Holy Cow in how long? The contest barely started.

2 days lol :D

I only ate 1600 cals yesterday and thats about 1000 under where I should be at(I dont recommend this, but half my daily protein came from leucine so I wasnt worried about catabolism ). Did I mention I did intense morning cardio AND lifted at night?! lol yeah! It caused a dramatic weight drop, 4lbs, a lot of water Im guessing. Had 2475 cals today and Im only 199 right at this moment so I will float another lb or two off by morning. Yeah, so that'll be 7 or 8lbs in the first 3 days.

Im gonna probably lose 10lbs this week. Lets have a 1 week transformation contest!!! :p

If I can give anyone 1 piece of advice it would be this....TRACK YOUR CALS

2) Going to the beach this summer and feeling comfortable taking my shirt off! :)

3) Being healthy for my son so we can play sports together!

So far the diet has been clean and the workouts consistent.

Game on everyone!

Motivation for me:
-> Get below 335 - 100 lbs lost
-> Get below 225 - So leaner than I was all thru high school
-> Get below 200 - Don't even remember being under 200 ever

all that in the next 16 weeks:cool:

So far things are good with me. The weather is getting much better here in NC and with daylight savings time coming this Sunday, running out side will be more enjoyable.

Those of you keeping logs, are you going to post progress pics as you go?

Nice motivation pictures! I don't have any, but when I was a senior in high school, I remember weighing 173 lbs and had my bodyfat measured at 17% My goal for this contest is to get down to around that weight, and hopefully lower bf, as I am much stronger and more muscular than I was then.

ETA - I suppose I'll take monthly pictures as well. I have to say, though, it was a little depressing to lose 20 lbs and still not be able to see much visual difference. At least my pants were looser.

^^^^^This i used to use. But, i dont count calories anymore. I find is a pain in the @$$ to get calories eaten right, the calories burn right, And to top it off u need to keep track of them. I only count the protein and set a goal for the week (like 2Lb). If i eat to much for that week i make it up in the next. If lose too much i eat a little more the next week.

thanks for the info brah!

Well About 2 year i desided to change i was pure fat at 205. For a year i dieted with the help of my mom who was a fitness model long @ss time ago after that year i ended up at 169lb i had great stamina from running. I join the soccer team in which 2 times per week we did serious weight leg training. Then i tore my acl gain about 30lb of fat from a year of not doing anything.

When i fully recover i took weight training a little more seriously i took 6 month after i was clear to play soccer again and the day i did first day of tryout, i tore my meniscus in my other knee. When it happed i did not think much of it. I quit soccer for good. That when i took weight lifting as my only real love. I was able to train with the help of tk band that i had from last injury but my knee started locking up, when it did it kept me from walking for at least 2 week and another 2 week to start squatting without pain (the first day of practice was 2/22/02).

Last November After the 3rd time it lock on my i when to the doc had MRI and show a bucket handle tear. I had the surgery to remove the the meniscus(50%). I had surgery the week before the thxgiving week (dont remember the date at the moment). 5 week after surgery i clear to do what ever i please.

I decide to bulk for 3 month. which im happy i did. because i can start fat for this contest. But that not my motivation. I have short 34 from when i played soccer that needed a belt to keep from falling which im going to use again at the end of the 16 week.

Like my Log "im in it to win it"

and my secret weapons(not so secret any more) I love running and jogging

Sounds good :D I got legs later. 9 sets of squats (ending up in a set of 275 x 20), 30+ sets in total. Going to be brutal.

Also, that's a great thing, when you're bored you can do sprints up and down the stairs. Tis what I used to do :p

My goals is to look as best as possible while cutting getting stronger. I've only cut once in my life, and this time around I'm getting stronger as i'm cutting. Am i doing it wrong? I always read about people losing strength because they are cutting.

I haven't really changed my diet much, but i just added cardio to my workout, and it seems to be working.

I have no weight goal; weight is just a # to me, so as long as i look better than i am now, i'll be happy.

Good morning everyone! Hope you guys are doing great.
So far things are good with me. The weather is getting much better here in NC and with daylight savings time coming this Sunday, running out side will be more enjoyable.

Question...
Those of you keeping logs, are you going to post progress pics as you go?

