Starting Friday, January 1, 2010 I began the Double T Sports Transformation Challenge.

Brief history of how I got to this point:

Two years ago I was on track to step onto the figure stage for the first time. Then some friends of mine asked to join their Marathon Relay team. I thought, hell why not? Long story short, our five member team dwindled down to three just two months out from the race. Which meant that two of us (me being one of the two) had to take on two legs of the race. Turning my 5 mile run into 9 miles. Keep in mind I had not run more than two miles in my life and that was pretty much against my will (the Army is kind of like that). So anyway, now I had two months to get my legs running 9.3 miles. HA! I know, right?

Anyway, so I left the weights in the gym, my goals to compete in my back pocket and strapped on my running shoes for the long haul. Needless to say, I had no idea how to train for long distance running. In the beginning I tried to maintain a healthy eating schedule but who knew that running mile after mile each day would make you hungry? Apparently I didn't.

Next thing I know, race time is nearing and my waistline is bulging. I managed to gain 15 pounds. I'd love to say it was 15 pounds of lean, mean muscle, but nope. Somehow, despite all the running, chips and soda doesn't turn into usable energy.

So here I sit, one year later...yes, one year and still carrying around that 15 pounds and I am completely grossed out by it. Add on top of that a scoop of disappointment and dash of embarrassment and voila, here you have my self esteem.

I had lost just about all motivation UNTIL I came across this challenge, Double T Sports 10 Week Transformation Challenge.

So I ordered up the CreaDyl in Lemon-Lime and am now just waiting on my order of NO-Beta.

But not one to want to waste another second, I started the challenge on Friday and hope to have the NO-Beta tomorrow.

Current Weight: 138.5 pounds

Today's Workout:

Lat Pulldown 3?6, 1?4 #10 plate
Dumbbell Decline Bench 3?6, 1?4 25?s
Close Stance Deadlifts 3?10 95lbs
HIIT on elliptical, 15 second sprint, 45 second recovery x10

Food: Today's diet wasn't that great, but it wasn't horrible. My calories were just too low.

My goal is to keep up my protein and fat and minimize carbs. I'll take two days on the weekend to carb up and then go back to low carbs.

Despite the low calories my energy levels were up.

I took 1 scoop of CreaDyl right before my workout and had about 4 ounces during my workout.

The type of workout I'm following is based on tempo, so I lift as much as I can in a short amount of time to meet my reps and then rest. This breaks down into three days of lifting followed by a 10 minute cardio workout. Inbetween lifting days, I will do abs and cardio. On the weekends I like doing yoga.

So, CreaDyl, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this stuff. The taste is actually pleasant, like a melted sherbert. Now being someone who doesn't actually care for sherbert, this is a sherbert I can tolerate very well.

My strength and energy in the gym was great, and afterwards while sitting at my desk, I didn't get run down like I tend to do around 3pm. Instead of wanting to get coffee at 3, I was happily working away. Well, "happily" is a stretch but I was in a good mood and feeling content.

I will keep the dosage to 1 scoop a day for this week. Once I add in the NO-Beta I'll figure out if I want to up the CreaDyl.

Took 1 scoop of CreaDyl and within 10 minutes I started feeling tingling all over, from my scalp to the back of my legs. My ears turned red and I had red splotches all over. So weird.

I started my workout and was a little uncomfortable with the tingling sensation but figured it would go away soon.

My workout consisted of 30 minutes of cardio. I did hill intervals on the recumbant bike.

About halfway through my workout the tingling went away. I noticed that throughout my workout I was able to really push through times when I had the slightest notion of easing up. Pushing through the harder climbs was really satisfying.

I really feel so much more focused when I take CreaDyl. And considering I workout during my lunch hour, the effects of extra-focus and energy linger into the latter part of my workday and THAT is a welcome addition to my day.

Food for the day:

3 whole eggs
1 cup spinach
1 slice of Rye toast

Coffee

2 bananas

6 ounces of Salmon
2 Wasa crackers

Protein shake

2 Bean Burger patties

1 serving of Laughing Cow cheese
5 whole wheat crackers

1 cup coffee

The tingling that you were feeling was from the beta-alanine in Creadyl! It is nothing to worry about. I'm subscribing to your log to keep up with your progress!!! Have you joined the Double-T Sports Bulging Biceps Team? The link to the group and to my log for this challenge is in my signature down below. Good luck to you and keep working hard!

