Just ordered two tubs of Double-T Sports CreaDyl (once of each flavor) to add to my stack!
I guess now I'll have to log all my workouts in here, and I'll be putting in a few comments about CreaDyl once it arrives and I start taking it.

Ugh... Started feeling sick yesterday, headache got worse throughout the day, woke up around 3am with a quality migraine and puked up the painkillers I tried to take... so today is off work, I'm taking it easy and recovering, and I seem to have lost a lot of weight but I'm assuming its mostly water weight and the fact I didn't eat much since yesterday afternoon...

Soo! I finally got back into lifting after a 2 week or so break. I was planning to start last Friday when the contest began, but my wrist has been giving me serious issues and its only been the past few days since its felt okay.
Since I'm coming off a break & I'm still not 100%, I decided to just have a quick, light workout.
Box Squat
0x10
20x12
40x12
Seated DB Shoulder Press
20x8
25x8
Incline DB Bench Press
25x8
20x8
DB Bentover Rows
25x8
20x8
Ez-bar Curls
20x8
30x8
Later on tonight if I feel energetic I have a few other exercises planned, but at least I got the main lifts done.

So last night's supper I decided I should "carb up" a bit and ate some "cheat foods" so I gained 2lbs over night. I feel good about this.
After work today I think I'll be tossing a football around with a friend and then maybe hitting the weights again with another light session to get myself back on my planned schedule (Mon-Wed-Fri). I decided I need to invest in some more dumbbells for home (heaviest currently: 30lbs; want 40s for chest/shoulders/back) and maybe some larger sized plates. I work out at home mainly so I'm limited by a few things, but I can still get in pretty decent workouts.
That's all for now...
Back later with what really happens.

So after tossing the ball around in the backyard for a while I had another light quick workout in the basement - this time a little heavier than yesterday.
Box Squat
20x15, 40x15, 60x12
Seated DB Shoulder Press
25x10, 25x10
Incline DB Bench Press
30x8, 25x8
DB Bentover Rows
30x10, 25x10
Ez-Bar Curls
30x10
DB Curls (strength test)
20x5
Had some delicious chicken and potatoes after :D

Today's training included 20 minutes of incline walking on my treadmill.
I'm starving, I've barely eaten all day (wake up at 6am to get ready for work, and its now 13 hours later, and I've consumed less than 600 calories - 330 at breakfast (7am), 252 at lunch (12)..)
SO... since I'm sooo low in calories... I'm giving myself a treat tonight (heh heh heh)...
Burger King for dinner!
Fits the macros, and I'll STILL be under my daily cals.
Calorie is a calorie, right?? :P
beefcake66
03-12-2010, 03:59 AM
Burger King became Wendy's and my cals ended up a littttttle over, but it was so nice :)
This morning is my official "1 week" weigh in - 70.0kg on the button, thats 154lbs. I'm 6lbs away from tieing my lowest point in the last 3 years (148lbs). Probably longer than 3 years actually...
Anyways, my goal was to be 70.5kg or less, so first goal has been reached. Yay.
Progress so far:
From BEFORE pictures: -8.36lbs
From Mar 5th (morning): -6.38lbs (week 1 total loss)

I must post in this thread. haha
Glad the weight is coming off. I'm looking forward to my re-feed this weekend. I need it. I didn't have one last weekend so this will be nice.
Can i ask what your diet looks like? You talk about it a little but there's no detail.

That's because its super top secret and I don't want to give any info away :p
...
But in all seriousness, right now I'm just trying to get ~1500 cals a day, typical 40p/40c/20f scheme. I've been using fit day and I have another log on MsTropix's message board (found in her sig) where I show off my fitday information. I suppose I could post all that here too... I'll consider it lol.
Once I get home I'll probably do a little diet update on here, at minimum show how much I ate each day for the past week.

I used to train 6-7 days a week lifting far heavier than that... but it definitely wasn't aiding in the weight loss... so i had to cut back. Lifting only 3 days a week puts a lot less stress on my body I suppose, but, I like lifting every day :(
PR's worth mentioning since my knee injury...
Bench Press - 137x1
Seated DB Shoulder Press - 40lbs x 8
Squat - 115x8 (to at least parallel)
Leg Press - 6 plates x 10 (I'll double check the numbers on this)
Assisted Wide Grip Pullup - 85lb offset x 6 (also needs checking.. its all written down at home)
Assisted Dips - 40lb offset x4
Deadlift - 220x4, 235x1
Back in November I had some tryouts for the national football team, I couldn't do all the speed/jumping drills, but I did do the situp and pushup portion... both PR's by a lot.
Pushups - 21 in 1 minute (haha... that was a one time thing... I can barely do 5 right now)
Situps - 42 in 1 minute
I fully expect my strength to drop off as I'm losing weight, but I'm hoping that if I reach my desired look before the end of the contest, I can begin "Bulking" (the thought of bulking in itself is very exciting) and pass those numbers :D

Perhaps because when you were training 6-7 days you were training for muscle not fat/weight loss.
I read that you were a football player. You definitely have some great strength. Can't wait to see what happens when the bulking begins either! :)

lol, my training buddy is currently away in afghanistan, and he told me that he expects me to be pressing 65lb DB's by the time he gets back... So i got a lot of work cut out for myself come bulking time :P
i bet he'll just be shocked that I'm skinny when he gets back :P
thanks for all the comments brian, it really does help the motivation (and ego.. hah) :)

See you are taking GABA. Have you noticed any results? I researched it a while back but never ended up trying it.

I've only been taking it for a week, and I started it again the same time as I started the ZMA (I took ZMA before about a year ago). I was hoping that the pair would aid in sleep quality and lowering stress and such... I can't really comment on how well it's working out for me at this point in time. But after another week or so I'll reevaluate and let ya know.

I've sworn myself off liquor for this challenge, HOWEVER I have told my good friend that if I reach certain goals by certain dates, I will drink with her (like, originally it was if i was 155 by her birthday which was going to be this weekend, but now its next weekend so i told her 150lbs). I probably won't drink anyways (she won't force me i hope) because I'm pretty sure I've finally convinced her how detrimental alcohol intake is to weight loss. She usually comes back with the "ohh its just 1 night!" and well... you all know how it goes. Alcohol = loads of empty poison calories + MUNCHIES...
That vodka+xtend is sooo intriguing though.... heheh!
PS kudostojen I got your email, shot you back a thanks.

Oh and I'm supposed to lift some weights today, but I'm DEADLY tired....
I also have coffee plans with a friend... so if she gets back to me with a time that's relatively soon I'll have to either do my workout later or tomorrow (which isn't a big issue on a 3x/wk exercise plan).
Chances are I won't hear a peep anytime soon so off to the basement with me!
EDIT: ughh... its been a lil over an hour since i posted this.. i still havent gotten to the basement.. im sooo DRAINED... tired... today at work just sucked the rest of my soul out... i was so motivated to get sh*t done while i was at work, but around 330 (45 minutes before i get to leave) my energy just completely dropped off and i feel miserable and super tired... i really just want to go to sleep... but i shouldnt. I should at least do some exercise. If not the weights, then cardio...
Trying to get my super tired butt off the couch and go get er done....
Thinking about what to have for supper.... leaning towards swiss chalet.... lol
beefcake66
03-12-2010, 03:17 PM
ok... so i managed to force myself to do 30 minutes of extremely boring and ass-pain-inducing LISS cardio on my stationary bike... not feeling much better, still on the down and tired side, so im just flakin out at my computer, waitin to see if my coffee date gets back to me, and a friend is on the way over to visit. oy.
sittin at around 1100 cals so far for the day... still deciding on supper... and still leaning towards swiss chalet lol

So I thought I would take one of my waist measurements again. I know it's only been a week but seriously feeling like the weight is melting off... so I did it.
On March 4th: Waist (belly button): 38.125"
On March 13th: Waist (belly button): 36.75"
Apparently I've lost over an inch on one of my most visible fat stores! THAT'S AWESOME!
I didn't know it could disappear that fast.... Maybe I was retaining a lot of water?

Though honestly I didn't think it was normal to shrink that fast?

