Gyro-Pa-Looza '10 was a success! lil bbq party last night to kick off the summer, first time drinkin in a month or so, made some awesome grun n just chilled.. hittin the beach for a bit today then up north for another bbq but keepin diet in check

had a great week of workouts! can't wait to see the scale tomorrow. last week was only down a half a pound! if the weight still isnt down more this week im droppin a carb meal :( haha

Today my brother graduates high school and we have his grad party so it'll be a struggle to be somewhat clean as well.

Sigh, so I ran out of anti-depressants last week, but lost a lot of weight. This made me suspicious, so I did some research, turns out the anti-depressants I am on cause weight gain (though it's not one of the ones where it says that on the leaflet :rolleyes:), and I am on a big dose and I have been on them since the start of this competition. This really REALLY annoys me as I have worked so hard but got not that far and been really angry at myself and now it turns out it's the meds. How depressing... ironically.

It's been a 6 days since nasal surgery and the enforced layoff. My strength held up pretty well and I had no problems breathing!
Still got to work on doing more cardio and tweaking the diet as I'm still at 215.

Hell all, I am still around. I haven't had time to post alot because of the move, packing and everything.
But I have tried my best to reach the gym every time that I could and watch my diet. Basically the goal now is just to maintain my weight till we move for good in 2 weeks and settled in.

Well I must say this past week has been a rough one for me. Dying in the sun for 8 hours a day and eating fast food for lunch because I don't have time in the morning to make lunch. I have been losing weight still though once again, and I also have noticed a change in the mirror and what not.

I know right? I was on them for a while but I was off them and heard about that, asked if there were any that DIDN'T cause weight gain... no such thing I guess. It sucks...

I was told by my doctor when I got on anti-depressants (that I am almost off of completely :D) is that Welbutrin was the best for not gaining weight. How much of that is true, I don't know, but that is what she told me.

Seems like I'm finally caught up...
I went to a real gym and hit some weights today, it was a nice change of pace as a lil final hurrah for myself... ate WAY TOO MUCH CANDY this weekend though... and drank... but now it's clear sailing till the end of the competition. No more cheating at all. Planning to drop 10-15 more pounds (I hope) and hope my skin catches up and lets me see a 6pack lol

That's the one I was on for a while but decided to take myself off.. should've stayed on, but well, I managed to get through that particular rough patch and am avoiding extra meds as best I can right now

I was on a full dose for a year and then a half a dose for 9 months after that. Now I take that half dose every 2nd day. Almost done them completely. I have made some great strides in dealing with some past issues. Hopefully things will just get better and better.

I'm glad to see there's hope afterall :)
So guess what... I got 80 minutes of eating left until surgery. Not allowed after midnight...
I think it's time to bake some chicken and perhaps attempt to make a protein powder brownie...!

really had a bad cheat day, was a family event that started with an all you can eat buffet, i destroyed that bacon tray :D and ended with a trip to Bulk Barn candy store where i tried lots of stuff :( i am not proud of this day =(

I took Celexa for YEARS with NO side effects, not even weight gain and was happy as a dog in heat.
I was told by my doctor when I got on anti-depressants (that I am almost off of completely :D) is that Welbutrin was the best for not gaining weight. How much of that is true, I don't know, but that is what she told me.
I was on welbutrin xl for one week and ended up almost dead, lol, serious I will never touch the stuff again. It was given to me in 2006 to help "turn off the smoking addiction indicators in the brain", so they say...