Just wondering

Jenn

LOL! I'm pretty sure I've gained that much (j/k) I was actually out of town for the last few days, didn't quite get the workouts that I wanted to in and wasn't really 100% on the diet either. Man, I'm already way behind! :( :D Oh well, no biggie, lots of time left, still have to get my starting pics posted though...

Goodness! So far everyone seems to be hitting it hard!! I wish I could say the same. While I have my diet in check, I haven't been able to hit the gym like I have in the past. I'm in my final semester in college which keeps me insanely busy between classes and studying that I hardly even have enough time to eat and sleep! But, after 1pm on Friday I'll be able to start hitting it hard. Can't let the grades suffer!

I'm excited for everyone so far though! You all seem to be doing GREAT! Keep it up! :)

I'm taking photos monthly on the first other wise I won't se changes! As for progrss so far I'm on point with my diet I do however need to cook some healthy recipes. Also I noticed a dramatic change I'm starting to uncounciously stop eatting before I feel stuffed and more food left over each time that's a huge deal for me some beInge how I was raised to eat everything on my plate or the world will starve shoot the world is hungry because ppl eatting to much of others food lol

I think the discussion has been always up for debate, when to do cardio, morning, late, before meal, after meal..

^^honestly i think what matters the most is that you do it. why over complicate things.

for me i like to eat first thing in the morning, if you can stomach the protein first id do that.

Yeah, he is really great about that. I hit the gym at 5 a.m. to lift but I also like to fit something in afterwork as well. However, by then I am usually really tired so it helps ALOT that he says "hey, lets go for our walk" or "wanna hit the pilates tonight?" I usually don't WANT to but since he is asking I always say yes. :) Otherwise, I would probably just call my morning workout good and skip the extra stuff!

I like the idea...but so it doesn't look like begging, I'm only repping people with rep power lower than mine :D

No your not begging at all. Reps are what keep people motivated on here. I rep everyone that is trying to make a difference with their body.....

Well, I guess the good news about hating your before pics is that it will be good motivation to work your butt off. But yeah, I hate my before pics. I've got some decent muscle, I know, but there's a pretty thick layer of fat over the top of them. I have started to see my quads a little, though, so I am encouraged by that.

Good luck to everyone!!

How's everyone doing so far?

Thus far my diet and workouts have been on point and I think a lot of that has to do with knowing I will be putting up the after pics in ~15 weeks and I want to see the change. As do we all :)

Just made dinner too:

A Twist on Chile Rellenos
*2 pablano peppers
*~7oz tilapia (skinless chicken breast/london broil would work nice too)
*spinach
*diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
*1.5 oz goat cheese

1. Roast the Peppers in the oven on broil (rotate periodically)
2. Start cooking lightly seasoned meat (I just used S&P)
3. Add in tomatoes and raw spinach until cooked down
4. Once ovens are "burned" on all sides, take them out and remove skin.
5. Cut open the peppers and remove seeds and rims
6. Put ~1/2 oz of goat cheese in each pepper
7. Sprinkle another 1/2 ounce goat cheese between the two peppers
8. Spread the tilapia (or other meat)/tomato/spinach mixture on top. Fold peppers back on top of themselves and enjoy :)

Evens out to:
CALORIES: 390
FAT: 12.3g
CARB: 19.5g (6g Fiber)
PROTEIN: 51g

Too much inactivity the last 3 yrs after leaving the military, starting a job in the corporate world and having my first child. Time to turn it all around and get back on track.

Simple my starting pics for this contest. Never realized how fat I was until I saw those pictures. I could only imagine what I looked like 20 lbs ago at my heaviest.

On a positive, my watch is no longer blood restricting tight! I got it fixed late last year and it was uncomfortably tight where I wanted to add another link to it. Now its a perfect fit.

Eep! I showed my pictures to my best friend, and we try to be as honest as possible with each other. Her reaction was asking me "Your stomach's not really like that, is it? ... You're like, pushing it out, right?" :o

And then she mentioned something about me still looking pregnant.