Thanks, I did join the Bulging Biceps group and I'll be following along with your log as well.

I think what surprised me with the tingling was that this was the third time I had taken it but the first time I had experienced that. But now that I know what to expect I won't think too much about it. Thanks, good luck to you as well!

Are you using just the Creadyl for this transformation? Also, I'd start out with a 1/2 scoop of Creadyl, I use a full scoop but I'm alot heftier than you :o

I'll be following along  Good luck :D

At the moment I'm just using Creadyl but have NO-Beta on the way. I'm hoping I get it tomorrow.

I started out with 1 scoop and haven't had any problems, except what happened today. I'll try 1 scoop again tomorrow but if it happens again, then maybe I'll cut back to half. Thanks for the tip!

My workout scheduled got screwed up yesterday, I decided to meet with a friend for lunch instead of working out since today is her last day. I figured I'd just workout as soon as I got home before running two of my boys to wrestling practice.

I mixed one scoop of Creadyl to drink before leaving work so I'd have it in my system to workout as soon as I got home. On the ride home I was tingling all over. I must have looked like a crazed lunatic with all the moving around I was doing. Sitting in my car, my lower half was tingling so bad, it was really uncomfortable.

Made it home and did not get in a good workout, I was just so rushed.

We didn't get home from wrestling until 9pm, so I just ate something, showered and headed to bed.

I'm looking forward to making up my workout today and I'm going to cut back to half a scoop of Creadyl for the next few days.

The awesome news is that I'm down 2.5 pounds and the first week is just ending. Hopefully I can keep that up!

Thanks! Yes, I was hoping to have had the NO-Beta shipped to me by the beginning of this week but I still haven't gotten it.

You look amazing by the way! It'll be interesting to see how you change (or improve as you put it) in the next 9 weeks.

Good job on the weightloss. :)

Thank you!

Today I tried a half scoop of Creadyl before my leg workout. I felt good during my workout but I think I'm going to go to a 3/4 of the scoop next time. I think that will be just right for me. I also got my NO Beta today, woot woot!

I haven't done a serious leg workout in a while, I have a way of wimping out halfway through and not pushing myself as hard I could. This time I decided I needed to not wuss out and get through it.

I need to remember bring my wraps to the gym on leg day, I deadlift so much more with wraps.

On to the show:

Barbell Squats, 3x15, 45lbs
due to a lack of a squat rack I can only load so much up and get it up on my shoulders. So to make this workout a little harder with this weight I did 10 squats and then 5 slow tempo squats for each set. This seemed to challenge my quads so I'll do this again but increase the number of slow tempo squats

Leg Extension, 3x8, #8 plate

Lying Leg Curl, 3x8, #7 plate

Calf Press on Leg Press, 3x15, 90lbs

Single Leg Press on Leg Press, high foot placement
these I did with only the sled, no weight
3x10

I had wanted to do some SLDL's but ran out of time. The gym I go to is at my workplace and the equipment is so limited. I wasn't able to get in all I wanted to do.

Decline Situps 2x15
Ab Machine 3x8 #8 plate

So depending on how much snow we get, I may not make it into work tomorrow. I can still workout at home though so I will be giving the NO Beta a try as well. Looking forward to trying it out!

Nice, I understand what you mean with the squats....my wife is reluctant to put much on a bar as well.

I'd recommend just keeping it at a 1/2 scoop of Creadyl if today worked out good because......NO-Beta has more beta-alanine and niacin which can give you that "itchy" feeling

So I say it'd be best to just do a 1/2 scoop of Creadyl and 3 NO-Beta, just to see how you tolerate that. I've seen that most women are using about 5 NO-Beta once they've been using it regularly. Its always best to start low and work your way up. Just a thought :) Keep up the good work!

Good workout! Since you are limited with equipment, have you tried "sissy squats?" I do these sometimes and they are brutal! All you need is something to hold onto as you lean back and squat.

I would definitely go with 1/2 scoop Creadyl and 3 NO-Beta the first time to assess tolerance. Good Luck!

Good thinking, didn't factor in the NO-Beta yet when considering the Creadyl dosage. I'll do that, 1/2 scoop and 3 No-Beta. Thanks for the help!