My fast went well. Back on a regular diet schedule for the rest of the week. So far my plan is cheat Saturdays, and fast Sundays- been fasting for what...6 weeks now? But I am thinking of going the extra mile and doing cheat Sat, fast Sun and zero carbs Mondays.
Whatcha all think of that?
I love asking and getting so many different views. In the long run, I do what I want anyway, lol.

well no change in weight this week. i dont know why. I did a bit more cardio and diet was spot on. I think maybe its time for a cheat meal, get the metabolism going a bit. Havent gone off my diet in a month and that chinese buffet is calling me "STEVEN COME EAT 6 PLATES OF FOOOOODDD"
I am going to drop a carb meal this week and see how it effects my performance in the gym

I really appreciate that, been giving it my all.
Started the weight loss at the beginning of this competition, it sucked soooooo bad the first 2 weeks.....I'd become content with eating McDonald's every day for breakfast :( I just bought the black cats a few days ago, so it can't be those lol I did use a Beast stack the first month (Predator, Creature, and SuperTest) and that worked awesome! By far one of the best I've used. But the diet is the key, I started at 2500 cals, then 2300, now 2100...90% of the foods are "clean".

Ended up travelling around the province for most of the weekend, and although I wasn't able to get in the gym at all, I was able to do quite a bit of hiking, walking, etc, so at least it wasn't an entire waste. I have no illusions about still being able to win this contest after having so many "off" weeks but I will continue to strive towards my goal and will re-double my efforts now that our company is finalling leaving (Wed morning). Besides I have a more important long-term goal now - to get in shape for the wedding!

mmmm.....Id try to avoid anything before the surgery in case you react badly to the anesthesia. I think it would be okay to have the protein shake up until the time you were asked to cut your water.

well chinese buffet today felt good haha. Getting back on diet now, tomorrow I drop a carb meal from my diet. Making an extra 200calories or so off per day.
I took measurements and my waist is down 1.25 inches and hips are down about 1 1/8 inch!

Well after all I realized that I am not going to be placing in this competition but that's alright. I'm actually rather excited to see the results of everyone else who really did keep on track throughout this whole competition. I'm going to keep going after the competition is done just to achieve my goals that I've set and havn't still come close to them.
All next week I will be doing hard landscaping for 8 hours a day in the hot sun once again, well at least T-F. I'm going to be eating at subway, a 6 inch sub for lunch and I'll be having an egg white omelete in the morning before I get out to work.
I think I may be purchasing a couple things from the BB shop for the first time after my next paycheck, mind you they are quite plentiful for an 18 year old who hasn't ever gotten 40 hours a week!
All in all I can't wait to see how far people have gotten and who this year's winner and placers will be! Hope everyone is doing spectacular out there because I know I could be doing better.

happy memorial day guys hopefully everyone can keep the diet strict throughout the entire weekend...i myself DID NOT lol huge cheat day yesterday hot dogs hamburgers cookies pie chili oh my and after all that still came in 2.5 lbs under my weight last week hehe now ill be eating clean until the end of the contest

