I just started the Starting Strength (Rippetoe sp?) workout. Motivation always starts high but I am working out by myself in the garage. Anyone else managing to keep up the motivation while working out by themselves?

Check youtube videos. Watching Arnold, Levrone, Yates, ect. pose/lift really makes me want to lift.

I workout alone at home too. There's plenty of stuff here to keep you motivated.

I installed a mirror in my basement gym.....to check form....But I also have found that it motivates also....I see daily changes in my body... I also listen to the radio....I like alternative music....when I hear a song that kicks ass....I get more intense in my lifting.....

I'm only new, but what gets me motivated the most is when people say I will never do it.
4 years ago I was a smoker, I decided one day that I was going to quit starting tomorrow, my friends, partner, everyone I knew said you won't do it, espically cold turkey. That was 4 years ago, not touched a smoke since.
I decided i want to get fit, get my size down, feel good about myself again, I told people this is what I am going to do, no matter how long it takes. Ideally would like to get my total body fat down below 10%, people laugh, say you will never do it. This is my motivation. i want to be able to say i did when you said i couldn't.
Maybe if you lack motivation tell people what you are trying to achieve, people always cast doubt, use that to shove it in their face when you achieve your goals.
just my 2 cents

Thanks for all the replies! I got some music playing now and I need to get a mirror.

I set a goal (keep in mind that I am a noob) to gain 30 lbs by mid June. I don't know if its realistic or not. One of my friends at work says I could never do it, and that I couldn't get more than 20. So my new goal is to gain more than 20 lbs by June. I am eating constantly!