You can shrink quickly.
I was posting in another thread about the "whooshing" of fat. People always say that the fat is squishy before the whoosh, but i like to say that it's less dense (fat is already squishy). That's how mine's been feeling for the last week, less dense. :D
Here's something for you to keep in mind. I can clearly feel the top 2 ab muscles when i run my hand across my stomach. There's a major indent between the two muscle when i lightly flex them so there. :p
beefcake66
03-13-2010, 08:46 AM
Oh I know all about the whooshes, thats the article that i *forced* MsTropix to read :p
Mine kind of feels like its compacted and more firm!
But turning "fluffy" and "marbly" again... which is good lol
I can make out the shape of my abs... I know they're there... but theres anywhere from 1/2 to 2inches of fat over them all lol
At least my tum overhang shrunk a lil :D

Quick update from the weekend -
I slacked off exercising, and I did a lot of yardwork at home. It's becoming spring and I have HUGE hedges in my hard that I had to cut down, plus raking leaves, and all that stuff that's just messy after a long messy winter.
Sunday morning my weight was down to a new recent low (69.2kg/152.24lbs) so I told myself if I was good and didn't cheat most of the day I would reward myself with a pizza... cause they're on sale for 5$ at the grocery store lol... so that's what I did. Got the last quarter here for Lunch today (and sadly missed breakfast cause I was running really late this morning).
I need to force myself to lift tonight... I must get back on track with the exercising routine! It's going to be a busy week so I gotta be careful to keep my energy up. I may have to up my food intake... Or just suck it up and deal with it like I have been.
Let's see how it all plays out...

Hey - yardwork IS exercising! Especially when it comes to raking leaves, gardening, stuff like that.. It's tough work! :)
Good luck this week - sounds like you have a lot going on but try your best to squeeze those workouts in. Even if you can only go for 15 or 20 mins, it's better than nothing!

Soo my plans to lift tonight might not actually happen... its my good friends birthday (and i totally was reminded by her... im such a bad friend). I'm going to end up having a cheat supper (icecream cake & nachos) and probably not going to have time to hit the weights but I'm gonna do my best to get in at least a quick session this evening. I don't like working out too close to bedtime but I guess if it happens I'll just have to super exhaust myself!

I know its your friends b-day and all but why do you HAVE to cheat! Couldn't you have something other than nachos and maybe a very small piece of ice cream cake. How bad do you want this for yourself? :)

Trust me it won't be a bad cheat - I'm tryin to fit in my cals and macros, but I know the carbs are going to be a little high and the protein might be a little low. I'm gonna do my damndest to not go over 1600 cals. And if I'm unsuccessful at this and end up gaining some weight, tomorrow will be cardio punishment day.
EDIT: Or tonight might be cardio punishment if I get in my weightlifting. Plus, it's really not a good excuse or anything, I'm going to give my "Cheater's Relief" pills a try.

Yesterday's Damage
Calories: 1932
Fat: 82.6g (ouch)
Carbs 181.3g
Protein: 110g
Reasons:
1) No ground turkey available at the grocery store. Bought Extra Lean Ground Beef instead... Not very lean (came with nutritional info, 10g fat in 100g of beef)
2)Planned to get an Log Icecream cake, where one serving is closer to 300 calories. DQ had none left... so I got a Blizzard Cake... which is closer to 600 cal/serving. Ouch.
Could've would've should've... That's what happened. I took my cheater's relief pills and I'm awaiting terrible consequences to happen to me today.
The Pro's
1) I was still below my maintenance!
2) I actually feel GOOD today... I woke up feeling like I actually had a good meal last night (which I did). I didn't wake up starving or feeling like poop, and I won't be running solely off stimulents today.
Even so...
PENALTIES!!!
1) This morning: 30 minutes of fairly high intensity Cardio!
--- Woke up early (540am) and got on the stationary bike, did the first 15 minutes at ~150bpm (~76% of estimated MHR), and then I started amping it up, so for the last 10 minutes I was doing 180bpm+ (~92% estimated MHR). I measuremed myself at 189bpm(96%) at one point, and I may have skipped a few beats cause it's hard to count, watch the seconds on a clock, and keep pedalling, all at entirely different paces lol.
2) I WILL HIT THE WEIGHTS TONIGHT!
3) Post-weightlifting Cardio, in the range of 20-45 minutes. TBD.
I think that seems fair.
I didn't do my weights last night because I took way too long getting groceries (took me until 530ish) and then I spent a long ass time cooking everything. Then sat down and by the time we finished eating it was around 9pm, and that's my bedtime. I figured this might happen.
I also haven't been taking my GABA or ZMA because by the end of the day I'm so sick of taking pills I think I subconsciously erase them from my mind. Terrible excuse I know. But I will start again tonight and I will be sure to note how I feel on them.

Yes, MIIT is for medium intensity. My heart rate doesn't get too high nor am i pushing that hard. Actually, I've upped my intensity twice in the last two weeks on cardio and i still can't get my heart rate as high as i used to.
Bad girl. Ice cream? Ice cream should be a no-no unless it's a free meal or a free day. Too many empty cals and lots of sugar. I had ice cream on saturday night (DQ blizzard) and my system was still feeling it yesterday. ughh. I won't be doing that again for a while. lol
What is GABA and ZMA? Also, have you ever thought about taking ALA? It's scientifically proven to help regulate blood sugar plus there's a tonne of other benefits.

I figured this might happen.
.
See I would think waking up at 5:40 would be punishment enough :P
I hope you at least enjoyed every mouthful of that DQ cake. mmmm My favorite!

It's pretty easy for me to get my heart rate to 180... Hitting 150 is just a matter of putting the bike resistance on medium-low (3 out of 7) and pedalling at a decent speed.... it takes a little effort to get it over 190, but its totally possible. I have very poor conditioning. I used to do circuit training a few years back with my football team (when i was 21) and I had a heart rate monitor (watch & chest strap) and I've seen it go over 200 a few times... I think 214 might've been the highest.
It was my good friends birthday yesterday so I had to get her cake and she would have been quite offended if I didn't eat some with her I think lol, not that I mind, I know it's empty cals but I've been pretty good despite my food choices. I weighed in 1kg higher than usual this morning but I'm pretty sure it's just water weight. I'm taking care of that today though... its been less than 5 hours since I woke up and I'm almost done my 10th cup of water.... oh gosh lol.
And ALA is that Alpha Lineolic Acid? I've seen it around and such, but I've never really looked into it before. I suppose I'll research it a bit today and decide whether or not I want to take it (I probably will, it's just a matter of affording it).
See I would think waking up at 5:40 would be punishment enough :P

I used to wake up at 5am every morning to get in 30-45 minutes of cardio, and some days I woke up at 4am to get in weight training and cardio... That was last summer when I was trying REALLY HARD (too hard...) to lose weight and stuff... 540 is still pretty easy for me thankfully lol.

And because I'm forgetful and only have so much time to squirt out as much reply as I can in any one sitting:
ZMA is like a patented mixture of Zinc and Magnesium with a vitamin (which i currently forget - I could guess A from the name of it) to help with the absorption... It's mainly known as a test booster, but it's not JUST that... it also can help with sleep and recovery, which is why I'm taking it. It's totally safe for women.
EDIT: I was wrong, vitamin B-6. More info: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/zma.html
GABA is something whose full name I currently forget, but its found in a few of those PM fat burners/recovery pills, its supposed to boost growth hormone, and also promotes recovery and sleep quality. Which is why I'm taking it. The two together are my "bedtime stack" when I remember to take them. I'm going to make sure I take them tonight.. MAKE SURE! TOTALLY! NO FORGETTING YOU SILLY BEEFCAKE!
EDIT: GABA=Gamma-Aminobutryic Acid; Information: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/gaba.html
And yes, I loved every frigging bite of that icecream cake. It was a Crispy Crunch Blizzard cake. I tasted a bit of banana flavored filling of some type in there, which is odd but acceptable. And the crunchy cookie bites and fudge in the middle, as always, were to die for. I just have to keep myself from attacking the rest of the cake in my freezer... we only had 1/8th each... so theres 75% waiting to be devoured....

Yes, ALA is Alpha Lipoic Acid. Definitely do some research on it. It's a really powerful antioxidant and will actually recycle other antioxidants.
I bet that ice cream was good. ;)
I've got something going on with my stomach the last few days. Not sure if it's the CreaDyl or my new ON Whey. I will need to figure it out but because i started both around the same time it's hard to tell. I don't like it though.

I've been avoiding my protein powder (Syntrax Nectar Lemon Tea) lately for the exact same reason... It's been turning my stomach everytime I have some. I don't know if its because my stomach is always brutally empty when I actually get around to drinking it, or if its gone bad somehow, or something else...

Yes, protein is pretty low.
Yes, everything's all over the place.
There are reasons for that.
I should also mention that most of those days are bad flukes (esp 14 and 15), and only yesterday is an actually good representation of what my diet is usually like. New protein powder will get the protein back up to where it's supposed to be, and there's room in the carb category to allow for my CreaDyl once it gets here........
I may throw in little cal updates like this from now on... I'll see how pretty I can make it as I go lol
Tomorrow I'm buying new protein powder because of how I've been feeling about my Nectar lately (it's payday tomorrow).
Hoping my CreaDyl finally makes it but I'm kinda doubting it made it's way through customs yet :(
I did the quickest little weight workout ever... A few DB squat + shoulder press complexes, followed by pushups, which kick my ass worse than anything else. I really don't like doing pushups. I'm working on it though... I'm kinda top heavy I guess... arms turn to jelly super fast. No matter what way I do them! (except "diamond" pushups those are a little worse). I wasn't going to end up doing them but I kept whining about how I should go do SOMETHING and my friend was just like... just go do something quick. So I did everything in quick circuitlike fashion. HR got up pretty good for the whole 5 minutes I was down there... a Little is better than nothing right? -_-
Now I'm going to go take my ZMA and GABA before I forget, cause I'm on the way to bed. zonked!