I went on a nice long 14.5 mile hike yesterday. I burned so many calories that despite having a huge banana split afterward I'm down 1.2 lbs from yesterday and it's not dehydration. I'm now at 150.6 lbs.
Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit sick. Not enough to slow me down, more of just an annoyance.
I don't avoid the system. I have a very good doctor that I use when it's needed (annual phyiscal, things that I would not go to a chiro for, etc).
I started going to a chiro because of a lower back problem that was created, while weight lifting, years ago. I suggested Nikiln go to one because he was complaining about his lower back.
I am a person that will try different things to help with medical situations, but that's me. Everyone has their beliefs on what is good and bad, and they have every right to feel the way they do. If you don't want to go to a chiro, don't go. If you are willing to try one out, go ahead.
That make sense. Research shows they can help lower back pain. Thanks for taking the time to indulge me :)
lol what!? Claiming that chiropractors use "magic energy" and is pseudoscience is a naive claim. There are those that deviate or incorporate "other" forms of supposed healing but to claim the entire industry is that way is preposterous. It is a profession that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. They mainly focus on the spine but that is not the full extent of their involvement.
Now, I don't agree with everything that is involved with it like holism, but only some of them perform all associated practices in their business. My own chiropractor teaches advanced anatomy and physiology at one of the top University's in my state. I've never been sujected to any hocus pocus, but the adjustments have helped my vertebral motility and the stripping out my knees have greatly helped decrease the pain I have associated with them. Just my thoughts...
That's called raike, which is indeed a farce and can be compared to snake oil. The way raike works is if you let your mind slip out of your control, much like how people get hypnotized.
On the contrary, my chiropractor has never said nor even presented anything close to that before, and I've been going to him for the past 5 or so years. The fact that your hips can indeed get out of balance over a long period of time via one leg being even minutely longer than the other, or that all the major bones that keep you upright (thus having minute relationships with one another, but possibly painful if not dealt with over a long period of time) are indeed very real, which can lead to joint pain, back pain, neck pain etc. This can all hinder your well-being, not through energies, but through natural displacement.
I started going to my chiropracter (who I forgot to mention is an ex NCAA wrestler, football player, and currently a bodybuilder) after a really scary football neck/back injury - I couldn't bend over/turn my head in any direction (includes up & down) without naturally tearing up, as well as being diagnosed with chronic bursitis & tendinitis of my knees (genetically bad joints, father had major surgeries on both knees before graduating from high school, and has since had major surgeries on both shoulders which may require surgery again pretty soon). Needless to say I was pain free after 2 appointments, and I haven't looked back. He's helped me out through countless injuries, really fidgety knots, and overall making me feel like a new person every time I leave.
Now I'm not saying there aren't chiropracters out there that preach what you claim they preach, but don't put all chiropracters into the same boat.

Good day all! I have the day off work today not because it's Memorial Day (not celebrated in Canada) but just because I worked on Saturday. Was up at 6am and out by 8am. Had to go out to Mississauga to pick up the DVD from the TV producers. 3 long years and I finally get to see it again. I am going to try and find a way to get it online so I can share it with all of you. Hoping!
Then when I finally got home rested a bit had some lunch while watching the show, then went out to the driving range to hit a few balls. Boy, was I rusty. Had a couple hit 200 yards but not very good all around
Just going to relax now, maybe clean up a bit. Hope everyone is having a great day!

I can at least agree that physical therapy would be much more functional and well rounded feild without the unneccesary "extras". However, a visit to a chiropractor is much more affordable then one to the physical therapist! ;)

Studies have shown that having food in the stomach (no matter the amount) does not have an effect on the incidence of pulmonary aspiration.
Fasting before surgery is mostly one of those "old habits die hard" deals. There are no studies to show that the upsides are worth the downsides, yet it's been around so long its one of those "well it hasn't killed anyone, so let's stick with it" deals.
Though she should keep this in mind:
Even though it's a protein 'shake', being that it's from a dairy source (whey), it will curdle in the stomach (not to the same degree as casein, however), and is treated the same way as solid food.

I'd rather be safe than sorry on the pre-surg fast. Why temp fate? I did not eat for my nasal surgery last week...
So, today I played tennis in the am and went for a 30 min walk around town this afternoon. I'm still hovering around 215, though. With only a month or so left I will try to lose a few pounds.

I'm already home and recovering.. I didn't have any shake, and apparently I wasn't even supposed to be drinking water... or chewing gum... oops?
The reason I was not supposed to is because the anaesthesic interacts badly with stuff in your tum...
I was pretty alright though... I did end up vomitting quick but I don't know if it's because of the water I had or the intense amount of painkillers/pills...
Back from a vacation. Back on track now :p

When I had my appendix removed all I ate was some ice cream (that my mama snuck to me in my pre-op hospital room, lmbo) and I was told not to eat or drink anything but I was stubborn, as usual (whose gonna know attitude) and the anesthetic made me pretty ill and I barfed and they had to suck it out with tubes while I was asleep and I had a burned and sore throat from it. So I dont care what those studies say. Personal experiences are the best teaching tools.