Sadly, that actually IS how I look when I'm relaxed. I have just become very good at hiding it throughout the day - well, as much as possible. I'm convinced I have rock hard abs under my gut, cause they've been perpetually flexed for the last 10 years. LOL!

ok today im starting my diet which is the velocity diet (protien shake only diet) for 28 days. i have done it in the past with great results. on this site there is a lot of controversy about it. some people say its unhealthy while some say it is. and they also argue about the other aspects of it like energy levels losing muscle and stuff. so i thought this would be great to start the obf with so people can follow my log and actually get real responces on if it works or not, how u will fell, if u can gain muscle on it. so if u want to know more and see how it goes my log is in my sig. come comment let me know what u think about the diet.

I would say about 1/3 finished last OBF contest... I think for the amount of people we have, I'm looking in the 20-25% range for finishers.

I would say about 1/3 finished last OBF contest... I think for the amount of people we have, I'm looking in the 20-25% range for finishers.

I was one of them that had to make an early exit in the last comp. That was due to some drama that was happening with some family members. Now that that stuff seems to be over I should be able to concentrate on the OBF.

The other thing to consider though is that in the past a great deal of people drop out or get D.Q.'d and that was only a 12 week contest. With this you have an additional 4 weeks to make it. The good thing is there are alot more competitors- especially in the womens category. I truly hope NOBODY drops out cause these OBF contests are such great opportunities to get yourself on track and really make some changes.

This OBF is already starting out alot different from past contests- more competitors which means more opportunities to challenge and push each other- longer time frame which means more chance for stronger transformations. There is always something a little bit different to keep these contests fresh.

hey guys.

just had my free meal for the week which is what i'm suppose to have every week and a 5hr - 1day re-feed sometime during the week as well. I didn't have a re-feed last week but only the free meal.

I'm a little shocked by how hard it was for me to eat this free meal. You'd think i would be happy about it, but it took everything i had to walk into Subway and order a roast beef sandwich. To be honest, i don't like the feeling and i find it strange that i felt this way. I think my head is heading in the wrong direction. It's hard sometimes to find that balance to diet to ED (i've never had) because i wander if this "feeling" is something that is much stronger when dealing with an ED.

Just my thoughts at the moment...

BTW, the sub was awesome!!! yum, yum.

My low carb diet is draining me and voiding excess water in my body I know its a good thing. But it dose drain you bad!!!!!! Not to mention that I found out we have 1600 troops left over in Haiti and I dont know if my man is still over there or not.. I had to change my phone number durring his departure. So thats another mental stress. I keep contemplating if I should even work out today and just go home pick up my house for 30 minuets and go to bed!!! Im so exhausted but I could always pop a pre work out drink, and hit up hard for 45 minuets and jet? Im not sure what Im going to do hmmmm Any thoughts??? Thats your problem right there. You went to Subway for a free meal. Subway is disgusting even when its loaded with the good stuff like Mayo. Go to a nice Italian Restaurant next time, you wont have a hard time eating the food.

Re-check that. There was two different divisions for men. transformation and bulk. More than 10 finished. and of the 10 that did finish the transformation 7 got judges votes so I think we did a little better than you think.

How did you do that? My mom used to by me clothes that were 2-3 times too big and saying that it would make me look slimmer. I actually thought wearing bigger clothes made me look even bigger than I was.

Similar story here... Most of my weight is in my legs/ass, and I've always worn baggy (men's) pants. I just don't feel like I fit right in women's pants (though lately its been getting better..!). Baggy clothes all my life really lol... I have very few "fitted" pieces of clothing.

This week's been a small step backwards for me due to a couple of bad days of overeating. Time to focus!

Earlier a couple of ou guys were talking about "hiding your size" with clothes. I thought it was interesting because one thing that kicked me into gear was that I wear a uniform at work and didn't want to embarrass myself by having to ask the boss to order me bigger pants :p

I'm sorry to hear about your SO!

And I understand the sleep issues. I'm a full time student and work part time, so with work, class, homework, and tutoring I am up at 4:13am (I feel like it gives me that extra 2 minutes to just lay there) and get back to my house either from work or class depending on the day around 7pm.

I know for me I would have a hard time getting a solid workout in after a full day. So I split it up and do cardio for ~hour immediately upon waking and do my lifting on my afternoon break (lunch break for work days and random 2hr class break on class days).

Is there anyway you could scoot to the gym during your lunch hour--and just make sure you have a proper PostWO meal packed?

If not, keep telling yourself how amazing you will look in 16 weeks and how proud we, you, your family, and you man will be of you. That is the best motivation in the world (again for me) is having others notice your change in mood/physical appearance.