Well today at work with my loads of spare time I made up a little menu plan for myself. It's going to make dieting wayyy easier! I made up the 3 basic breakfasts I always eat, figured out amounts to get it all to the right macros/cals, and then made a "mix and match" of lunch/dinner items so I can just grab a carb, a protein, and a condiment (if i want), knowing exactly how much of each I will require... Nice!

Yesterday I also copied down the weakest path from the hundredpushups.com site.. and started it this morning.
Woke up at 530am (uggggggh) after having a crappy sleep filled with crappier dreams (double uggghhh)... It's also the second night I remembered to take the ZMA&GABA combo in a row, and I've had weird ass dreams both nights... coincidence? Only time will tell lol..
This morning: 20 minutes of very LISS cardio (HR probably didn't reach 150, if I pushed any harder I would have begun sweating though), followed by day 1 of the hundredpushups challenge...
Yesterday I had an old roommate move back in, so there's kitties in my house again (MY KITTY!! SHE's BACK!!). It's kinda nice, but now I gotta kitty-proof the place a bit :S
Anyways I gotta get a shower and get ready for work, then I'll probably be lurking the forums all day from work lol...

I think the combo is supposed to help sleep quality so it probably puts you in REM sleep longer, giving you more intense dreams perhaps. I really have to try it! My sleep patterns stink :(

That's the main reason that I'm taking the two supplements (sleep quality), but as of right now, while taking note of how I've slept the past 2 nights that I've taken them, I can't say that its helping. The dreams I have I wouldn't exact call "vivid" as much as "disturbing", and I don't usually have dreams that I remember. I wake up about 4-5 hours after originally going to sleep ready to get up, but its still 3-4 hours before my alarm is set to go off, and then I can never fully get back to sleep (I think this is the time where the dreams come in the most), and I end up wanting to sleep in past the alarm clock (like snooze x4) and wake up cranky and feeling very tired and not refreshed at all. I figure I should give it a good 2 weeks or more before I say that the supps are messing me up, but I've had better drunken sleeps than I've had the past 2 nights.... Hoping it gets better in time. I'll keep taking them, especially since I'm going to start hitting the weights really hard again soon and I'll be needing the aided recovery.

The Results Are In:
My ACL is completely torn. Totally gone. And my Meniscus is likely torn, the Orthopedic guy said that he couldn't see anything, but the radiologists are trained to do exactly that and they said they saw something. Surgery is scheduled for May 24, which is during this contest... There may be some ugly marks on my leg and crutches involved in my After pictures, but I plan to finish the competition.
I'm pretty sad/depressed/upset about this... Like, it's nothing that I didn't expect to hear, I knew my ACL was torn and it's been bugging the hell out of me, but it's still upsetting. I kinda wanna spend the day drinking my caffeine free diet pepsi and crying. But I got stuff to do.

Friday I bought a Polar F4 Heart Rate Monitor watch to monitor my HR during my exercise and most importantly (to me) to calculate how many calories I'm burning during the day. I had a different type (lesser brand/quality) of HR Watch I used to use but the watch clasp broke a long time ago, but the HR Strap still worked for my Treadmill and when I used to use cardio equipment at the gym. I'm going to learn how to connect it to my computer and save all the data I put in it. It should be an interesting tool to have around. I also purchased the highest resistance band I could find. It's almost strong enough to assist me to do pullups, so very soon I expect to be doing a few sets with it.
Here's a mini diet update for the past few days... and well, it's been dirty and rough.

Mar 20 - BIG CHEAT DAY
Calories: 2388
Fat: 76.2g (29%)
Carbs: 338.6g (56%)
Protein: 91.9g (15%)
I was starving all week and had absolutely no energy, but holy crap, did yesterday really help. I did a fair bit of yard work yesterday as well (after eating most nom nom nom) so I only came out 138 cals over what I burnt (RMR+Yardwork). It allowed me the energy (and motivation, hah!) to do this workout today:
60min LISS Stationary Biking (HR ~140bpm)
Pushups - Following the 100 pushups program
3, 4, 2, 3, 5
Deadlifts - I didn't go all the way to the ground like I usually do, they were still proper deadlifts, but I only brought the bar just past my knees.
70x10
90x10
110x10
DB Standing Shoulder Press
20x8
25x6
30x4 (I felt my form dying)
Box Squat - I filled my cooler up with 50lbs of weights today for an added degree of safeness.
20x20
40x20
60x12 - and every set burnnnnnnsssssss
Neutral Grip Negative Pullups
4, 3
Chinup Partials - 3 - unassisted. Only about 2 inches of movement though. I was just excited I didn't start falling down into a negative once i took my weight off the box!
EzBar Curls
30x12
35x10
Leaning Lateral Raises
10x10
5x20 (left arm almost didnt make it)
Sooo that's what I've been up to. I still haven't received my CreaDyl, I'm getting a little cranky about it, and I haven't even received a tracking number from canada post or whatever it was (I was told I should receive one or at least some word of my package once it enters the country).
So far today all I've consumed is some water and a Protein shake, but I'm feeling pretty content! I'm going to have some delicious hamburger & potato with tomato soup tonight I think and it's going to be awesome :D
and now... off to do more yardwork!! and laundry... and dishes... .... and cleaning.... ... ugh -_- being a homeowner sucks! I couldn't imagine having kids to take care of too. Props to you ladies. It's hard enough to take proper care of myself lol.

Log is looking good!
Wendy's is my favourite for fast food cheats, if we're talking about macros (otherwise.. BK original chicken.. *drool*). Wendy's burgers have pretty good macros (considering) and I feel a bit proud of myself for ordering chili instead of fries - cause it's yum and their fries sorta suck anyway. Mmm.. maybe next week. :D
I haven't got my bb.com order either, and the tracking is weird too! Usually I know exactly where it is within a day or two. I ordered my stuff last Sunday, you? (ok.. lots of unintentional rhyming going on).

Care to share what you had on your cheat day? It's seems to have helped with your energy level.
By the way, don't you think your calories are a bit to low? The 1400 I agree with but the 1000? Maybe that is why you were tired and low in energy during the week.

I ordered mine March 8th... 2 weeks ago... I hope it arrives tomorrow...
Everything is looking good!
Care to share what you had on your cheat day? It's seems to have helped with your energy level.
By the way, don't you think your calories are a bit to low? The 1400 I agree with but the 1000? Maybe that is why you were tired and low in energy during the week.
First the calories... I aim for 1500 but sometimes it just doesn't happen... I'm sure I was always tired cause I wasn't taking in enough calories, but when I'm at work I eat what I prepare for myself and that usually sets me up for 750-900 of my days calories, and then I get home and I'm either too lazy to cook or just don't feel like doing -anything- so I just end up going to bed with a tiny bit of food. It's easier for me if I make something snack-like to have for supper (like a pile of taco meat and a few nachos to scoop it up with). I gotta work on that.
And what I had on my cheat day...
It began with a feast out on the deck in the sun (which was actually warm! it was nearly summer weather!! exciting!)
150g of extra lean ground beef mixed in 1 can of no name Alphaghetti's (half eaten later), A couple cups of strawberries (280ish grams), 1pc of Sushi Inari (from a 4pc Bento Noveau sushi pack at the grocery store), and a serving of these new pita chips I found, with 2tbsp of roasted garlic hummus.
IT WAS AWESOME
Later on closer to bedtime I still felt like eating, so I had 2 more servings of those pita chips and another serving or 2 of hummus, and then an entire small pack of bagel bites (9pcs). They were soooooooooooooooooooooo good.... *drools*
I think I also finished off the rest of the icecream cake (1/16, so half a slice) and since I was craving chocolate so bad my friend found 2 small sized reeses peanut butter cups for me...
It was so nice to feel FULL for a change, and the carb-guilt I acquired went to fuel my workout today lol (and actually make me work out).

Ok, we definitely need to work on making sure that you get your calories in then. What do you think you can do differnet to make sure you get those 1,500 calories in on a regular?
One idea I have in mind it maybe making sure you eat more thru the day while at work and only leave let's say 200 or so calories worth of food for you too eat at the end of the day. Something like a snackt hat is easy to eat before you get in bed.
And mmmmm:p:p about the cheat!

