i know tanning product wars come up a lot in this section but this question is a bit different. a buddy of mine is getting ready for his first comp and he told me he was using dream tan and waned to know what i think of it.

The only other product ive used was pro to and obviously no comparison, dream tan looks much better, however a few weeks out from my first show i tested it a few differnt times because of how much I hear people complain it doesnt stick or it covers up lines. I have seen it applied correctly and it comes out great, imo when done correctly nothing can compare.

However when I tested it on myself 3-4 times, every time it never "dried" it ran all over the place, would smear if i touched it. I even contacted many people who i have seen use it with great results to make sure I was applying it correctly.

The day of the show I put it on backstage and it was a mess for the pre judging, I had to apply it 3-4 more times before the night show. quite a few guys there were also using it, yet they had great results from it. I asked one of them if I was putting it on correctly, he even tried to help yet it would not stick on me correctly.

after that one of them came up to me and told me the problem was MY skin. He said my skin was just too smoothe for the product to soak up.... to me that sounded like bs, then again there really is no other reason I could think of.

its been in the back of my mind if i am going to go the dt route again next comp, i was wondering if anyone had an idea of the problem? besides bashing the product

Exfoliate an hour before you apply it.

Like you said, when applied correctly there really is no comparision. I heard everyone talking about how good Dream Tan was and I didn't believe it until I went and watched my first bodybuilding show. There was a clear and distinct difference between those competitors who used it and those who didn't.

I think if you look up Tommy's old post on how to apply it correctly with the slap method, that will help out a lot. As far as it drying, it never did on me either. I was worried about this but I was assured that on stage under the lights it would not be noticeable and would be very negligent. I guess this was the case because no one ever commented on it. I do like that if it gets messed up, it literally takes a minute to get it back to normal ... I don't see myself using anything other than DT2.

Dream Tan is the best. Especially if you have no time to tan this works just as good or even better. What I do is brush on pro tan to get a good base and then the day of the show backstage I put on Dream tan it adds the shine and color to your body. there's 2 different colors so you have to find the right one for you. Its stays a little wet on you so you do have to watch out what and who you touch. If you're in good shape you won't sweat that much on stage. But if you're huffing and puffing on stage and sweating, well becareful cause it will run on you. but the good thing about it is that you get to wash it all off.
