! Im running out side every day 3miles and sprints! Please see my Log for detailed journal.
Week One 216.8 pound
Week Two 211.8 pound = 5 pound loss
Cheat meal today was Chilis southwest egg rolls and dessert...

hmm trying to figure out thermos n such for this, would like some ppl opinion on it.. what I think I'm going to work with is EC & Animal Cuts, just trying to figure out which when.. Think maybe EC for first 4-6 weeks of my cut, take a 2 week stim break, and finish with Cuts, or use cuts first and finish with EC?
You can always try Adipoxil or TT-33! :D /shill

My cheat today was a skinnyyyyy slice of fresh pizza from Papa Murphys. I do not have weight gain or water gain when I eat their pizzas like I do Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc...I dunno why, perhaps because its a take and bake, it has less sodium???Not sure, but I practiced portion control.I also cut all my days calories today in 1/2, so the pizza probably fit well into my diet today.
My sister also bought a tub of fresh cookie dough from Papa Murphys....I stayed OUT of it and breathed thru my nose when she baked them too!!
Today was a tough day but I got thru it, NO EXCUSES! and you guys can do it too!

Fishing in Port Aransas all weekend. Not very easy to diet and train while you're on a boat all day or at a restaurant on a dock that only serves fried food!

I had a cheat day yesterday... My calories were just a little over but my macro's were totally off... I ate 75% of a pizza :$
I only went up like half a pound on the scale, but I'm not worried about it.. water weight.. it'll be back down tomorrow or the day after.
However I am upset that I forgot my water bottle at home today :(

I use Fitday.com for my nutrition entries. Here are my daily averages for the past week:
Calories: 2255
Pro: 202
Car: 164
Fat: 79
Ave cals burned per day: 2875
However... even though that's an average deficit of almost 600 cals, I haven't lost any more weight!
Still stuck at about 213 lbs.
Therefore, I think I'm not being accurate enough in what I take in or what I'm burning off.
I may have to resort to weighing my food I guess!

I started working on the floor of my living room Saturday ause it was getting weak so I didnt get a planned workout but tearing ooutthe old floor was a great workout. I didnt finish floor till Sunday afternoon and forgot about my usual Sunday morning weigh in. lildude which is in this contest also came over and wanted to workout so we did and had a great workout. I dont have my home gym setup in a good place yet so we worked out on my total gym. I figure hey if it worked for Chuck Norris lol. I actually got it cause I had a rotator cuff injury and after it healed I dont have the range of motion that I used to have and it is helping alot. Anyway before we worked out I weighed and was a little upset cause it said I gained 3 lbs 253 lbs to 256 lbs. I thought about it and
1. I usually weigh first thing in morning
2. I checked body fat and it stayed the same 34 %
so it must have been either a muscle gain or water gain.

I would have to agree with this, when you start accurately weighing everything you may be surprised at how much extra you're actually eating..... did your fitday numbers include any condiments, etc? Often it's those little things that add up and stop you from losing.

I use Fitday.com for my nutrition entries. Here are my daily averages for the past week:
Calories: 2255
Pro: 202
Car: 164
Fat: 79
Ave cals burned per day: 2875
However... even though that's an average deficit of almost 600 cals, I haven't lost any more weight!
Still stuck at about 213 lbs.
Therefore, I think I'm not being accurate enough in what I take in or what I'm burning off.
I may have to resort to weighing my food I guess!
Yeah Im gonna say either you are WAY off on your guestimates for fit day or else you're just in starvation mode. 2200 cals a day at your size is squat! I lost 10lbs this week eating 2300-2800 cals a day and I weigh a lot less then you...

I have some equipment at home. a squat rack, an old cable machine, DB's, BB and a treadmill. But I really miss the gym. I miss the equipment and I really miss having others around me, gets me into that competitive edge type mood that makes me work harder. I live in a small town so the gym we did have closed down and turned into a Zumba studio. :(

I work out at home as well but you've got alot more equipment than I do. All I've got are db's, a barbell, and a bench. Consider yourself lucky. lol

this is awesome advice.
I don't like taking the time to weigh my food out and track the condiments but it makes a HUGE difference. I use cheese everyday and once I started measuring it out, realized how much over I'd been going on it. Steak is the same way, 6 oz was much less than I thought :mad: Olive oil was another one

And I'm going to agree with this weighing & condiment advice. Buying a digital kitchen scale is probably one of the best investments I've ever made. I use it for just about everything (besides items that use ml or fl oz). And condiments, as delicious as they are, can be pure evil on a diet lol... I'm a huge sauce fiend, I had to force myself to cut back/stop. No more bathing chicken in plum sauce :(

I work out at home. This time around I am not spending any useless money. I wasted many years paying gyms and not using them. So now we are converting the garage into a gym. Got the elliptical in there now and the power rack and cable crossover will be here by the end of May. Until then, it's just me and my dumbbells :) But I am just at the very beginning of this workout stuff, so I am in no big hurry. I got enough weight on me to make the most of squats, pushups, etc.
I think I am going to miss the social interraction as well, but not until I feel better about my looks.