Yea, I was thinking of upping my lunch and breakfast calories a bit. I try not to snack during the day because I know for a fact I'll pick something terrible (like a chocolate bar), and once I get candy in me its hard to stop... carb/sugar addict right here lol... I got some protein in containers at work ready to be used if required, which I should really start using. Also sometimes I'll make a PB protein shake at home and bring it to work... I had terrible natural PB for a while that didn't blend at all so I stopped making them...
Tomorrow morning I'm planning on waking up early to hit the exercise bike again, and do some pushups, so it'll probably spike my hunger a bit. Maybe I'll let myself have some more rice krispies than usual lol.
I'll figure it out. I think it's mostly okay that I have a few low calorie days, especially cause I tend to binge eat when left unchecked. Like, look at saturday's calories. 2300, thats 800 over what i should eat, and pretty much brings the weekly total into acceptable range. Yea, it's not a good point to argue. I'm going to work on making my breakfast and lunch closer to 500 calories a piece, and then make sure I have some supper. My supplements are included in my total calories too...

Here's today's diet breakdown:
March 21
Calories: 1379
Fat: 37.9g (24%)
Carbs: 140.9g (41%)
Protein: 120.5g (35%)
I'm happy with this. As long as I get over 1200 cals and under 1600 I'm feeling pretty alright with what I'm doing. Today was a good day... Only 2 meals (I like to sleep in on weekends).
Woke up, did my cardio and weight workout while sipping on xtend, had a post workout shake, did some yard work, ate fake potatoes (the real ones went bad :() with hamburger and tomato soup, watched that "Unbelieveable Video" posted in the losing fat section (about Stuart and his "I want to look like that guy" documentary), and just now I had a bowl of mini wheats with half a cup of milk and a scoop of protein powder. It was pretty delicious :D

Finished off my box of Multigrain Rice Krispies today (:() and that was 1.42 servings... so total cals for breakfast today was 430 (as compared to normal which is 380ish). For lunch I made 3tbsp of basmati rice (0.75 serving) and 2 mandarin chicken breasts, along with some extra sauce cause I kind of over-cook my chicken and the sauce runs off and turns crispy on the pan haha... so that's 406 cals, instead of my usual 2tbsp rice & 1 chicken breast (191-231 cals regularily). So there's an improvement. I forgot to bring a peach but I'll probably eat one as soon as I get home from work. I haven't decided if I'm going to lift today, I did yesterday, and I did 30 minutes of cardio this morning. I'm also up in weight but I did have a bit more carbs than usual over the weekend, so I'm not too worried about it. All is going smoothly... if only my CreaDyl would show up!

Oh and I have to make a little edit.
Later the day of my appointment the dr's office called me to tell me that they had to change the date of my surgery because they booked it in on a holiday (Victoria Day here in Canada)... haha... So it's now on May 31st. Which is exactly 4 weeks before the official end of the contest (June 27 I believe?). I may try to take all that time off of work, I'm not sure how long I'm actually going to be required to take off, but I know it's going to be a huge hassle getting around for at least a few months... :(

Training:
Abs and... forearms?
So my roommate wanted to work out today, and since my chest/armpits and lats are effing SORE from yesterday (pushups & pullups), I decided I would do some ab work.
So, things started out smoothly, but then... I had to show her some exercises. "How do you work that muscle?" ... "What about this one??"... "What's this muscle??" ... "I want these to get bigger"...
So I showed her Wrist Extensions, Wrist Curls, Hammer Curls and Standing overhead tricep extensions.... lol
Anyways, this is how it all went down, in order:
Weighted Situps
0lbsx10
10x10
20x10
30x9 (OH GOD IT BURNS!)
--I have an old 4ft 10lb barbell that I use for these. I get in the typical situp position lying down, place the bar across my shoulders and hold it as if I were doing a front squat. Elbows to knees.
Bicycle
7
I just wasn't feeling it...
Figure 8s
4lb Med Ball x 30
It just wasn't as awesome as it used to be... I think I need to relearn how to do abs, or get heavier stuff to play with. I got an 8lb med ball I was gonna use, but this is where I got interrupted hah..
Wrist Extension (5lb) & Wrist Curl (10lb) Superset
12 ext 20 curl, 15 ext 25 curl
right, left, switch exercise, repeat
Hammer Curls
10lbsx10
10lbsx12
I then did like, 3 30lb tricep extensions to show her what to do, and went on to do more abs!
Overhead Crunches, legs raised unassisted
8x20
10x20
25x15
-These felt much better. Actually started feeling it in my abs... but like always when doin abs, my neck gets tired. I gotta figure out how to fix that. Must be something related to form. Any tips/help/thoughts appreciated.
So all in all, a pretty crappy ab workout, but well, I did something...
Diet update coming soon.

Hey hey - looking good in here. :)
Keep up the hard work!
With regards to fast food cheats, I don't think BK would be my first choice..although I do <3 their breakfasts - those croissants are teh awesome. It's Taco Bell all the way for me - or Whataburger. But if you're not in Texas, you might not know what that is? I couldn't imagine my life without whataburger taquitos. The best 3AM drunk food there is. ;)

Haha yea, never heard of Whataburger! I rather enjoy burgerking burgers, and wendy's ones, and mcdonalds chicken nuggets, but they do bad things to my system lol.
Here, when I get drunk on the town, I usually end up a Pizza Corner... it's basically 3 pizza joints on the same intersection, and one more (the one i go do) just down the hill a bit... I love pizza lol.. A LOT... and big slices when you're loaded is amazing! and theyre cheap(ish) too! (1/4 of a 18" pizza is usually 5$ or less).
I think the reason I love BK so much lately is they have probably some of the best mozza sticks I've ever had... and I don't think the US actually has the mozza sticks? I could be wrong, I was just on the sites looking for nutritional info and I noticed it was on the canada list but not the big fancy american meal generator lol

Ohh yea.. the multigrain ones are like 2-4 times the size of the regular rice krispies, and I'm kinda addicted to them lol. They're so delicious, especially when mixed with craisins! They also come in regular, honey, and cocoa flavored... I think all the macro's are pretty close to eachother too. There might be another flavor I'm missing. I've only ever had the original and honey flavored ones (because I couldn't find the original ones at the time). You should be able to find them in a grocery store very close to the regular rice krispies! I'm sure it can't just be an atlantic canada thing.
and I'm actually considering taking tonight off because of the DOMS... or just not doing pullups, maybe. my poor little lats!! lol...

Carbs: 145.2g 45%
Protein: 97.1 30%
I was only at 1037 calories when I got home from work and didn't really feel like eating, but I figured I'd raise my calories (and carbs, yehaw) and have a snack of the rest of my pita chips with some hummus. They're all gone now, no more of that particular temptation, but it was nice to have them around while I did. If I hadn't've had those extra carbs I would've made my weight goal for this morning (but I was only 0.1kg off). Not a big deal.
I'm having a terribly cranky day today. Had to have oatmeal for breakfast. I hate oatmeal.

I just get the SuperStore brand of garlic hummus, they don't have a very wide variety availble.. :(
and I can sympathesize with the shoulder issue in a sense. I broke my left wrist a few years ago in an unfortunate drinking accident (hah..) and I'm pretty sure it's set wrong. I also hyperextended my left elbow 2 years ago playing football, and with that combination I think my left shoulder/arm isn't developing properly... my anterior delt on the left side is HUGE (compared to my right) but everything else is lacking severely... it sucks having weird imbalances!
In good news: I'm less cranky now, I'm high as a kite on caffeine (I had an energy drink for the first time in a long time and IT WAS DELICIOUS but it put me way over the edge!), and my back is finally not super sore so I'm gonna hit the weights today... Might play with my deadlifts a lil :D and do some BB rows... see how high I can get em lol

-I have like, no energy, I'm cranky and irritable, and my roommate being perma-cranky and irritable as well is not helping the mood... but at least it forced me into the basement to do this bare bones workout.

Deadlifts -... I don't wanna talk about it :(

Standing DB Shoulder Press
25x6
25x6
20x10 (had to make myself feel good somehow :s)

Alright I'll post my calories for Thursday tomorrow, but there will be no counting today.... I did pretty good most of the day even though I was at a big seminar-esque thing with tons of sweets and other things, and my weigh-in this morning was excellent, AND my creadyl arrived so I know I'm going to get a darn good workout in tomorrow! So I'm "carbin up" :p CHEATDAY!