I've actually been too embarrassed to do these in my gym but I will get over that and try them out. I get enough looks as it is being the only female there that actually lifts weights as opposed to holding them as an accessory, it sometimes inhibits me from doing stuff I'd like to do.

You're both definitely right, I'm just going to do what I need to do.

Today was my first day taking NO-Beta. I took 3 of them and then 1/2 scoop of Creadyl. I experienced some tingling in my hands and feet but that was it. I felt strong and focused during my workout. I don't know what benefit the NO-Beta may have given me but I know that I love Creadyl. I can this being a staple for me for a long time.

Workout:

Hammer Curls 3x8, 20lbs
Alternating DB Shoulder Press 3x8, 15lbs
Preacher Curls 3x8, 40lbs
Arnold Press 3x8, 15lbs
21's 2 sets, 20 lbs
Cable Crunch 4x15 #7 plate

On a separate note, I was just told that there is Pirates vs Ninja dodgeball for the Wii! Oh my gosh, how could I now have known this!! I need to have this game.

I just act like i own the gym and respectfully do what i need to do to get what i need to get done. I have noticed i get a lot of respect for that, which is interesting... not the biggest guy in the gym but the biggest guys all respect me.

i started with 1/2 a scoop of CreaDyl for the first week to build up some tolerance since the first time i took it I had.... well lets just say... i needed to use the restroom a bit more, lol.

after that first week i was fine with a full scoop. with that and the NO-beta my workouts are WAY better.

Sub'd btw... need to know what the competition is up to :-)

jovinni add a set of 4 of something called frog squats but put your butt toward the mirror in fact go somewhere that people aren't. they will light you up as a finisher.

The rest of you guys tell her about NO-Beta - that will be your funnest supplement ever

Take them separate I mean the CreaDyl do your no-beta 15 minutes before training and then CreaDyl when you feel the tingleling going away should be approximately 10 minutes into it

the NO-Beta will be more noticeable after a couple of days of use, you should start feeling your endurance during the workouts getting alot better. For me, the recovery between sets and exercises is the biggest benefit from NO-Beta....that and the pumps :D

I want a Wii

Not much to report today. I have not worked out today or taken any of my supplements. We were at a wrestling tournament from 7:45am until 4:30pm. What an intense environment. My husband and I were scorekeepers today (our first time), I felt so bad for some of the kids that were screaming and crying....so intense....

It's much different then when you're in the stands watching.

I haven't had the best meals today but we tried to be mindful of what we were putting into our bodies as much as we could. Just glad to be home so we can eat steaks and drink wine.

We have more wrestling tomorrow so I'm hoping to get to bed early.

I haven't had much to post yesterday or today. I'm sitting on my couch pouting right now. I've been sick the last couple of days and I'm being a baby about it. My husband has been taking care of me though so I'm debating on milking this cow.

I'm hoping that I'll be up and running by tomorrow. I have GOT to get back into my workouts. And eating right. As it is now my eating schedule is nonexistent. My throat has been so sore I've been living off of tea and honey. The plus side is maybe I will have lost a pound or two from this ;)

Anyway, just wanted to throw an update in here.

Not trying to be a dick in any way, but I know whenever I got sick, I just dosed up on vitamin C and did cardio daily. The sickness went away within 3 days and I still was getting a workout out of it.

Just some advice.

Good luck

heh....

Thanks for the advice, I always have that mindset when I get sick, you know the whole "as long as the sickness is above the chest, you can still workout". But then reality sets in. Call me old but my body doesn't function like that anymore. When I'm sick, I'm better off just resting. Otherwise I'd just be a grumpy mess for my family and that's not cool.

And a slight side note, I am starting to feel a little better.

I'm feeling better today, my throat no longer feels like I swallowed razor blades so that's a definite improvement. Tomorrow marks the end of my second week and I feel like I've lost out. So I have 8 weeks left to really kill it, and kill it I will.

My husband (I'll refer to him as G since I tend to reference him a lot in here).....G started using the Creadyl. He called me up today and asks "WHY does my head itch and my ears and neck feel like they're burning?!" Ha, poor guy. I tried to warn him. It kind of freaked him out since he's never experienced that before, same with me. I told him it's the beta-alanine so he said he was going to look it up. I haven't heard from him since :)

Over the weekend I re-worked my workout schedule so that I'm doing legs twice a week and hitting the other muscles groups once a week. Having missed Monday and Tuesday's workouts, I'm just cutting my losses and jumping into Wednesday's plan.