I know you don't care what studies say. This is why every Sunday you "fast" and just drink liquids, then during the week post about eating out. Stong yo-yo metabolism. :rolleyes:

We dont have a Trader Joes but I have a friend that shops there and he gives it a thumbs up. We have a whole foods and buy most of our groceries there. FTW. We have a BJs but I never thought to look there for anything. I figured (with no evidence) that BJs was just like a knock off of the other warehouse clubs and assumed they wouldnt have anything real there, lol, so I guess I will have to go take a look now.

Get it straight dude, what I actually said was So I dont care what those studies say and if I remember correctly-and yes I do remember correctly- I was talking SPECIFICALLY about eating before surgery. Yank! I was NOT talking about studies in general.
In fact I do NOT have a "yo-yo" effect with my metabolism. LMBO. My metabolism is in great condition nor do I never feel the need to binge after a fast.
If I ever posted during the week about eating out, it was to post where I went for my Saturday cheat. I have been out to eat at a restaurant about 4 times since February 17th all on Saturdays except for on Mothers Day and I do not cheat for pagan holidays ONLY on my cheat days.
If you were in this thread more and paying attention you wouldnt get bitch slapped for talking BS. Oh did I say that?

I hope everyone had a good memorial day weekend and stayed on track. I strayed from diet just a little but I did lots of swimming, boating, and tubing to make up for the extra calories. My arms are very burnt tho and not sure how workouts are gonna be with arms hurting this bad.. Glad to see your doing ok beefcake.

Its okay TJ. The weight spike is scary but temporary. Im up 6 pounds at the moment. I had beer at Gators Dockside Saturday night while I was watching the Rishad vs Rampage fight. :(

I wore them in the mid 80s, they are called Rag City Blues. I ran with a pack of mean people, lol, and we all wore them.
Man, if I ever got skinny again, I would so stock up on them and buy a buncha flannel shirts and berkenstocks!
The 3rd pair is a zipper jean that starts from the belly button area and ends at the top of your butt crack, lmbo. If you unzip them all of the way the legs come apart HAHA.

I am still sick myself. Been this way for days now. I still did my cardio, but barely. I had lost my appetite too, but Im not sure if it was from being sick or because the weather has been a hot mama.

Most was diet drinks instead of beer. Looking on the good side of things.

T3's do nothing for me either.. they told me I was going to get Diladin (however its spelled) but my pill bottle says hydromorphone. I've heard of this stuff lol.
I haven't really left the couch since I got home.. so definitely resting up...

Checking in after the long weekend. I stayed home and tiled my kitchen counter tops, lifted weights and built a bench in my dining room. I'm tired off my butt today. The hubby is in Florida scuba diving and spear fishing with the boys so I thought it would be a good time for remodeling. Hanging in there, but need to tighten up on my eating for the last few weeks of the contest.

They weigh people, and the 350 lbers are happy as phuck. Plus if you eat the 6k cal burger they wheelchair u out.

I'd rather be safe than sorry on the pre-surg fast. Why temp fate? I did not eat for my nasal surgery last week...
So, today I played tennis in the am and went for a 30 min walk around town this afternoon. I'm still hovering around 215, though. With only a month or so left I will try to lose a few pounds.

The reason I was not supposed to is because the anaesthesic interacts badly with stuff in your tum...
I was pretty alright though... I did end up vomitting quick but I don't know if it's because of the water I had or the intense amount of painkillers/pills...

My weight is starting to stabalize from my binge weekend! Need to shed like 3 more pounds of water/carbs and work on weight loss again. Think I over did it during camping! :) Going to keep low cals till weekend.