Well, i'm still at 222lbs after 5 days so i may grab a food scale as well. I was eating around 1800-1900 calories but that just maybe a little too much for me so i'll try around 1700. :(
*Sigh*...less food makes me feel like i'm on a really diet. Thank goodness for keto cuz i'd really struggle on a carb diet. ( i cheat whenever i'm allowed carbs and calories are restricted)
Workouts have been going strong but i missed my last one due to work and a test for my masters program. I'm going to grab some breakfast and hit the weights.
- What kind of diet is everyone on? Any Keto diets?

Well, i'm still at 222lbs after 5 days so i may grab a food scale as well. I was eating around 1800-1900 calories but that just maybe a little too much for me so i'll try around 1700. :(
*Sigh*...less food makes me feel like i'm on a really diet. Thank goodness for keto cuz i'd really struggle on a carb diet. ( i cheat whenever i'm allowed carbs and calories are restricted)
Workouts have been going strong but i missed my last one due to work and a test for my masters program. I'm going to grab some breakfast and hit the weights.
- What kind of diet is everyone on? Any Keto diets?
I found that when I cook my 2oz of whole wheat pasta, then add a little bacon, green onions, mushrooms, asparagus, tomato and some RF Parm, it fills a nice size bowl up! It's only 300-350 calories and about 50 carbs. Take the tomato out and there's even less. I love my pasta!

And I'm going to agree with this weighing & condiment advice. Buying a digital kitchen scale is probably one of the best investments I've ever made. I use it for just about everything (besides items that use ml or fl oz). And condiments, as delicious as they are, can be pure evil on a diet lol... I'm a huge sauce fiend, I had to force myself to cut back/stop. No more bathing chicken in plum sauce :(
yes, this is soooo true. You might as well have chocolate bar with the macros on some of the condiments out there.
I got a really nice digital scale for really cheap and it's a huge help.

I hear ya! School takes up so much time and it can be hard to workout if you live on campus and have to follow certain gym hours. Luckily for me, I live off campus so its a little easier - the only thing that eats up my time besides class, work, and homework is my terrible commute. I'm in the car for almost two hours a day just to go to and from classes. Good luck finding your balance!! :)

Happy Monday everyone!
Just curious, anyone workout at home?
I workout at home. I prefer the gym cause of the different setups and you dont have to do the upkeep and maintenance on the machines but It got too expensive with that recurring payment and then they added a dance studio and raised membership.
I have an Impex weightlifting machine with 100 lb stack. Not bad for a bigginer but I think I am going to be needing more weight or do lots of reps. I usually use it just for a quick workout.
I have a Total Gym that my wife just had to have but I seem to use it more than she does. It works better than I thought it would but instead of the 20 minute workout they suggest I usually go for about an hour to hour and half. It is really good cause it stretches the muscles while you are working out.
I have a treadmill and a Gazzelle I use for cardio but when I want a real challenge I do run walk intervals outside for about 2 - 3 miles
I also have a few Dumb bells and free weights that I use also.
Most of this stuff I got for presents from inlaws or the church.

I had a cheat day yesterday... My calories were just a little over but my macro's were totally off... I ate 75% of a pizza :$
I only went up like half a pound on the scale, but I'm not worried about it.. water weight.. it'll be back down tomorrow or the day after.
However I am upset that I forgot my water bottle at home today :(

Why do you prefer working out at home?
I used to work at a gym (serious!), and I found that after an 8 hour shift, I did NOT want to be there any longer than I had to.
I realise I could have easily done a set here and there throughout the day, but I was so paranoid that someone would find out that I was probably the most inexperienced personal trainer ever, and it would make it's way back to my boss! haha... :eek:

I've lost about 2 lbs but I can't say for sure until next week. Doing it every other week to adjust for water loss and things like that. Cardio has been good, do 15-20 mins after I lift and then spinning classes on the two days I'm not lifting. I'm sooooo jealous of you all that workout at home, waking up at 4:30 to go to the gym is serious business lol I am starting to get a little stronger already, its been a long time since I lifted weights

Looks like a digi scale is the way to go. I have a traditional scale but never use it. Looks like it's time to trade up!
PS - I've lost 1" on my forearms in one week!! It may not seem like much, but that's such a hard area for me to lose from that I couldn't be happier!