You can do it girl!! 45 minutes out of a 24 hour day, you got this :)

Bro, I said some. like 3 of those seriously look like scking in in the After. You lost 15 lbs, no ones hating on you. Good Job.
When I said 10, I was referring to Men's transformation. Since thats the only category that Im focusing on this year, plus there isnt a Mens bulk..

Its weird because I plan to do both over these 105 days...

I plan to drop 20 lbs, then gain 15. Its possible

Not sure whats going on, I went from losing about a pound a day to staying the same weight for 6 days now :( Yes I cheated the weekend, but sheesh...that was 4 days ago!

Any fixes for fat and or water loss plateu's?

I hold some serious water weight, so that is most likely what I lost, and still have plenty more to lose.

I know its not sodium, because I rarely eat meat- maybe once a month, I do not add salt to anything and I dont drink sodas or eat soups and broths, etc.

You can hold water just by being female. It sucks but that's just the way it is. Don't stress too much. Remember to be patient. That's the hardest part about transforming our bodies, we have to wait for it. No immediate gratification.

It sux being female as certain cycles make us doubt what we are doing is sensible or not.

So if I put off stressing now, how long should I wait before I should start stressing? LOL, Im just kidding...

I always read that 1-2 maybe 3 lbs tops for a week otherwise its water and muscle.

You see people on the biggest loser drop 10+ lbs a week consistently. Many are morbidly obese and can drop weight faster but is the majority of that weight water, fat or muscle?

The reason I ask is this week I am looking at 4 lbs possibly and concerned about the quality of the weight loss and will adjust my caloric intake next week.

LOL!

Well the fall contest I was in and I had serious problems going on. My mother in law died in late 2008 and it was very upsetting for whole family, I came down with depression real bad and didnt want to do anythng but crawl in a corner. I was hoping by being in the fall contest that it would bring me out of it but it didnt but at least I tried. I am finding that is my problem tho, dont try at something cause you will most probably quit and fail just go headstrong into it and succeed. I am all better now and ready to do this this time. The weather is nice and I am getting ready to go kick butt in the gym. I am with Ms Tropix no negative comments. This is a new year and a new contest now lets get moving.

There are a lot of exercises you may be able to do right on the couch or in bed that will keep you moving but will also NOT overwhelm you while you rest, use your imagination.

Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water (since you should anyway and because you are sick) and dont cheat while you are sick/recovering. You can get thru this with no regrets or set backs!

That sucks :( a few days shouldnt be too terrible tho. I'm sort of on the same boat, my thesis is due on the 29th of march, so there will be no going to the gym for me until after its handed in. I'm going to have to rely on diet and biking to and from school.

Just went to the store and picked up some bread, tomatoes, heads of lettuce and soy milk. For those of you that dont already know, soy milk has 7g protien in it.

Skim has like 8 or 9g...
I use skim personally. Soy is too sweet for me.

Never really tried soy, does it taste terrible, or something that needs to get use to. my 1% milk, 1 cup has 8.5 grams of proteins!

I really liked the taste of Soy milk, but soy does NOT like me. I have tried it in milk form and soy protein powder and both bloated my stomach like you would not believe. The pain lasted for days. I will never do that again! :p I guess I just don't process it right.

I totally think Almond milk is way better than soy. No lactose..no bloating like soy does to me.. it's soo tasty too! :) Not as much protein, but lower carbs and fats.

I dont do dairy, makes my tummy hurt. I use unsweetened soy. Not sweet at all.

There are a few kinds of soy out there and may all need getting use to for some peeps, but I always liked it from the start. For lactose sensitive people it may be an alternative or for those that want the extra protien they miss from lack of milk.

Its common for people to have an allergy to soy products.

Almond milk is the bomb! Delicious. Got some in the fridge as we speak. I have a friend who makes her own almond milk too (weirdo) lol. Faster and easier to buy it already made- my opinion. Ive lost 14 pounds while using soy, so thankfully, the fats and carbs in it arent keeping me from moving forward in my diet.

What talk about the Fantastic Fall 2009 Contest here was that it was lame contest?

I participated in it and finished it. I did absolutely my best to achieve transformation. I could not have done better. Yet I didn't get any votes. I think I take it more relaxed this time and just do what I can.

