This will be my second year competing. I'm going for the April 28 show in Madison Wisconsin. I was a middleweight last year, but this year I should be up in the lite heavyweights (185 target weight). I was 205 at 16 out. Comments welcome.

what's your BF?, Looking a little smooth, but that's to be expected at 16 weeks. Goodluck

i would shoot for a lower weight than 185, you will not be lean enough at 185. Good luck to you.

hahah
yea, definitley a little smooth, but I guess that's what the diet is for. I'm not sure what the BF is, because I don't really trust the calipers, and I don't have anyone to test it for me. I'm just going by the mirror. Last year I wasn't quite lean enough at competition time, so this year I'm hoping to do better. I put on a fair amount of muscle in the offseason, but with it comes the pesky fat gains. I was thinking about ramping up my cardio to twice a day. I didn't want to jump the gun so far out because of muscle loss... what do you guys think? (calories are at 2550).

Just my 2 cents. I see that you have competed before so I'm sure that you know your body. I may be wrong but why start off with 2 sessions of cardio a day? Why not do 1 a day and then up it as the contest gets closer? I only ask because I'm in prep for my first show and I was nervous about my bodyfat and everyone told me to calm down and let my diet do most of the work. Another thing, your title say 16 weeks out, Is that correct or will it 13 weeks out this saturday?

You are correct, it will be 13 weeks this saturday. Those pics were from a few weeks ago, i have since dropped 6 pounds. The only reason I would do two cardio sessions a day is if I'm going to be strapped for time. I know my body to a point, but last year I needed an extra 3 weeks that I didn't have. This year I started at 17 weeks out instead of 16, and started a bit leaner. However, I'm incorporating refeeds this year, which I did not do last year. I guess I'm just a bit neurotic because I want to do well this year (last year was my first comp, and I entered with no expecations). I will get some more recent pics up soon that will be more relevant to the immediate situation. I need to look to these boards for support and advice because of the lack of knowledgable people surrounding me, I appreciate any help I get from the board.