I am encouraged to be benching a little better. I did 155x3 today...which might seem pathetic at my size, but it's the most I've done since I injured my shoulder a couple of years ago, and it was pain free.

Haven't weighed myself yet. No point to, really, after a week. Anything more than 1 or 2 lbs is water weight anyways.
Been doing pretty decent in the gym. Just started coming down with a bad cold/sinus deal, but it didn't slow down my beast chest workout today. Gotta keep on truckin.

Good leg workout today! Did cheat a little on the diet because I had to flavor our chips for a quality check (I work in a potatochip manufacturing plant). It's usually about 100 cal worth of chips.

My PT test is in April apparantly so I really need to focus on my run alot and that means every day. But the war is not through!!!! But any ways Im going to bed and have to be up at 330am and right now its going on 9 do the math ahhhhhhhh

Well I am still sick and it just won't seem to go away. It's starting to get on my nerves. Lol I did start my diet this week which is good! And a bit harder than I was expecting. Lol once I get fully better I will start my hardcore workouts! I can't wait! I've actually already started losing weight just by fixing my diet which is pretty cool! So overall I'm doing ok, I just need to feel better asap. I hope everyone is doing well! =)

nice man, it's hard to quit cold turkey, i recommend buying nicorette gum. it helped me a little, gave me crazy heart burn though.

soooo.. I Just finished the very first stage of my transformation and I have lost 15lbs.!! NOW.... I did treat myself this weekend to multiple glasses of red vino.... eeekkk... So, Im hitting EVERYHTING hard from here on in. I will be increasing my cardio to twice daily and lifting as heavy as I can.... without compromise! Im gettin' er done...woo hoo!!!

Whats up gang. Hopefully everyone is on their way to reaching their goals.
I had a good amount of carbs for dinner last night for the first time in over a month. Felt great when I got to the gym, looked a lot fuller and had some energy.
Tonights dinner:
Chicken breast, red & green peppers, jalapeno's and broccoli. A potato, some cottage cheese and milk. Was delish.
Made enough for 3 meals and cooked up 3 supreme lean beef hamburgers as well

It's good to see so many posted pics and made it through the first week. I always found just making it through the first week of any diet or workout plan is the hardest. After that it starts to become more routine. Not necessarially easier but the first hurdle is always the toughest.

Tired but good, Im more serious now with bb than any other time in my life and i cant wait to see my progress at the end of the contest.

Good Morning everyone.
Woke up this morning to a coffee machine that's broken. Lights on but nothing's happening. Good thing there's a gas station next to my apartment building. I just about cried when there was no coffee waiting for me when i woke up.
Checked weight this morning and it's up 1lb. Not worrying too much because my body looks like it's lost, so i'm not sure what to make of it. Water? Maybe, but i was in the washroom every 30min last night from 5-11 ridding myself of water. That was a little annoying.
Using Double T CreaDyl and i've found some of those little zip lock bags so i can make individual servings and take them with me to work and the gym. Getting the tingle on my neck and face when i drink it. Haven't noticed anything with my lifts but i did notice that my cardio intensity went up. A little too early to tell so hopefully in a week i'll see more of a difference.

I've always told people that the scale doesn't tell the whole story, it's more what you see in the mirror and how you feel. I know for myself that I can fluctuate up to 10lbs in a single day through food intake and water consumption. This is why I prefer to weigh myself only once per week, Saturday mornings at 8am prior to eating or drinking anything, it prevents me from focusing on any one single day.

I don't weigh myself everyday. I'd go nuts if i did. :eek: I pick one day, and one time a week to weigh in. Does it tell me everything? No, absolutely not, but it is noted.
Unfortunately, I like to see numbers. Most people do. It can be difficult to disregard those numbers but it's easier to do so when actual body changes are seen. I'm lucky that i have seen body changes.