I felt great during my workout. I know I can go heavier in some exercises, I will just have to utilize drop sets to build up those muscles. I will start doing that from now on.

Actually, yes I tried the pb green beans - count em - THREE times day! They really aren't bad :) I don't know what I thought it would taste like but this is a very doable combo to incorporate into my diet. So for that you get a thumbs up my friend :)

Yeah, I told my husband that it's normal to feel that tingle and he didn't believe me, heh. I asked him if he was feeling better a little bit ago and he said yes, so I guess he's over it

I'm feeling a bit sore in my shoulders. These supplements are fantastic. I believe there is a number of factors that I'm benefiting from doing this challenge. For one, I'm simply more motivated in the gym. So while I may have wussed out during sets of my usual workout, I am forcing myself to give it my all. Secondly, the Creadyl and NO-Beta are really helping me stay focused and energized for my workouts. I feel strong and alert, it's great! Third, I am not tortured with DOMS which I greatly attribute to the Double-T supps. Double-T where have you been all my life?!

Today was leg day and while most days I dread it, I was actually looking forward to it. I was a little rushed during my workout because I had so much work waiting for me at my desk so I didn't feel great about the workout but I think I challenged muscles pretty well.

12:45 pm - Supplements
3 NO-Beta
Fifteen minutes later - 1/2 scoop Creadyl

1:30 pm - Workout (Legs - Hamstrings)
Lying Leg Curl (hips on pad) 3x8 60lbs

Lying Leg Curl (hips off pad) 3x8 50 lbs
- these were hard to maintain form. I read that this would target different areas of the hams so I figured I'd try. I may not do this again unless I find out this really is worth doing.

Narrow Stance ss w/ Wide Stance on Leg Press 4x10
- ended up changing my original method. I started warming up with just the sled and then decided to just do two consecutive sets of narrow stance leg press supersetted with wide stance. So in one set I did 40 presses. Repeat three more times. Holy cow my legs were burning!

Lying Leg Curl 21's 3 sets 40 lbs
- I liked these, I felt a slow burn in my hamstrings, I'll keep these in my workout

Sissy Squats 4x8
- these were tough, I wanted to do more reps but I was crunched for time

3:30 pm - Meal 4 (post workout)
tuna with fresh lime
green beans
peanut butter

black tea

6 pm - Meal 5

Baked chicken

9 pm - Meal 6

shake

Other news: G signed me up for a membership to the gym that he uses so I'll be able to go there to focus on things I can't fit into my lunch time workouts, namely cardio. This will be a huge help! With the wrestling and basketball season wrapping up, I'll be able to schedule more time for working out after work. Well, at least for a little while, that is until BMX and soccer start up. But this still gives me a couple of months of not having to shuttle around the boys in the evenings.

Pb green beans are taking over the world! Haha.

Glad to hear that you are upgrading gyms. This is going to accelerate your progress even more!

Nice Legs workout. Supersets and 21's are killers!

I don't take NO-Beta on off days, but I still take Creadyl on them. Glad you are enjoying the combo and seeing and feeling the benefits!

Thanks for the comment about my daughter! She is the love of my life. We have another little girl coming in March, and that is soooooo EXCITING!

I'm really looking forward to having a bigger gym to use. And to have one that I can only really use during the workday will be a huge benefit. Especially today since I am skipping my workout to have lunch with the fam. Now I can go to the gym tomorrow :)

Yea, I'm just going to be taking the Creadyl on my days off. I'm really loving these products.

Congratulations!! That's so exciting!! My boys are entering teen/pre-teen phase and it makes miss the little toddlers they once were, but then again it's really cool watching them grow up. Two little girls....boy you aren't going to know what to do with yourself :) I always tell my husband if we ever have/had a daughter, it would be the end of him. He's a sucker for little girls.

Today marks Day 1 of my third week of the challenge. I weighed in this morning, not expecting much and BAM! I'm down two more pounds. Crazy right?

So I am now 134 pounds

My legs are just a touch sore from yesterday's workout, my shoulders are still a little achy but it's fading.

I was going to workout today but G and the boys want to meet me for lunch for my birthday (which was yesterday). So I will make up my workout tomorrow and throw in some cardio.