It's been such a busy weekend that I've decided Friday and Saturday were cheat days and as such there will be no diet info on them... didn't count for the most part, but if I had to guess, about 2400-2500 cals on friday and over 3000 on saturday. Yes, my weight is up pretty good but it's mostly water weight from the excessive amount of carbs I had!
Once I find my book I'll finally get around to Thursday's diet info, but for now, off to the exercise bike with my green tea!
I'll have a few pictures of my little home gym up soon :) As well as my CreaDyl shipment, and suppleent cupboards... I decided to share a bit of my life in the house in my log lol

A Look Into the Life & Gym of A Little Beefcake Grrl
This is the first thing you see as you come into my basement home gym...
http://imgur.com/441wj.jpg
You can see my bike to the left, my DB tree on the back wall, the 7ft standard barbell on the floor (with 130lbs of weight on it), and in the foreground is where I decided to hang my recently purchased resistance band, it's usually where my punching bag is hanging. I'd like to point out.. that bar is only about 3inches off the ground... and those are the biggest plates I have... so when I deadlift, that's where it's lifted from. As a result it features MUCH more leg/ass work, because I basically have to start in a low squat.
Walk into the big area and turn around...
http://imgur.com/dPg1x.jpg
You can see my 70lb heavy bag leaning against the wall, and again the resistance band that took its place. There's also my trusty little FID bench, and that blue thing on the floor is what I stick in a doorway to do my pullups. You can also see a few random boxing gloves, and one of my other benches (covered in stuff) that has a let extension/curl attachment.. it's just a cheap 100$ one you can get from walmart.
The back wall corner
http://imgur.com/KsmFX.jpg
Here you can see the DB tree a little better - 5, 10 15, 20, 25, and 30lb pairs, my 4lb and 8lb med balls, a really old barbell and my ezcurl bar, perfect pushups, less than half of the 7ft barbell, and a garbage can full of drumsticks (this is where my drumset used to be set up).
Cardio Corner
http://imgur.com/o6WUX.jpg
There's my trusty, well-used exercise bike with quite possibly the most uncomfortable seat in existance, my really old stereo (which is still totally awesome) that I hook up to my ipod (or in this case, my laptop) to listen to music as I work out... Also seen is my various reading material (MuscleMags of various types, Anabolic Primer (just finished recently, really good reading), and a Chinese Cook Book. I like to read while doing my boring cardio, I just gotta be careful not to sweat on my books. There's also my roommates lifting gloves (white leather) that I used for heavy deadlifts, and my 22channel mixer from when I used to jam with bands and stuff... and other random items. Tweakin 1up mushroom :P
The wall oppsite the back wall
http://imgur.com/xTb1S.jpg
Here you can see my super fabulous rowing machine (I recently acquired it from my dad, who I'm sure probably got it when he was like 16), my guitar and bass amps and PA (remnants of my past life lol), and my new CreaDyl also makes a cameo appearance. If you look in the far back left corner you can see my football shoulderpads sitting upside down... lol
And Last, but certainly not least, my Supplement cupboards
http://imgur.com/DXi25.jpg
There's tons of crap in there... TONS... as you can see... so much... there's good stuff and gimics and things I won't need until I start "bulking". You can see a smaller cupboard opened on the left side which is where all my vitamins, fish oils, and other pills are hiding. I'm not using all of those supplements right now, but there is a decent variety of protein I can dip into, and some random random pills and samples.
Well... that was fun :)

A buddy of mine is a grafitti artist and he wanted somewhere he could practice, so I was like DUDE TAG MY BASEMENT!! He did most of that stuff in one day in a few hours, and there's very little ventilation, so I was high for a week. He came back a few months later with a buddy of his and spraypainted over Felix the Cat (where the E is on the wall now) and put up my nickname (Kronik) over his ("Tweek" used to be written there). I'm pretty happy with it!!

Spiked energy drinks and that's a party! :D
I got a little idea of what I'm gonna do with my creadyl... haha... maybe create cocktails once a week? With a disclaimer to NEVER actually make them cause it's probably a terrible idea :D I'm working on the Orange flavor now... I've already got a few good ideas haha. Just wait till I crack open the Lime... ooo lol
General Update!
So I'm probably going to be entering the Double-T KetoCuts Women's Transformation Challenge...
I was going to take progress pictures this Friday, but in light of this other competition, I'll be taking some pictures tonight, and I'll post comparisons to my starting pictures in this thread.
I'm feeling pretty good about my progress so far in this contest, but I'm honestly a little concerned that I've done *too well* in these first nearly 4 weeks to have a chance of doing well in the other contest, but there's no way I can really tell until I compare the pictures once I take them tonight. Here's to hoping??
I'll be taking my measurements and doing my official weigh-in this Friday, and so I'll be posting another measurement comparison chart with the weekly and total differences in inches. I don't expect my weight to be as low as it was last weigh-in, my cheat days seriously affected the numbers, but not very much how I look. Plus, I've begun taking CreaDyl, which as a creatine, I'm expecting that I'll be holding more water weight than usual. It's still possible for me to get back to where I was, but I'm not expecting much if any weight loss this week.
That's all on that for now!

Last night:
60 minutes of hard bike cardio (HR ~155+).
It's the first time I've actually seriously pushed myself on that bike for a long time, and my legs were burning after like whoa. I was going to do some boxing cardio with my roomie but she wasn't feeling well so we called that off.
This morning:
30 minutes LISS (~130bpm)
Diet:
I'll post yesterday's information soon, it's pretty good though.
However, it's been the first time that I expected my weight to go down a little, but instead it stays steady. I blame creatine. Hopefully the loss will pick back up again, because I'd hate to get stuck at this weight and plateau my fatloss. I suppose this is the first real speedbump in my progress.
Today's diet has been 80% planned out already. I'll see how it pans out.

Nice 165g of protein with only 1206 calories.
What does your typical daily meal plan look like? I find myself struggling to get 180g of protein at 1800-2k a day.

Hey, thanks for stopping by.
A typical day for me (Mon-Fri at least).. I only have 2 meals, maybe 3. I'll have a solid Breakfast and Lunch, and if I train I'll take a protein shake, and then depending how hungry I am I'll either have a little snack that will set my macro's good for the day, or have a little treat (something I crave), or make a meal.
For the first few weeks of the contest, I was only eating smallish breakfasts and lunches (250-350 cals each), and then I'd have a big meal at night or if I wasn't hungry then I'd just go to bed and stay with very little calories for the day(bad idea). Lately I've been doing closer to 500cal breakfast and lunches, because in the evenings I'm lazy, I don't want to cook, and I prefer to just snack on something while doing my nightly... stuff.
I try to balance my meals to have as much protein as I can manage. Breakfast lately I've been having cereal, but my milk mixed with protein powder (yummy), and some chicken bacon to get a little fat and some protein. Lunch I have a chicken breast or two (I buy pre-seasoned ones) and a carb source (usually basmati rice, baked sweet potato, mashed potato, or whole grain pasta). Sometimes extra lean ground beef. I'm sort of using myself as an experiment of calories in < calories out, and what I eat doesn't really matter as long as the calories and macros are right.

I'm doing that DoubleT portion so it'd be nice to win 500$ too, and then if the KetoCuts goes well I think the 1st prize is a 2000$ shopping spree at some very expensive store... lol

I'll post my starting stats here shortly, and maybe my before pictures...
To the others in the contest, good luck! I hope you reach your goals too :)

--I had a lot of ground beef, and even though it's extra lean, there's still a lot of fat in it! I always rinse it very thoroughly, so I'd like to think there's less than that... another major source of fat was a bit of Jersey Milk bar I had. I melted some down to dip strawberries in. I'll use a better chocolate source next time.

I haven't taken my pictures yet, but I plan to put on the bikini and do that up sometime today - probably after my cardio this morning. I did my weigh in though, and even though its a low for this week, it's still higher than my past 2 weigh-ins (ugh). I blame the creatine for making me hold more water.
Just curious - but are you calorie cycling? Or carb cycling?
Uh, not intentionally :p
Sure looks like I know what I'm doing sometimes though, eh??
I had some friends over to play poker last night, so I had a bit of a cheaty time, and the past week was TOM times and I get pissy, cranky, and crave everything terrible for me... so I indulged a little (just a little though - it could've been like the weekend....)
I'll be posting my inches/weighin/perhaps pictures later on once I get this cardio done... trying to do it before I procrastinate too much :p

I posted the April 1st diet under the workout information, its there, and it's kinda dirty haha. But I'm still below maintenance/expenditure :D

Well I've just done the math on my new measurements, some are up, some are down, overall is up though. Some places make sense (shoulders and legs growing some muscle back?), and since my weight is up from the last time I did my measurements, it's all making perfect sense to me.
Once I get a bunch of free time I'll format and post them up, but I'm not going to be in a rush because frankly there's not too much to show compared to my week 2 measurements :)

So yesterday, I did morning(err, noon) cardio on my stationary bike, 60 minutes @ 119 avg HR (very easy wake up call), burned 355 calories, and later on in the day I did 45 minutes a little harder @142 avg HR, burning 412 calories. The diet was very dirty, the protein low, and the carbs and fats very high. I also went to a late (very late) night movie with a friend and had some popcorn and Peanut Butter M&Ms... I haven't added the M&M info in, but everything else added up to about 2250 cals, so I can easily assume my daily total was around (or likely over) 2500 cals. My weight was up a tad this morning (didn't drink much water yesterday), and even though I'm not too worried about it, I feel as if I need to crack down more on my exercising and especially dieting - less snacking (and eating in general).
So today after being awake for a little bit, I went to my basement and did 90 minutes of LISS again on the bike. I was going to do half bike and half rower but I was in a comfortable groove keeping my HR right where I wanted it to be, writing lists and listening to music. So I did 90 minutes @ avg HR 134, and burned 680 calories. This is fasted cardio with the exception of my morning CreaDyl injection (hah).
So now it's time for breakfast and a well deserved shower, and then I go to walmart to purchase supplies for the reopening of my cottage this year :D
Maybe I'll take pictures of that too - show you all some Nova Scotia beauty :p

I hear you on this one! It's going to be a good week though!