Good Morning everyone.
Woke up this morning to a coffee machine that's broken. Lights on but nothing's happening. Good thing there's a gas station next to my apartment building. I just about cried when there was no coffee waiting for me when i woke up.
Checked weight this morning and it's up 1lb. Not worrying too much because my body looks like it's lost, so i'm not sure what to make of it. Water? Maybe, but i was in the washroom every 30min last night from 5-11 ridding myself of water. That was a little annoying.
Using Double T CreaDyl and i've found some of those little zip lock bags so i can make individual servings and take them with me to work and the gym. Getting the tingle on my neck and face when i drink it. Haven't noticed anything with my lifts but i did notice that my cardio intensity went up. A little too early to tell so hopefully in a week i'll see more of a difference.
Well, that could be it right there! Were you using creatine before? The different types of creatine are still a bit of a mystery to me, and CreaDyl says it doesn't cause bloating, but could it be possible it's causing you to retain a tiny bit of water? I've tried different types of creatines and I've noticed that each of them (even the ones that say no bloating!) has caused me to not lose any weight in the first week (or gain a bit), but when I take a week or two break from it after I finish the bottle/tub, the extra bit of weight seems to come off on top of what I would have lost anyway.
I'm not an expert though, so if anyone else wants to chime in..! lol

Not corny at all. When I finished my first 5K last week, I pretty much cried because I felt like I accomplished so much even though it was a relatively short race.

As for me, I had ONE english muffin with coconut oil on it and my reg pro shake mixed with cocoa mix, alive mix, vanilla soy milk and gelatine mix.
I am taking the gelatine joint mix for my knees. I have also been working on leg/muscle strength to help take some work out of my knees to carry me upstairs to the gym- or anywhere for that matter. Its 3 flights of stairs to get to the gym floor. TERRIBLE for people with damaged knees. I just hope I get all this weight off BEFORE permanent damage is done to my knees.

I went out for my first run last night in a while and made it 1.8 miles before stopping. Running is great in that, if you make it past the first 2 weeks or so...your ability to run longer and further skyrockets .

I would bet its the Creadyl if your seeing good changes in the mirror. There was a lady logging it a while back that reported bloating and water retention. Not sure what it would be from in the product, could be the monohydrate

It's good to see so many posted pics and made it through the first week. I always found just making it through the first week of any diet or workout plan is the hardest. After that it starts to become more routine. Not necessarially easier but the first hurdle is always the toughest.

Pool = good idea in general for bad knees. When I tore my MCL, this is where I spent a lot of my rehab work. You can find a lot of ways to use the water for resistance exercises that are pretty easy on the joints.

This for sure - there is a difference being causing bloating and retaining water imo. If you haven't been using a creatine product before it's definitely going to cause some additional water retention.
Also, I definitely understasnd the need to see some numbers but as long as you realize the scale isn't that important. I kind of have the compulsive need to weigh myself everyday too, but I use that scale weight to calculate a weekly average, and the average is the only thing I care about. That, and the most important thing in my eyes, which is my waist measurement, which I only take once a week.

Yes ma'am, I swim often. There is a pool at my gym (which you still have to go up 3 flights of stairs, then down three flights, lol, to get to it. Which is stupid, because I park my car at the door of the pool, but they require that you sign in and go thru the building to get to it.
I also have a free pool 8 miles up the road, but they piss me off. They always have a reason to make you come back later because of weather, or get out and wait for routine pool maintenance, or change which side of the pool you are on for swimming classes, etc. Pain in the butt.

Some gyms just put absolutely no planning into their setup, it makes me wonder who thought up some of the configurations. Certainly not people who work out! lol
The first gym I checked out was the one on my campus, and.. I have NEVER seen this before.. their "weight room" and "cardio room" are on opposite ends of the building! It was like a maze to try and find my way from one to the other.
Then, the second gym I was looking at is in the basement of a mall, and the only entrance to it is a stairwell in the middle of the food court. :o
Have an appointment for a tour of Gym #3 today.

Dude..I get confused by some gym setups as well. Any place that puts the weight room on the 2nd floor and the cardio on the bottom floor just boggles my mind. You'd think with all the weights slamming around upstairs it can't possibly be good for the floor!
Hope everyone is having an awesome Tuesday. :) I've finally managed to bust through my 142.5 lb. plateau (down to 141.8 this AM!) and things are looking great! Plan on getting a run in this afternoon..

I threw out 3/4 of a Chocolate Fudge Cake this morning:eek:... chocolate is my favorite and I just can eat sweets morning, lunch, snack, dinner and souper. yes, my dentist made a fortune off me growing up:p
I have a big sweet tooth, I admit it and I love eating sweets. It makes me happy.
But this morning I weight in at 235.4 lbs and no candy, cake, or food in the world ever made me feel as good as I felt this morning.
I'VE LOST 100 LBS Y'ALL:D:D:D
I wanted to wait till Sunday at weight to make sure and just in case I cheat... but damn it I could not hold it in anymore and the heck with cheating. To motivated now to stop

Yes ma'am, I swim often. There is a pool at my gym (which you still have to go up 3 flights of stairs, then down three flights, lol, to get to it. Which is stupid, because I park my car at the door of the pool, but they require that you sign in and go thru the building to get to it
That's crazy!
If you're going to the gym anyway, definitely try swimming and resistance in the pool. It works! Getting in and out can be a pain, but the results and the decreased stress on the joints is worth it.