My meals will reflect much of what I've been doing except I'm out of green beans (Drooks, a tragedy of epic proportions I'm sure) so I've got brussels sprouts instead.

Happy Friday everyone!

Thanks, I may do that. If anything for my own reference.

Quick recap of the weekend:

Saturday, I did not make it to the gym like I had planned. Two of my boys were with friends for the day and G was at work so it was prime chill time with my youngest. So that's what we did.

Today I did the usual, church and wrestling. G and I are going to head out to the gym once the Jets/Chargers game is over.

My energy is really low today so I'm looking forward to the NO-Beta and Creadyl to perk me up. G is continuing to use the Creadyl as well so it looks like I'll be re-ordering soon. Which is cool, may give the orange flavor a try this time.

Back from my workout. G and I managed to workout together for the first time in a long time and we hit a personal best, we did NOT want to kill each other! It was actually a lot of fun :) We're going to plan more workouts together. We managed to push each other a bit, it was really nice.

6:15 - 3 NO-Beta's
6:30 - 1/2 scoop Creadyl

7pm workout - Back/Bi's

Reverse Grip Lat Pulldown 4x8 140lbs
Facepulls 4x8 50lbs
Single Arm Lat Pulldown 4x8 80lbs
DB Row 3x8 25lbs, 1x8 30lbs - will just do 30's from now on build from there
Bicep Curls 3x8 20lbs
Hammer Curls 2x8 15lbs
Cross Body Hammer Curl 2x8 15lbs

Workout felt pretty well. The beginning was a little off, we spent a good 10 minutes just kind of laughing and joking around. But once we got focused I felt really strong and alert (thanks to the NO-Beta and Creadyl no doubt)

Thanks! We had a lot of fun, which we weren't expecting :) We've always been able to do just about anything together, with the exception of working out. Apparently we're both experts so we try to correct one another. But this time we just had fun. I think he really sees now how seriously I take it so we were able finally on level ground.

Looks pretty good. Keep at it!

Thanks :)

Despite getting decent sleep last night I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning. All morning I was groggy and just feeling drained. With the kind of work I do, which is highly detail oriented, I was finding myself transposing numbers and making other big-little mistakes.

Meal 1 - 1 whole egg, 4 egg whites

black tea

Meal 2 - pb and green beans, protein shake

Meal 3 - pb and green beans, protein shake, orange

1:15 pm - 3 NO-Beta (going to increase this tomorrow)

1:30 pm - 1/2 scoop Creadyl

1:50 pm - Workout

Narrow Stance Squats - 3x8 75lbs (I wanted to go heavier but the tingling in my hands was really distracting)
Leg Extension - 3x8 80lbs (feet flexed); 3x8 60lbs (toe outward); 3x8 70lbs (foot pointed)
Leg Press - 1x15 90lbs; 1x15 110lbs; 1x15; 130lbs; 1x15 140lbs
Sissy Squats 2x10
Calf Raises 3x15 (holding 20lbs dumbbell)

Meal 4 - pb and brussel sprouts (mmmm...LOVE brussel sprouts!), 2 veggie burgers patties

This evening I'm hoping to do an ab workout. I haven't been putting much energy into abs so I will try to single out at least two days to devote time to a solid abs workout

NO-Beta and Creadyl
Once again, these supps delivered! Maybe I should just take these in the morning to get me focused for work and then again for my workouts.

A point I feel the need to call-out is how easy I find it to get the NO-Beta pills down. So many supplements in pill form are huge and have a coating on them that you taste right away and makes me gag. I was nervous about starting on these but I learned I had nothing to be apprehensive about. These pills go down very easily and there is no disgusting taste during or after I take them. This is a HUGE plus to these supplements.

That in addition to the decent tasting Creadyl, Double-T has made taking these supplements easy to take. Where before I would dread having to get down my supplements, I have no hesitation with taking these.

Drooks managed to redeem himself with the peanut butter and green beans, they really aren't bad at all. I would have never tried it except that I was reading up on the cutdiet and that combo seems prevalent. I'm glad I tried it :)

What do you think of the taste with Creadyl? I'm starting to love the Orange, maybe more than the lemon-lime now :D

Your right about taking Creadyl on your off days, its a good idea to use either regularly....you want to supplement both beta-alanine and creatine daily, both NO-Beta and Creadyl contain these.