So I brought my camera with me on my trip, but I totally forgot to take any pictures.... I'll do it next time I'm up there!
So far this week things are going according to plan... I hope to hit a new low by Friday, but I'm actually about a week behind. I wanted to be under 148 last friday but I guess I fell off the wagon, or the creatine added stubborn water weight... probably both. I don't look like I've gained any (thank goodness) and I'm back at just under 150 as of this morning. I'll post my diet updates for the past few missed days soon, and I've only had 1 workout in the past few days, but I'll be doing one tonight for sure. A few friends want to come over and train in my basement with me because they know they're too lazy to do anything on their own... which is good for them to make the effort ya know? So I made up a simple little circuit to put them through and I'll be setting that up and giving it a test run myself after I get off work. I also have a sample of Double-T No Beta that I think I'll give a try tonight... I have to do my "pushup test" tonight for the hundred pushups program, see how many I can do in one set before moving on to week 3 :)
I basically need to finish my weight loss by the end of May, and I'd like to finish the 100 pushups program too but I think I should be able to do something with pushups after my surgery. My plan is to hit ~130lbs by May 28th, hopefully have a six pack or close to it, so after my surgery I can just work on maintaining and maybe building a little more muscle. If I lose 2lbs a week for the rest of the contest, I should be at 133-134lbs on May 28th. Surgery is May 31st. So no more bad cheat days allowed, I have to be spot on and work my ass off to get these results. The last time I remember weighing 140 was when I was 13. I think I was 120 when I was 11 or 12 (oh puberty!). This week I want to end up at 147 or less which puts me in my "adult all-time low" (reached 148 last summer).
I'm looking forward to keeping everything clean and steady, and hope that my measurements on the 16th show some excellent improvements (Hips less than 38" would be amazing... hah)

Yea I just looked at the time you posted that because I didn't see it when I started replying... they're pretty close!
And the circuit I made for my friends is super simple... 3 cardio-type things (row machine, bike, stairs), and then bench press (very light 40lbs), duck squats with ball (against wall) and a single 25lb DB, bentover row (40lbs), lunges (10lb dbs), and seated shoulder press (15lbs might put it to 5 or switch up with the lunges though). None of them have done any or much training before so I need to sort of see where they're at strength wise, and one wants to be fit, one wants to gain strength, and the other wants to lose weight... I'm no personal trainer, but I've done circuits in the past (its pretty much how I started out, with my football team), and I just wanna make sure every major muscle group is hit and theres a decent bit of cardio involved... plus, I only have so much equipment I can use lol. Gotta teach them all form and how not to hurt themselves... it should be an interesting (errrrr frustrating) night :D

Sounds good! Let me know how it goes :) I actually put one of my younger fitter clients through a circuit tonight.
Push press 1 min as many as she could do
walking lunges w/ 17.5 lbs for a min
BW pushups for a min
Pullups for a min
and then step ups w/ 15lbs for a min.
Rest and then repeat. She was pretty beat. Gotta say, I definitely enjoy kicking people's asses. lol

thats pretty similar to what I had them do! except, no pullups here... we can't do those well lol
Lunges were with 10lb DB's for the first 2 rounds and 15lb dbs for the last (because the shoulder press was 15lbs at the start but at the end everyones arms were jelly heh).
it went a lot smoother than i expected, it was actually quite fun :)

I am tryin to figure out how to delete or edit my body group. I dont like my old one and apparently nobody else did either, but I have taken up a ne exercise- which I have always loved- belly dance! So I am making a new group for it.

honestly I don't have too much experience with the bodygroups, I joined one or two but I don't play in them too often... never made one myself either. But belly dancing sounds pretty fun, I've heard a bit about it, but it's not something I could picture myself getting into right now haha... maybe I'll do some reading up on it when I'm bored at work (which is basically as soon as i get there ;) )

So I'm at work thinking about when I'll have time to go through my notes and post everything up...
Tonight is a write off for the most part - my friends are coming over to do a circuit again, then we're playing poker.
Tomorrow there's a Bodybuilding competition (NSABBA Provincial Championships, qualifier for the nationals I guess) that I would really like to go to but I don't know if I have the time/money to get a ticket... And I have evening plans ;)
Sunday I think is mostly free, probably a weekly game of pool and I have a football team meeting in the evening (I'm not playing, but I'm still volunteering and fairly heavily involved with the team).
So inbetween all that, I need to put in at least 1 workout and hopefully post up some relevant information!
When I first started taking CreaDyl, I took some notes on how I felt about it, and since it's been about 2 weeks I think I should be able to comment on how it's affecting me. Also, last night I took half of my No Beta sample (3pills pre-workout), and for my next workout I'll probably take the other three. Can give a little review on that... but right now I can say the pills are definitely way bigger than I like to take!
My main goal for this weekend - keep the diet on track.
If I can keep everything clean and as scheduled, I should be able to hit 145lbs next friday on Measurement Update Day :) very exciting - that's the weight I've been aiming for for the past 2 years or so :)

lol, two days of nearly 3000cals (and one day last week i logged as 3500 cals, but i didnt really count), I figure it's alright to be a lil on the low side for now! 1200 is usually my low point I aim for... I explained the 750cal day in that post (i think?), but now that I think of it, its nice to feel like I've "reset" myself from the badness of the days beforehand!
I've been plannin better since though, and tonight may become a tad cheaty, but I plan to keep it reasonable (no higher than 1600). I'm actually pretty comfortable with 1200 cals, yea I get hungry, but it's totally manageable hunger, compared to what I used to deal with :)

I hear that man...
I have a good cheat day, then I gain tons of water weight, and it takes forever to get back to where I was... I have to do very well this week to stay on track (roughly 2lbs/week loss with the exception of the first week)... I did some math earlier and I'm about 1.4lbs off of that because of the gain when I started creatine/cheated too much

I recently got high speed internet like 3 weeks ago, lol, I am behind the times. But anyway- I can "watch" youtubes now, but I cant hear 'em, lol. My computer stopped recognizing my speakers so I have no sound and I dunno how to install sound, do you? Anybody? So my apologies if the belly dancing music was an irritating one since I couldnt hear it. Some belly music is awful others are nice. I like hard rock, so I tend to like the more agressive belly dancing.
One thing I know for sure is that I have noticed for women that the tummy is the hardest part to flatten out and belly dance does a great job on doing that part for your tummy/hips and pelvic area.

Installing sound... do you have speakers or headphones? Some computers if you plug them into your computer it will try to install itself, but if not, I'd suggest checking out the Control Panel, there should be a section for sound/speakers :)
And yea, flatting out the tum is pretty difficult... Upon lookin at my results (and myself in the mirror) lately, I've decided I'm close to a point where I'm actually content with my tum (as in, I don't hate it anymore)... but I still want MORE! (which is in reality, less tum lol)
And good afternoon to you too!!

I'm looking for protein pancake recipes that taste really good! I know there's a ton around, but I'm looking for ones that folks have actually tried and found to work out really well and taste good!

See if Dr Oz has a website. I hear he has a recipe for black bean brownies and cookies that are a 5 star! Look there as he may also have a pancake recipe too. In fact, I think Mary at msfloridatropix.proboards.com actually posted a pancake recipe from him.

