The Preview

I?ve always been an athlete. I ran track in high school and in college at Iowa State University in the BIG 12. I always had a lean physique and have always been defined and muscular. It never occurred to me that my body could fall so far from what I was so used to seeing in the mirror everyday.

I ate like crap in high school and was able to get away with it with how active I was. My diet was a fairly healthy one; however the amount of sprinting I did allowed me to get away with plenty of late night snacks and slices of pizza every week. The moment my collegiate career was over I couldn?t wait to take a break from the track. From all cardio in general for that matter. I took a full month off before I even got back in the gym and when I did I decided to try my hand at body building. I?m a competitive person and I had always been competitive in the weight room, this seemed only natural for me to undertake at this point in my life.

I was lifting 6 times a week and my body was getting bigger, but it was also getting bigger in the wrong places. I was eating everything in sight trying to bulk up. I was downing massive shakes and trying different supplements. I started to become very displeased with my physique; the abs were gone, my chest striations were disappearing, and my arms only had shadow lines for definition. I didn?t have a plan. I?m a rookie at this bodybuilding thing. I took for granted all the careful planning that went into my training by the coaches. I suppose there was a method to their madness.

When I came across The Challenge it interested me because it seemed like an excellent way to not only keep me motivated but to be strict and disciplined with attaining my goals. I figured there was no way I would go in to a contest with the mindset to lose. I knew in 10 weeks my body would do a complete 180 degree turn. So I decided to join the challenge.

The Review

As with all supplements that I have tried or have been recommended to me I had some skepticism on how well CreaDyl and NO-Beta would work for me. I had taken a few other creatine and NO2 products in past summers in an attempt to put on some weight before the season would start up again and I?ve had some good experiences with supplements and some seemed like a waste of money. Nonetheless, I decided already in my head that I was going to take these products as prescribed and believe in them to help me no matter what.

I was extremely anxious to begin the challenge to say the least. As soon as I received my order from BBC I started to try and map out what day to start and what routine and split I would use. I read up on other essential supplements I should include in my regimen and I read endless amounts of articles on training. Not being a complete novice to periodization and training splits, I used what I learned from my collegiate athletic experience to help me plan my 10 week attack. I know my body and I know how much time I need to recover and at what pace I can train.

My split turned out to be a 5 day on 2 day off split with Wednesdays and Sundays being my off days.

Mon: Legs ? Quad Focus
Tues: Chest/Biceps
Wed: Off
Thurs: Back
Fri: Legs ? Ham Focus
Sat: Shoulders/Triceps
Sun: Off

I settled on some supplements to add and they were Fish Oil, Centrum MultiVitamins, Glucosamine + Chondroitin & MSM, and NitroTech Protein (which became EAS Premium Protein once I ran out of NitroTech). I added Hydroxycut Hardcore my last 2 weeks and GlutaCene my last week.

November 24th was day 1 of my challenge. I chose to go ahead and start on this day because I would end my challenge on my birthday weekend, and that way I would have more than one thing to celebrate. I started out with only 3 pills morning and 3 pills pre-workout with the NO-Beta. With CreaDyl I did 1 scoop for my pre/during workout drink and 1 scoop later in the day.

I didn?t want to rave about either product prematurely. The first week I thought to myself that my intensity may be up just a tad due to a placebo effect. I wanted to give the products 2 weeks before I started my real assessment against how my training was going before I started taking NO-Beta and CreaDyl.

When it comes to the weight room you can ask anyone who has ever trained with me; I?m intense. I don?t like rest and I don?t like light weight. I probably put in more work in the weight room than I did in on the track. Well, I thought I was intense before. I was really starting to experience the effects of the products and I knew I wasn?t just telling myself that they were working. I know they were working.

After my morning dose of NO-Beta I would experience slight pumps without even touching a weight. I would on and off get minor tingling sensations, but never any jitters or anxious feelings like I have had with other NO2 products. NO-Beta is truly a fast acting formula because I would take my pre-workout dose right before I walked out the door to drive to the gym and I would already start to feel the effects by the time I got to the gym. My pumps were huge; no one could tell me a damn thing. I thought I was the biggest thing walking. And they only got better when I increased my doses.

I already took short rests between sets and I really didn?t notice a huge change in my rest the first week but when that second week rolled around I knew the CreaDyl was kicking in. Not only could I take even less rest but I could handle a little more weight more quickly. So instead of waiting a minute and a half to do the same weight and reps I only had to wait a minute and I would be fine. And the part that I really like about CreaDyl is that there was no loading phase where you would have to rip halfway through the tub just to get started.

