Gary just posted changes to this year's event. Most notably;

Now two pro cards in open men's BB division for winner and runnerup in overall.

And pro card for each overall winner of men's over 40 and over 50 BB divisions (which is same as last year).

Two pro cards for women BB (overall open division and overall over 35 winners)

Three pro cards in figure (overall winner and runnerup in open division plus overall winner in over 35 division)

Three pro cards in bikini (overall winner and runnerup in open division and overall winner of over 35 division)

PLUS, there will be a teen men's BB division for the first time!

Bravo, Gary

It's about time they gave out a 2nd pro card to the bodybuilders (men & women) at this show! There are so few pro cards given to bodybuilders in the US each year compared to other countries.

Agreed, this is a positive thing for BB. But it could be worse, as there are less pro card opportunities for BB in other contries like Canada, UK, etc.

There may be less opportunities in other countries, but the level of competition and number of competitors is way less than in the US. For example, the 2009 Canadian Nationals only had 3 Super-Heavyweights, 15 Heavy, & 8 Light-Heavy competitors. Compare that to the US Nationals (22 Supers, 30 Heavy, 37 Light-Heavy) or the USA's (27 Supers, 26 Heavy, 31 Light-Heavy). Look at some of the bodybuilders turning Pro in other countries and compare them to the top National competitors in the US. The level of competition is much higher in the US than in most other countries.