I thought my weight was high before surgery... after surgery, it shot up even more. My diet has been spot on since Sunday though, and I have no doubt that the scale will go back down and stabilize. I'm doubtful about actually getting a 6pk by the end of the OBF contest for a few reasons, but I plan to not cheat at all until the contest is over.
Today is a busy day for me... I have to go to a TV thing for my football team (the team is going to be on the local Breakfast Television!), and a few appointments, so at least I'll be getting out of the house. I gotta take some extra painkillers with me just in case though, I'll be hurtin soon enough lol

got to the gym after work and had awesome cardio session. barely walked out the door.. got home and my son and his girlfriend were in the pool so I jumped in and joined them and they gave me a workout again for about 4 hours. My shoulders are sore today swimming chasing them in the water and spinning them as fast as I could on the floatie was a better workout than goin to the gym and was so fun that I never realized we had been at it fo 4 hours.

I started this contest doing that, well one day on treadmill and one day on road but something happened to the heal of my foot and Dr doesnt see anything wrong, but it feels to me I have a lump at the back of my heal that hurts everytime I run now. I have had 2 DRs look at it and dont see anything and I tell them there is a lump there and they still dont see anything.

As for me, I've been having left lower back pain for a few days. Starting to worry me a bit. I haven't done cardio because of it. I managed to do upper body on Monday and yesterday I spent the whole day getting rid of clothes I don't want/don't fit me anymore. I've also been really tied up in interviews and the whole job search thing. I'm sorry to say that diet has kind of been a mess (not super horrible though). I'm going to get back on the diet that I was on before...the keto stuff was just not for me. And right now my problem is that I can't seem to eat very well if everything isn't planned out in advance. And the weekends haven't been great...so that has to stop. I'm not really up any (3 lbs but pretty sure that's just carb/water weight) but I need to be losing!!
So the new plan is: get back on that diet, do cardio every morning, and switch lifting to high reps/low weight for lower body and high weight/low reps for upper body.

P.S. I wish I would get hired already, this looking for a job business is way more stressful than actually having one!

1st Dr no 2nd Dr was a foot Dr and did MRI said everything is normal but for some reason it hurts and it feels to me there is a lump there. The Dr said it is probably cause I feel the tenderness there and it is my mind telling me its different (lump) there. In other words I was taking it that it is my immagination. I was talking to a fittness trainer about it and they actually watched me for a bit and said it looks like I hit too hard on my heels but when I hurt iit in the first place I was running on my toes. I have a tendancy to do that when I jog I land heel to toe but when I sprint I get up on the ball of my feet more toward toes. LOL I explained that to the trainer and they laughed about it and told me thats not that uncommon. Right now for cardio I use the arc trainer but I remember a few years ago I shed alot of lbs doing HIIT on the treadmill and I want to do it again. I do hit it intense on the arc trainer too tho.

:/ Plus side = at least you're still able to work out on the foot. I hate that Doctor's can make you feel silly about real pain so easily (in my experience anyway).

i am a huge heel striker too. Couple things...have you looked into the couch to 5 k program? was awesome getting me used to running. Also, focus on landing on the balls of your feet for running. Google some vids and you will see. Our body wasnt built to land on the heels. its why those ugly five finger running "shoes" are geting popular. force u to run correctly.

No real updates to report this week, weight loss has been stagnant the past 2 weeks. Reason being is I have increased cals the past 2 weeks to fuel new routine in the gym, 2k cals just wasn't cutting it. Will look to keep leaning out though as contest nears to an end.

I am trying to remain positive, but I am beginning to think that I might have to do something to break out of this soon. I remember feeling like this before I went on anti-depressants, and it is never good.
I will be going to the gym today, and hopefully that will lift my spirits.

Im still up too, TJ. Up 2 pounds. But earlier this week I was up 6, so Im coming down slowly.

I like to do the Arc Trainer on the balls of my feet, it gives a great ankle workout. I stand up on them until I start to feel it in my ankles, then stand back down and repeat that every few minutes.

i think me and my roommate are gonna lift this evening once hes off work though!
everyone is sprinting to the finish...
my weight is getting back to where it was before surgery now it just needs to get down to pre-vacation... and keep droppin lol

must suck beefie..with the leg. im sure in the long term u will be much better off. i got a small taste of how u must feel with my delt and not being able to delt or chest press at all.
trying to work on a short term lift schedule that would add a light squats day, 2nd calves day and also will keep doing another bis day.

