On the ground? I find it difficult to balance the curl bar on my bench while I add weight plates. With a barbell it's easy, just load up while it's in the rack..

Usually standing on my head. It creates what you call that sense of balance.

sorry to hijack but how do you like that hampton multipurpose bar? i was looking at one online the other day and debating between that and one at efs (twice the price of the hampton but fits on a power rack).

Just load it up on the ground. Even the beasts of the world don't add enough weight to make that difficult.

Maybe you could get a jack like they use for deadlifts?

I love it, it's a great quality bar. The grip positions are perfect for me as well. I'd buy it again if I had to.

Load it on the edge of a bench....equal plates on each side at the same time. I have long arms I guess and can streatch out and slide the plates on at the same time...