I want to get sixpack abs for the summer, that is my main motivation.

Yes relax but be smart by doing what you CAN, as you already said. You know what it takes to finish a contest, so that is good. Glad to have you with us! Good luck to you and your goals for the summer abs and for this competition.

its an asthma medicine that also help breakdown mucus in ur throat and stuff like that. but people on here use it for the ephedrine in it. while doing the EC stack. which u take the primeatene with a caffeine pill and it works wonders on lose weight. but since primatene contains ephedrine in it its behind the counter. and they give u so many problems cuz a lot of druggies get it to make meth since its one of the main ingredients. if u would like to learn more on the EC stack then check out this link:

let me know if u have any more questions

Ohhh okay then, lol, I know what the ephedrine/caffeine stacker is but that word primeatene threw me off. I hope it works for ya, but I cant use it as I am already on a medicine to slow down my heart rate. Mine at rest is about 116-120 per minute. Taking that stuff would finish me off, lol. Thanks for the link and reply though. I appreciate it.

I am a soy drinker myself. I am mildly lactose intolerant, and don't really care for the taste of milk. I use a small amount of skim in my coffee though as everything else I have tired seems to curdle in my coffee and I can't drink it black. :( Someday I will find a solution to that problem!

I also love almond milk and hemp milk was fairly good as well!

Also, I heard drinking too much soy is bad for you, so I try not to over do!

Thanks, good luck to you too!

Participating in my first bodybuilding competition (the OBF one) was a major factor on my stress levels. I guess that is what halted my fat loss, I was so anxiously dieting with low calories. It was good time though, it felt like my life had a meaning for once :)

Also, I heard drinking too much soy is bad for you, so I try not to over do!

Yep I have read that soy can be terrible for our bodies and brain. Like early sexual development in female kids and late development in male kids, also brain cancer is another big one, but I also read that drinking it organic doesnt have these hazards.

There is so much debate about it that I personally just came to the conclusion that if Japan and China, etc. live with soy as a major staple in their households, restaurants, etc...and yet rarely suffer from cancers and live long healthy lives...I am probably going to be fine drinking it.

Oh and what about a non-dairy whipping cream for your coffee?

Sunday at Costco I was eying up all sorts of goodies. Pies, cakes, donuts, muffins, all things that I normally wouldn't want because I don't care for them but knowing that I can't have them for the next few months made me want them! ugh!

there were sooo many yummy items...all in bulk too....oh man, good thing we didn't stay long...hahaha...

Oh, I thought that was for both kinds! I am glad to know that organic soy is ok. And that is true, you never know these days with there being so many different reports though! It can all get very confusing.

Also, I didn't know they had non-dairy whipping cream, but it now makes sense to me now as they have non-dairy creamers at hotels, but they don't seem very natural. I will have to totally check that out, thanks :)

I feel that. I had the day from hell wednesday. 2 exams, 2 quizzes, article & case study due. Haven't been getting shiet for sleep. Got up, tried to lift, gave up after 3 minutes and even struggled to shoot hoops for 45 mins. Took a big nap and hopefully will get 10 hours tonight to catch up a little.

Ha ouch at least you can use that as motivation

I lol'd... :) It's funny how we all feared posting the before pics but we did it and nothing bad happened!

My 5 yr old told me early today "mommy, you don't look as fat as you used to!" yeah, that felt great... *sigh*

motivation for sure!! I lol'd too when she said it. Easier to laugh it off! I'm not really that big, only 16 lbs to my goal weight but I guess the clothing hides the 20 lbs well :). I think we all dread the 'befores'. Too bad we can't post our befores at the end so we have the afters to redeem ourselves.

Great points here, as long as this board depicts support we can ALL make it through no matter what our goals are. Keep is going everyone, this week has been exhausting for me but I have been doing all my workouts. If anyone wants to partner up for support just let me know!

Haha thats the motivation everyone looks for!! I looked at my before pictures and I was like "damn I look disgusting." Ah well the joys of this contest!

But HELL YESSS to letting the transformation begin!! You motivator you!

haha, we can all look at our befores and smile knowing in 16 weeks we'll be so much leaner!

keep your diet on key and rest up!! 3 days will be no problem to make up! :)