Did go to the gym for a chest workout and I actually started to feel strong, so I decided to try my 1RM. Hit a PR with 230.

I don't know why but I am suddenly feeling very... I don't know how to put it. It feels like a huge weight is suddenly on me. My mood is down, my walking is heavy. I just feel like sh*t. I am trying to remain positive, but I am beginning to think that I might have to do something to break out of this soon. I remember feeling like this before I went on anti-depressants, and it is never good.
I will be going to the gym today, and hopefully that will lift my spirits.
I have been there before and going to the gym always makes me feel better. I got so depressed before I quit the fire department I was on, quit working out and crawled into a corner and just sat there and didnt do me any good but bring me down farther(last fall OBF), but I finally said ok and got back into the gym and currently turning this downfall around. Now if I feel down I force myself to go to the gym and I always come out feeling better. Usually starts off feeling like not going to be a good workout, kinda slow but then I really get into it and come out with the best workout ever.
Use my receipe.
5 Egg Whites
2-3 Splenda
1 Banana
1 Cup Rolled Oats
Blend it up.
Make 4 medium pancakes, maybe 5.
Delicious and taste like banana nut bread, srs.
Sounds delicious I am going to have to try that.

Hey George have you noticed my name got moved in behind someones link and not bolded for this week. I was looking for it and didnt see it at first. I thought I was DQ'd or something lol. I want to tell you tho, as others have said, you are doing an awesome job keeping track of all the posts with as many entries as there was.

awesome congrats. I had a shoulder injury from a few years back that I never noticed was hurt till I started to go heavier. I got up to a 1RM of 185 and had to drop back down to 155 working weight. I can lift 155 x 12 no problem but 185 just puts too much strain on shoulder.

sux man, do ur best to keep ur head up...... i understand how u feel, stressed at work, son tried running away, wife and i are pretty much done and i will prob lose my house that i worked 2 jobs for several years for cause i cant afford it alone.
some days its an absolute battle to get out of bed but whats my options....give up? nah...cant keep doing that. there are however times where we need timeouts...short breaks and theres nothing wrong with them. heck thats what refeed weekends are for! :)
i used the gym to release steam and try to maintain some sort of focus. the obf is really helping me with this and these forums. i did turn into a supp junkie, but its keeping me sane ATM so im not knocking it. :)

Just checking in... The stress in my life is still at it's high. I'm not very good at handling stress so I've been slacking the gym a bit. I am gonna go to the gym tonight though and get it started again. I wanna give these last few weeks my all! I hope everyone is doing well and sticking to their goals!

ughhhh woke up an hour late today had to cram everything from my morning in an hour instead of 2 then running around delivering pizzas til 4 then hitting up the gym to get rid of that MDW weight i still have hanging around less than a month away guys lets get it!

i dont like it either. its too chauky for me. what i do love though is some plain vanilla with a scoop of whey in it....yum!

i cant find greek yogurt around here but good to know its chalky and gross lol maybe ill just stick to my normal yogurt :p
I've been on a low carb kick though, tryin to keep them under 50g a day! it's kinda hard to manage that while getting enough fiber lol

I just put up 275 x 5 for my last set yesterday which was a PR, but I had done 6 sets of squats before I started my deads haha :)

haha, im with u...cant be doing the 48 hour refeeds anymore!
lunch today was can of chunk lite tuna, 1tbps mayo, 2 cups salad, 1 fish oil, 2 orange triad multis. got a scoop of whey and a cheese stick rdy for 230ish snack. :)
man, cant believe theres only a month left.
going to implement some more regular cardio again soon and make sure i get my 6th workout day in each week. prob just some LIIS.

