View Full Version : Bench with spotter bars + weights

Hey guys, I was searching through kijiji and stumbled upon this workout set. It's a bench that an go flat/incline, and it has the spotter bars on the side so I can bench and squat by myself which is very helpful and it comes with a bar and 200lbs of weights.

He is asking $200. Is this a good deal?

It doesn't look like it's built to Squat from. Can you try it out before you buy it? With a "standard" weight set, IMO $200 is too much.

^Yeah I agree, it may just be the angle but it looks like it is too skinny to comfortably do squats. Definitely try it out if you can and offer less if you think it will work for you.

It does look narrow for you to try squatting with. Could be the pictures. I'd say at least try it out if it's close by.

The "foot" base of that bench is ridiculous.

Edit: as a matter of fact, it is worse than ridiculous as it looks like it could actually get in the way of proper foot placement. Of course you could lop most of that off with a sawzall.

Now that you mention it.. it does look pretty narrow.

Agreed... didn't notice that until now either. I think I'm going to pass on this now and just wait and find a good deal on a power rack.

I would take a good look at those safety bars if I was you. They look hollow. There are black plastic caps on the end. I saw a unit like this at a local dealer that was York brand. When I mentioned squatting, the guy pointed out that the bars are hollow and it wouldn't take it. This unit looks like the one I saw, could be different but those bars look hollow!

good stuff, i was thinking what the others said, glad u didnt end up with that death trap lol