So yesterday I began the day preparing for the worse -> cheat foods in the evening.
So, after I woke up and did an hour of super easy cardio (with my CreaDyl), I didn't have breakfast and i waited until about 3pm to actually eat (which was only a small hummus & turkey sandwich). Since I had a dinner date I knew I'd be eating again at 6:30ish, and I logged that in since I knew where we were going to be heading to... But after that, I didn't eat anything else... I thought I might be going to a movie or snacking at home but both never happened, and it was late when I got home (lots of driving around) so I just went to bed... And so:
April 10
Calories: 603
Fats: 16.4g 25%
Carbs: 51.5g 36%
Protein: 56.2g 39%
I feel ashamed posting that...
So today, I'm having a forced high calorie day(aiming for ~2000), but I'm going to make sure there's a lot of protein involved (and fiber).
Already had a breakfast in the ballpark of 520 cals, going to do my cardio momentarily, while planning on what I'm going to make for lunch & supper, as well as planning for tomorrow meal's.
Can't let this happen again... recipe for disaster.

Yea, and I wasn't even that hungry on the 600 cal day... but gosh, I told my friend I was hanging out with how little I ate and I thought she was going to beat me... lol
I could have kept yesterday cleaner and less cal easy enough (I could've done under 1000 again) but I don't wanna get into that mindset and I wanted to make sure I didn't feel like crap today at work when I get back into my reg routine...

Excellent workout today! I'll post the details shortly.
When I ordered from BB.com, I got a bunch of free samples. One of them was Double-T NO Beta. Its a pack with 6 pills. To get the most bang for my buck, I decided to try it on two occasions - One being last Thursday (3 pills immediately pre-workout), and the other time being today. I did not get any tingles or jitters, I didn't feel like I was going to explode with energy, but I can say, I did have a REALLY GOOD workout session, both days. Now I don't know if that can be accredited to the NO Beta or just my frame of mind, but I was able to get through an entire, heavy, decently lengthy workout, both times taking the product, without crashing or feeling like I was going to crap out or puke (except after doing abs today... then I got a little pukey feeling). Overall, I do believe I would try this product again, however, the main thing holding me back is the size of the pills. I wouldn't mind taking more pills at once, I just really don't like taking pills so big. It's why I stopped taking BCAA pills - just tooooo huge.
I'm also nearly done my first tub of Double T CreaDyl. I decided to take the Orange Cream flavor first, and I must say, I'm enjoying it. It's like my morning Orange Juice now. I've been dosing according to the label - kinda. I workout in the evenings, so I take one scoop upon waking, and another pre-workout. When I first opening my jug, the first thing I always do is smell... and it kinda smelled like orange flavored playdough. So I was a little concerned. But I put a scoop in with 12oz of water, shook it a little, and it mixed up beautifully. A few vigorous shakes in my shaker cup and it was completely smooth with no clumping whatsoever. I smelled it again (of course), and it smelled quite delicious.... Upon the first taste I found it to be kinda sour and tangy, but I tried mixing it with different amounts and have found there's a sweet spot where it actually tastes a little creamy. Even tangy sour it still tasted great, went down easy, never upset my stomach, and has generally just been a nice product. I haven't been able to gauge strength gains or anything of the sort yet (due to the way I've been training and eating).
Well, that's my little Double T Product blurb for now :)

So I feel as if I've been thrown my first curveball today:
So far throughout the contest I've easily been able to guess which way my weight would be the next morning - down, up, the same. Since Friday morning it's been creeping slowly down. After my 600 cal day the weight was just down a tiny bit. After my higher cal day it was again, down just a bit (0.1kg each day). Yesterday I ate right where I should (see post above - 1465 cals), and my weight is UP 0.6kg (1.32lbs). Now, it's probably just water rentention from something I ate yesterday (which I assume would be fake potatoes), but that it's up that much kinda has be confused. Hopefully everything levels back out soon!
I'm just feelin a little in the dark and felt like sharing :)

I'm not sure what thrusters are, but right now I have trouble with any exercise that needs leg power.. If I have to "explode", I can only half ass it. Pushups and Planks even give my knee issues because I can't put weight on my toes and keep my legs straight, I always cross my bad leg over my good.

I'm not too worried yet, I figure I should be back on track soon, but if it keeps up then I'll definitely worry haha.
And I call Instant Potatoes fake potatoes. Like, the kind you buy in a box and then mix with water, milk & butter.

So tonight is my off night from the weights, but I'm considering hitting something anyways. I never do arms, I could do them. Tomorrow night I'm going to do a circuit I made up for my friends with them... But I'm in a vile mood today (life happened), and I don't know what to do with myself. Sleep early, hit the weights, or attempt some half-assed cardio.

weights would probably be the best solution. But play it by ear. You don't want to hurt yourself if you over do it when your adrenline is pumping extra because of your mood...

Yea... that's what I'm worried about. But if it's just my arms it shouldn't be too bad...

I assume it's a fat burner...let us know what you think of them! :)
You're absolutely correct!
It's a new Double T Sports product. If you've seen the other Double T contest posted up in this forum (2nd Annual 2010 NO Beta/CreaDyl Challenge), there is a women's section called the Women's KetoCuts challenge. You're supposed to use this fat burner(DoubleT KetoCuts), plus one of DoubleT Sports other products (in my case, CreaDyl), for an entire 16 week period, and at the end of the year they're going to be judging it. For more information and clarification (and perhaps corrections to what I just said), check out that thread and the DoubleT site.
I signed up for the contest, and now that I've finally received my KetoCuts, I will begin taking them tomorrow morning, and I'll post a bit of my experience using the product as I go :)
Tomorrow I'll likely post on how I felt in regards to energy, jitters, and anything else that pops up :)

I had mad candy cravings... so I started with a protein shake, and later on when I couldn't take it anymore, I had some candies (tostitos rounds & salsa, cadbury mini eggs) and rounded it out with some Cheese Strings (all protein and fat, oh yea!). Worked out well for me!

Sounds yummy! I am upset I tried to look for those pita chips because I found them, and then along with the hummus in my fridge it was a bad scene. Pita chips + hummus = big big trouble. lol
Btw, are yours more chip like or more pita like? Because the macros on the ones I bought are pretty much like chips. Not too sure if I bought the right kind.

It's 7-Keto Based, and personally I've never tried 7-Keto before, so I'm pretty curious! There's also a ****-ton of caffeine... zooooooooom! (for most at least...)

Yea, the macros are kinda like chips, but a little better I think... 50g serving about 200 cals, a bit of fat, lot of carbs, bit of protein. To me, they taste WAYYY better than chips (unless i crave crunchysalty), and are heavenly paired with hummus... and you're right, that = big big trouble!
I could easily sit down and go through an entire bag with a big big tub of hummus.... with a side of chocolate and diet cola. Been there, done that... I'm way more careful now!

Where do you get your calories from the machine or a HR monitor. My boss has a polar watch that calculates calories burned, % from fat ect...but I havent decided if I believe that its accurate or not. Whats your take on those?

It was grocery buying day yesterday (aka payday)... I stocked up :(

I use a Polar F4 HR Monitor. I put in all my stats and such and just let it go. My take... it's just a gauge. You'll never know EXACTLY how much you burn, but you can always compare one exercise session to the next, compare how hard you worked and the time taken, and make judgements that way. The only thing (I think) that it does 100% correctly is tell me my heart rate :D ...unless I hit it funny or its positioned wrong... So I guess more like 95% correctly due to human error :)
I use Fitday to determine my RMR & calories, all my numbers are from that, but for the activities in FitDay I always refer to my HR Monitor as a guide.
As for the % of fat... Mine doesn't do that... and I don't imagine it's super accurate.

I dunno what those pills are, but I did do a keto diet a couple yrs ago. The pills should do ya some justice since you are on a high protein and low carb diet. They re so RED they scare me, lol.
You look adorable in your pic, but... I thought you had brown hair, did you? Did you bleach it?

The Pills are fat burners based on something called 7-Keto... not like a Keto Diet :) And I assume red is for BURNN!!! (like, burn fat). So far so good with them, no adverse effects felt.
I have a (bad?) habit of dying my hair, constantly. Especially in the summer... Right now it is brown, but I have blond streaks in the front :) After I got my mullet trimmed up pretty my hairdresser threw a few foils in for sh*ts&giggles, so it'll be easier for me to put in the blue, orange, and whatever else I do in a few weeks :)
And chocolate licorice is sooooooo delicious... it's like crack to me lol. Chocolate, chewy & sweet all in one! It's raspberry licorice too :D

So I just calculated up my measurements!
Overall, slightly over 4 inches lost. Some places gained (forearm of all places...), some stayed the same, some had significant changes (-1" around belly button, -1.25" off hips, -1.5" off fat thigh part).
Weighed in at 66.8kg (146.96lbs) - New low! by very very little. But new low!
I've decided I'm going to up my efforts - I'll explain...
I've been keeping notes on just about.. well.. everything. Between my RMR, Calories in, and Calories burned by activity, my deficit each week is around -5000cal. One week was about half of that. I can post this information up later if I get a bit of time. I want to increase that deficit to -7000 cals (which, as the estimated math will tell us, is the equivalent of 2lbs of fat). I may just try for -6000 this week and then up it to -7000 next, but I'm going to aim high and go for the -6000. My diet will not chance very much, I'll keep to the same ranges, I'm just planning to up my cardio to at least 30 minutes every Monday to Friday morning. It's hard to wake up sometimes, but I find if I actually get my ass out of bed to do cardio, it helps my day.