Quick post cuz the chillin's are home and need help with their homework.

I didn't go into work today because my oldest had an ortho appointment. Poor kid had to get braces. So anyway, I went to the gym this morning to get in a workout and am hoping I can get in some ab and cardio work tonight if I time things just right.

Workout:
I had intended to get in a well stocked chest/shoulder/tri exercise but I ended up with limited time and since it's my triceps that need the most attention most of my workout focused on them.

DB Chest Press 3x8 20lbs
DB Chest Fly 2x10 12 lbs

Front Raise 3x8 15lbs
Lateral Raise 3x8 12lbs

Skullcrushers 3x8-PC/8-FRM 30lbs
Cable Tricep Pushdown 3x8-PC/8-FRM 40lbs
Rope Tricep Pressdown 3x8-PC 30lbs/8-FRM 10lbs

The triceps workout was BRUTAL. I felt like such a girly-man, but I embraced it. I think I'll be doing this workout again once a week. I really felt like I was pushing my muscles at a high intensity. I know this because of the slight whimpers escaping my mouth.

Good stuff, when I got back home I had trouble using my arms to apply chapstick. Now if that's not a good workout, I don't know what is!

Supps:

I upped my NO-Beta's today to 4 pills.

I started sipping on the Creadyl on the drive to the gym and my face started tingling. When I got to the gym (15 minutes later) my chest and neck were covered in red splotches, which has been typical.

The tingling went away very quickly this time though, probably within 10 minutes of getting to the gym. I'm all about setting personal bests...that's just how I roll.

Fun stuff:
I am new to this gym so I know that when I get in there I'm going to be the new face. Well there were these two guys....I'm guessing college age. They were pretty tough looking *sarcasm* Anyway, so the one keeps eyeing me and I just keep on ignoring him.

Well at one point I walked away from my bench to get an EZ bar. I had left my cell phone (which I use as a stopwatch) on the bench and my shaker bottle with my GREEN colored Creadyl in it, on the floor.

I saw the one that was staring at me walk over to my bench and sort of just circle it - ever so nonchalantly so I would not notice. He looks down at my phone and then at my shaker bottle and when I'm coming back I hear him tell his buddy "It's orange juice".

This is where the term "nimrod" comes flying to the front of my mind. Yes, that's right, I'm drinking green orange juice. Its just a couple days past the expiration date but eh, what the hell.

I moved to the cables after that so I no longer was under their scrutiny.

Conclusion:
Great workout, wish I had been able to spend more time on it but that's all right. I made the time that I had count and that's what's important.

Made it to the gym again this evening:

Cardio:
Recumbent Bike - 30 minute intervals on level 4

Abs

Workout was good, really pushed myself during the intense moments. I think my legs are going to be sore tomorrow.

Not sure I'm too thrilled with the crowd at 6pm. Lots of college jocks that just stand around talking too loud about how they aren't trying to impress anyone, scoping out the girls and dropping the f-bomb because that's standard procedure when you're a bad a$$.

Body Review:
I am sore. Sore. Sore. Sore. Not horribly, but enough that every move I make reminds me my body is made up of soft tissue, muscles and nerve endings.

Today at lunch I'll just do some walking and then this evening I'll cardio and abs. Legs are tomorrow with back and bi's on Friday.

Supps:
I will take 1/2 scoop of Creadyl today and then another 1/2 tonight before I go to the gym.

Random Thoughts:
Having 'one of those days' at work. I try to stay positive and upbeat about my job. I'm very blessed to 1) have a job and 2) have a job where I get along with everyone, but still, there are those days that I whine and complain about not wanting to be here. This is one of those days. Where the work is piling up and I just look at my desk, not knowing where to even start. *sigh* Well, it's better than being bored.

I'm thinking that I may wake up earlier than usual to start doing daily devotions. I've noticed when I've come across scripture at unexpected moments it brings me peace of mind. Yesterday morning I turned on the tv (which I never do) and there was an excited pastor sharing the gospel :) and I stood and watched for a moment and then he quoted John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

That's all I needed to start out my day with a positive feeling. If I can plan and commit to a regimen of eating a certain way, at certain times and consistently make time for my workouts, it would be regretful to not include this into my regimen for living.