Currently my goal is just to go thru the motion of life (really busy, hectic) and just finish this. Basically, still be standing on July 3rd... that is my only goal for now.

So this whole week, my diet and workouts have been on point, EXCEPT for dinner i been eating BBQ Smoked ribs. Is that gonna hold me back big time? Thats my new weakness.

I think this is from a combo of being off a week post-surg and my new split, which I will try to stay with until the end of the contest and the rest of the summer.
It's this:
Day 1:
Shoulders and arms, cardio
then off a day
Day 2:
Legs, abs, cardio
off another day
Day 3:
Chest, Back, Traps, cardio
off 2 days, then repeat
I think this will give me more time for cardio on off days (I can run in the sun or walk around town).

im so outta shape for cardio :( went running downtown today with a friend n she kicked my ass.. was thinkin since she only had an hour for lunch it would be like a 1 or 2 mile jog, but nooooo she has a 4 mile route.. i think i made it 1.5-2 miles of total running (started doing intervals after she left me behind lol then i just turned back)
i need to start runnin more

Re: Greek yogurt being chalky, the only time I had some that was chalky was when I tried Yoplait. According to the ingredients label, I assume it is their regular yogurt with added protein. That wouldn't be authentic Greek yogurt, which is strained for a longer period of time than regular yogurt (thus the increased thickness and higher protein when compared to regular).
OIKOS brand has not been chalky at all. It is rather tart, though. I like the vanilla with Kashi GoLean mixed in it. I also like the blueberry and honey.

Well today i moved up to 50lb dumbbells for the flat bench. Did 3 sets of 8, 6, 5 reps. Felt awesome.
I feel i could move up to 55lbs but i already have a hard time pushing them off myself as i lay down on the bench lol. If i had a spotter to push them off me for the first one i'd be set to move on up.
Diet has been great but i'm starting to crave dirty dirty food. :S My brain is trying to convince me to carb up but i'm still only a few lbs down from my last carb up. I like to lose 5lbs+ from the last before carb up weight before i do another. I'll hold off another couple of days and if i'm still the same weight i'll do a carb up so i have plenty of time to work it off before the end of this contest.

yea, im doing a 5 x 5 routine.
So 1 set was warm ups 135 x 10, then I got into my "heavy" weights. Which is just 225 to parallel lol.

Well today i moved up to 50lb dumbbells for the flat bench. Did 3 sets of 8, 6, 5 reps. Felt awesome.
I feel i could move up to 55lbs but i already have a hard time pushing them off myself as i lay down on the bench lol. If i had a spotter to push them off me for the first one i'd be set to move on up.
Diet has been great but i'm starting to crave dirty dirty food. :S My brain is trying to convince me to carb up but i'm still only a few lbs down from my last carb up. I like to lose 5lbs+ from the last before carb up weight before i do another. I'll hold off another couple of days and if i'm still the same weight i'll do a carb up so i have plenty of time to work it off before the end of this contest.
Great job, youll be surprised how fast you move up. I was doing 50's at the start of the year and now do 90's. Hoping to do 100's soon.

Thanks. I think i started with 35lbs after getting tired of barbell bench and not having a spotter so i coudln't push myself to my max. At 45lbs for the last few weeks. Figured i wanted to try for something more today and looks like i'm good to go. :) 55lbs here i come!
Do you have trouble getting them up on the first one like me? I've watch a guy (bodybuilder getting ready for contest) push it up with his knees as he's laying back which wasn't too bad of idea. Though he was having to push up a lot larger dumbbells than me. lol
Any tips?

something I was taught to help with that is to set up a 2nd bench perpendicular to your bench. Put the dumbbells on that bench as if they were on the rack. Then what you do is take them in your hands with your thighs leaning against the dumbbells and using both your arms and legs slide them onto your thighs as you are sitting on the bench and then use your thighs to heave them into place like you saw that guy do. Made it so much easier to get in position for me.