You are making great progress overall. I think your plan sounds good but I would suggest keeping the protein high so you can preserve your muscle mass given that 2lbs a week is fairly aggressive for your size.
congrats on the new low weight too..I know how that feels, and its AMAZING!! Keep pushing!

Yea, I always try to get at least 40% protein... I aim for minimum 1g/lb of LBM... which in my case is somewhere between 110 and 120 as far as I can tell. So even on my random low cal days I try to hit that... I'm sure I've lost some LBM. I plan to increase my deficit with more LISS - doesn't leave me feeling poopie like too much hard cardio & lifting. I'll keep my lifting between 2-3 times a week.

I felt like snacking really bad last night, so I decided I would do some hardcore cardio (and believe me, it was messy) to burn some extra calories to make my cheat day not as bad. And I didn't end up eating as much as I expected either! :O!

Sorry....I must have missed your response (although Ill head back and look) but did you say you have a polar watch that calculates your workout calories? If so, how do you find it, worth the money? 1000 calories burned? Thats crazy! Id love to see how much I burn during workouts, I always figured around 300 for weight training but maybe its more.

I think the type I got (which is the lesser of their awesome calorie-counting products) was maybe $150 regular... I got it on sale cause it had a dead battery. It comes in Red too I think, and maybe another color.
For me, a typical 45 minute weight-training session is maybe 200 cals... fitday is usually pretty close in its estimates. But if you're motoring then it can be higher.

So, my chest and abs are KILLING ME TODAY!! They were really sore yesterday too, but it's kinda debilitating. I was in the grocery store pushing a cart around, and my gosh, the amount of abs you gotta use to make tight turns... I never knew...
Yesterday I only did some very light cardio, and ate.. kinda bad again. But I'm almost totally out of candy and I can't afford to buy anymore, so I expect things to get better on that front. I have to be extremely strict with my budget moreso than before now since my roommate is moving out (again) and it's gonna be just me...
I also bought some new furniture yesterday... My living room has a 5 year old 100$ futon that's literally falling apart, and my grandmothers really old couch... and yes it looks like it. So I finally said screw this handmedowncrappercrap, and bought a pair of leather couches. Because I can't JUST get couches, I also got a new mattress... it's quite possibly the most comfortable one ever (floating on a cloud?). And a new TV stand! The kind that has the flatscreen bracket attached to it. I'm excited! All being delivered next Saturday, and then I pay forever... :(
Even though I'm still sore, I've decided I'm going to do the circuit I made for my friends tonight with them.
I'll be back with diet & exercise numbers from yesterday and today in a few hours :D

It's mainly cause I'm making a face lol "Ooooo!"
But my face has thinned out quite a bit :D It's usually the first thing people notice on me at work and home and such. There's not much left to lose there though... lol

Woohoo for all out shopping sprees, lol :D
I know what you mean about being sore and not realizing how many muscles you actually use in daily life! Thats awesome though, you must be working hard!
Be good on your diet. You have made awesome progress and you dont want it to stop. Plus, I need to use you for nutritional motivation since thats my weak spot. Yesterday was great though...1800!

Well then, if I'm being a rolemodel... I better get my shizzle together.
Today will be better, I promise..
And I think I'm addicted to Cheese Strings...
I don't really like cheese though...
But damn...
so convenient and stringy and... tasty!
And no carbs (WOO!)
On a more serious note, I realize the error of my ways, and I'm sure most of you know how it goes... get some carbs in you, you get addicted again, and can't stop.... BUT I WILL BREAK THIISSS.
I may start posting what my actual meals are... there's not much to write, but it may hold me a little more accountable.

Oh and BTW... my friends were too busy to show up to workout, and my abs/chest/tris are still killing me... so I took the night off... and that's probably why I ate so much. It was my roommates last night in the house with me though, so, I was influenced in a bad way. But now that all the candy's gone... safer lol

Precisely lol. I was between 2300 and 3000 calories for 4 days so I'm tryin to do ~1200 till Friday to minimize damage... And upping my exercise as best I can.
I can't do overhead squats either for the same reason. My 7ft barbell is taller than my ceiling lol... It's probably ~6'10" ceiling, I can touch flat footed (and I'm short). I don't think I'd try them right now anyways because of the instability of my knee. And I usually can't do front squats because my left wrist is so messed up it just hurts, but I managed to do it with minimal discomfort and I think I'll be doing them more regularily for a while! I require MAD quad development (size & strength) before surgery and besides FSquats I only have regular squats... can't really do leg extensions (you dont wanna know what it looks like...). Maybe I'll try the leg ext's again just to see if there's been any change... I'll be hitting my legs again a little maybe Friday, and if not, for SURE on Saturday. I'm going to do another one of those insane workouts, with a goal in mind: beat my previous time & burn as much or more calories. Hellz yah!

Honestly, leg ext's arent the best exercise if you have knee issues. Go light if you do try them, because it's very easy to cause damage going to heavy or locking the knees. I do them sometimes because I find they do help bring out the teardrop in the quads but Im sure there are other ways to do that.... Squats kick leg extensions ass any day of the week IMO.
Oh and I posted a vid if you are interested :D

I used to do them on the machine at the gym at the lightest possible weight (15lbs) and it was still too hard to get more than 6... One leg at a time. I really need to focus on my teardrop muscle because it's been completely destroyed from my injury. And since my ACL is torn, when I try to do leg extensions, my shin bone practically leaves the knee joint and floats up a little - it is NOT a fun feeling. I see my leg go completely flat on the top and eventually pull... no way I can get near to a "lock out" on it.
I have a leg ext attachment on one of my benches at home, I'll probably put a 5 or 10lb plate on it and rep it out in a day or two, see how its doing, how it feels...
I recently found out some chick that works at the same place as me is a POWERLIFTER and she may hold some RECORDS! Needless to say... I must now find this girl, introduce myself, and become her apprentice.
..err.. I mean, I need to find out what she deadlifts, so I can train to deadlift more.
I see her around a lot... same bus and all... never would've thought it!!

I had 2 training sessions... kinda. The first time I tried to do what I planned, a friend called (earlier than I expected) so I had to go meet up with her after my 2nd exercise... So I came back, and I decided I'd just superset everything I was going to do earlier to get it done quick, but as I was beginning the 2nd superset, I dropped a 25lb plate on my bare foot, right on the toes... May have broke em. They hurt pretty good. Not swollen badly yet, so they might just be a little pissed off at me... I finished the 2nd superset but then I called it quits cause I had to get off my foot and look at it and assess the damage. Looked like I had 2 knuckles on my "index" toe... lol

I managed to do 45 minutes of AM Cardio yesterday, but my weight training was a bust. This morning I had enough time to get 40 minutes of cardio in, and tonight I'm planning to do deadlifts. Doubles to 1RM. I don't have a load of time before football practice (.. I'll be home for an hour), so it'll only be the deads. And I will be hurting tomorrow... I basically want to see if I can still do 240. I may try to prop my barbell up a little so I don't have to use my legs as much (my tallest plate only brings my barbell about 3 inches off the ground. I FEEL my ass work extra hard). When I get home from practice and start prepping food for tomorrow, I may try to get some cardio in (incline walking on the treadmill instead of bike). I'm usually totally exhausted by 9pm though so that might not work out for me.
Expect more random updates throughout the day... I can't really do much work at work due to injuries in each leg (bad left knee, broken right-foot toe(s))

Yea, I posted them at the start, but since there's been a few changes, I felt I should post them again (and format them to look prettier).
You can clearly see my Double-T Sports products for the two challenges I'm in, and I removed my Green Tea Extract and Caffeine because they're included in those products. Going to buy new protein soon too...! Must decide what I want.. hmm lol

I've been on the KetoCuts for about a week now, and I can't comment on it's effects quite yet because I had 4 really bad cheat days...- But, in light of that, I'm almost back to where I was last week! So maybe it is pretty awesome...? Time will tell!
As for the CreaDyl - Orange cream flavor tastes great, and I'm reallllyyy diggin the Lemon Lime flavor. It's so delicious like lemonade, and with the right amount of water, it would make an excellent vodka mixer.
...Yea, I'm liking the products :)
Energy is good, strength is good, muscles lookin good (the ones I can see hah), they feel solid (mm. muscle hydration.), all around going quite well.
I have a secret hope that after 2 weeks the KetoCuts turns into super-high-amazing gear and fat starts melting off me... Better keep my diet in check :p