Week 4 rolled around and I increased my NO-Beta dosage. I still left my morning dose at 3 pills but I went up to 5 pills pre-workout. I also went to 1 ? scoops of CreaDyl for my workout dose. The stuff was starting to work so good that I recommended it to a friend at the gym. My pumps were beginning to feel insane. I got my first stretch marks on my inner thighs and one on my left front delt. My biceps would get so engorged and it felt as if my blood was boiling and my skin was going to explode. I actually started to cut some of my bicep and tricep sets down because they would be so swollen already.

At this point I was very confident that my body had responded extremely well to the products. Before, I used to go really light on my second leg day because I would never fully recover between leg days but I really wanted to hit them twice. By week four I was going heavy and hard and I would feel fresh for every leg day. The CreaDyl was beyond a doubt doing its job.

Week 6 is when I made my final increase in dosage. I was now taking 6 NO-Beta pills before my workout and 2 scoops of the CreaDyl. From this point on is what really made me a believer. Week 5 had been a de-load week to give my muscles a rest from pounding the weights with such intensity for 4 weeks straight. In week 6 I didn?t even need a week or 2 to pyramid back up to the weight I was handling after week 4, I just jumped right back into the big boy end of the dumbbell rack.

There were times I felt a little beat up but after I had increased my doses week 4 I always felt brand new and rejuvenated despite working midnight to 8 a.m. and getting inconsistent sleep. Week 6 is also when I started my cardio. During week 6-8 I was doing a cardio routine that looked like this:

Wednesday - 35min treadmill jog
Friday - 45min stationary bike
Sunday - 30min Stationary bike / 15min treadmill

During my last 2 weeks I decided I was losing weight a little bit faster than I wanted so I went to low impact cardio and just walked on the treadmill at an incline and I started adding low impact cardio at the end of my workouts as well. The cardio my last 2 weeks looked as follows:

Daily: Morning walk 35-45min
Daily: Post-Workout walk 15min

My last 2 weeks is when the benefits of my hard work and dedication showed up big time. The strength gains were as clear as day. Going up in reps for the last 2 weeks I went back to flat bench, which I had not done any of this whole time, and managed 245lbs for 14 reps. Now for me that is quite the achievement considering I was weighing in at 176lbs that day and had not flat benched since August 2009. My bent over rows were just as heavy for 15 reps as they were for 10 reps 2 weeks previous.

The effects of CreaDyl and NO-Beta did not diminish over time as they do with a lot of other supplements that I have tried. Others would need to exceed the recommended dose just to get the same pump or feeling. CreaDyl stacked with NO-Beta has me extremely focused and energetic in the gym and my recovery is always super quick. I could do a set to failure and be ready to rep out another set in as little as a minute and a half.

I absolutely cannot say I could have made the gains that I made on my strength and physique in such a short period of time without this stack. The effects are no BS. Initially I just wanted to drop a little bit of body fat to try and get some definition and lines back while adding some muscle to my frame. This stack put me above and beyond what I was looking for. My physique looked like what I was going for from the start at around week 7, so I had nowhere to go but up.

The CreaDyl and NO-Beta stack has taken me this far so I will continue to use it and recommend it to other dedicated people I see fighting for that extra rep in the gym. I was down and out and unmotivated before this challenge and my attitude has been flipped completely upside down. I know I can have the physique I want and was used to having and I will never fall so far off track again.

If you want something that is going to help give you that extra push in the gym and that edge over your genetic limitations you should definitely give this stack a try.

Incredible transformation!! Youve given me a lil boost of inspiration and can related to you as a former college athlete. The same diet definately doesnt apply after college and I just saw my figure go out of window. Your blog and photos make me think I can have the same success, thanks a lot and nice work.

DEFINITELY cant get away with the same diet when you don't have coaches barking at you to kill yourself everyday! I hope you end up with the same success, just keep sticking to the game plan

Dude, your back is sick! Did you stick with DTS supps solely, or did you throw some others in?

I threw some others in, nothing major just the basics but the basics are essential. I used a multivitamin and fish oil and a glucosamine complex to keep my joints healthy and protein powder. I used nitrotech for my protein for half the time then I went to EAS premium protein since its pretty cheap at costco. I also threw in some hydroxycut hardcore and GlutaCene the last couple weeks.

I am planning on doing the Rocky Mountain Championships this November but I will decide for sure if I will when the end of July, beginning of August rolls around and assess my overall progress then before I cut. I don't want to compete just to do it, thats not how I am. I dont want to compete until I feel for sure I will be competitive for a top spot!