That is so me! Glad to see I'm not the only one with the sweets problem! Congrats on conquering sweets and losing weight!!! I've been on a super strict diet for 3 weeks now and I really miss the sweets. I haven't cheated at all, though, even when my boyfriend was eating girl scout cookies in front of me (curse those damn delicious cookies!). Thus I'm on a quest for delicious protein shakes. So far I've found that Nitro Core Sensational Cinnamon Roll, Syntha-6 Vanilla Ice Cream and Syntha-6 Mochaccino are all pretty good.
I'm pretty full up on protein powder for now, but does anyone have some super delicious suggestions for protein powder when I need to buy more? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Well, that could be it right there! Were you using creatine before? The different types of creatine are still a bit of a mystery to me, and CreaDyl says it doesn't cause bloating, but could it be possible it's causing you to retain a tiny bit of water? I've tried different types of creatines and I've noticed that each of them (even the ones that say no bloating!) has caused me to not lose any weight in the first week (or gain a bit), but when I take a week or two break from it after I finish the bottle/tub, the extra bit of weight seems to come off on top of what I would have lost anyway.
I'm not an expert though, so if anyone else wants to chime in..! lol
I would bet its the Creadyl if your seeing good changes in the mirror. There was a lady logging it a while back that reported bloating and water retention. Not sure what it would be from in the product, could be the monohydrate
I suspect you're both right. I didn't even think of that and i should have. I've taken creatine before and that's what usually happens.

This week hasn't started off too well, I have a test today and 2 tests tomorrow, that I have been studying a lot for, which means the gym was sacrificed. It sucked. :(
I'll probably only be able to go on Thursday, but I guess since my body hasn't taken a break in a while, this rest will help.

Good Morning everyone.
Woke up this morning to a coffee machine that's broken. Lights on but nothing's happening. Good thing there's a gas station next to my apartment building. I just about cried when there was no coffee waiting for me when i woke up.
Checked weight this morning and it's up 1lb. Not worrying too much because my body looks like it's lost, so i'm not sure what to make of it. Water? Maybe, but i was in the washroom every 30min last night from 5-11 ridding myself of water. That was a little annoying.
Using Double T CreaDyl and i've found some of those little zip lock bags so i can make individual servings and take them with me to work and the gym. Getting the tingle on my neck and face when i drink it. Haven't noticed anything with my lifts but i did notice that my cardio intensity went up. A little too early to tell so hopefully in a week i'll see more of a difference.
It's the CreaDyl. I'm having the same fluctuations. I'm assured it will level off in another week or so. OMG, I just logged about my tingle experience this morning. Stellar! That's some interesting stuff right there.

It's a right nice lil place, too, our log. We hollowed it out, put up some curtains, and there's even a bbq pit outside. No indoor plumbin' though. We're hardcore. :D (said in best cheesy accent that would be heard in movie remake of Dallas)

only one I buy right now is Xtreme Formulations
the lemonade whey is freakin' amazing :D
then they have UP1.0 and UP2.0, only had the 2.0 and every flavor is awesome.....they have a sale for $80 you get 6 tubs of either strawberry or vanilla...the choco pb in up2.0 is ridiculously good
that about sums up how awesome XF is :)

I also have a free pool 8 miles up the road, but they piss me off. They always have a reason to make you come back later because of weather, or get out and wait for routine pool maintenance, or change which side of the pool you are on for swimming classes, etc. Pain in the butt.
WHY do ya ask?
I actually have bad knees and I water run in the shallow side a lot. It keeps a lot of the weight off my knees, but also provides really good resistance. Apparently a lot of marathon runners also train like that...but I'm not completely sure on that one.
Although not going to lie....the pool that you go to sounds utterly ridiculous...3 up then 3 down??? Thats going to kill your knees before you even get to the pool.

Soda water with a lime...tastes close to a gin and tonic. Plus if you're in a blacklight room, it picks up the light and glows a crazy light green :D
May not be the traditional St. Patty's beer, but it still tastes pretty good.

I just tried Controlled Labs Lemonade Purple Wraath last night and it's probably one of the best lemonade flavored supplements that I've tried. It tastes WAY better then the grape. I highly recommend it along with Purple Intrain.
