Alright lads 1 and a half weeks ago i went to the doctors with an abdominal injury and the doctor said it could possibly be a hernia, he told me to rest it for 3 weeks so only another 1 and a half left. What i wonder is how much muscle will i lose in this 3 week lay off? I heard you lose muscle twice as fast as you gain it so does this mean that the 6 weeks before the injury were wasted? I really hope it was just a tear of the abdominals and not a hernia as i don't think i can stand much longer out of the gym.

You shouldn't lose much if you stick to your eating habits. If your on a high carb/ high protein diet, keep with it, even on your days off. The rest would probably do your body some good- full recuperation and add just a bit of fat to you. Nothing to trouble yourself over. Good luck and get well soon!

Ahh thats good to know thanks, yeah i've upped my protein slightly and dropped my calories slightly as well to try and keep the weight down and also to help the recovery from the injury. I'm glad that i won't have lost much.