I do agree, soreness is kind of nice, almost a good feeling :)

except when you're sore in the glutes and hams and sitting down on a toilet brings tears to your eyes...that's a sore I can do without!

Update from yesterday:
I took an unintentional rest day. I didn't workout at lunch because I had too much work to do but figured I'd just go to the gym, as planned with G. We were supposed to go at 7:30 but when I woke him up to go he was sick as a dog. I had planned on still going but he asked me to stay with him. Baby. :) So I stayed, and pouted a little bit. Then got over it.

We are going to the gym tonight though and we had better because I'm not working out at lunch time again.

The plan is bi's, back and shoulders tonight with some cardio.

So we gave the Bulging Bicep workout a shot. KILLER! I warned G that it was going to be tough and he was game. Not exactly excited but figured he'll just go with it. So I told him to start out with lighter weights than what he's used to and he was looking at me with a skeptical look. I explained the program and we began. Ha, he was so mad me! He kept giving me dirty looks throughout the workout. SO hilarious!

This workout is definitely one to put you in your place. My weights were embarrassingly light:

Barbell Curls - 30lbs
Dumbbell Curls - 12lbs (dropped down to 10lbs on the last set)
Preacher Curls - 30lbs

I really felt like my arms were going to fall off. But not just fall off in one fell swoop. No, no. It felt more like I was being cruelly dismembered. First my fingers, than my hands, the forearms were next and then finally, my arms were being severed at the shoulder.

Insane workout! I will feel bad though if G is really sore tomorrow. He's working his 24 and if he's on a med unit, "the city is going to be in trouble" as he put it :)

So anyway, once G was done crying and I picked him up off the floor we headed over to the elliptical. We both did 20 minutes of intervals. Intensity Level 5, Recovery Level 2

By the end of it all, my arms and glutes were numb. Workout has been deemed a success.

Oh my goodness, how could I forget! Glutacene was on my kitchen table to welcome me home from a hard day at work :D I received strawberry and it was actually quite delicious! I'm now sharing my Double-T supps with G and so he tried out the Glutacene as well. He wasn't so keen on the flavor but I don't know what his problem is. I think it taste like Kool-Aid. We took it after our workout.

Again, Double-T Sports products are amazing! It's hard to believe that these kind of supplements can actually taste good. For years I have choked down many nasty tasting supplements but I have not been disappointed one bit from these.

No longer do I dread having to take something to assist and/or enhance my workouts. It really helps me stay motivated towards working towards my goals knowing that I don't have to stop what I'm doing to pep talk my way into drinking some acidic tasting solution or swallow some pill that leaves an instant nauseating aftertaste.

And the effects of these supplements are immediately noticeable.

The strawberry glutacene is da bomb! I just got wildberry a couple of days ago so I will be starting it pretty soon, too. I know that it will taste great as well. Double-T does it right!

Congrats on being a finalist in the Rio Promotion too!

Thanks good buddy!!

Sounds like you guys had an awesome workout, next time mix up the glutacene and take it with ya

I did that this evening. And managed to spill it down the front of my shirt in the gym. So classy.

Thanks for the words on Double T products! They really are fantastic.

Indeed they are, it's definitely not hard to find something nice to say about them.

So I'm really really tired right now and I'm trying to usher my boys through their showers and into bed so I can do the same so this update will be quick.

I did not get in a great workout tonight. I felt kind of bad leaving my oldest on his own while his brothers were at practice so I invited him to work out with me. We ended up just doing back work and I spent most of the time just showing him how to do the exercises. I lifted heavy but my pace was slow. I took 4 NO-Beta and a 3/4 scoop of CreaDyl but I didn't feel much of an effect. I think it's because I ate too close to the time that I took the supps but I didn't have much choice. I need to time that stuff really well.

Tomorrow I'm going to work legs focusing on hamstrings and I'll be sure to time my eating and supplements right. I have a feeling I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Not a good weekend for workouts or eating. Saturday was spent getting food ready for a church dinner and we ended up staying there a lot longer than we had anticipated. Which is good, it means that we have a lot of people wanting to hang out for fellowship, however, I couldn't quick checking the time and feeling antsy to get out of there. We ended up getting home close to 8pm, so no workout.

Today was a mess. G was working today so I had a full day of wrestling with two of my boys on my own. I ended up waking up late so I didn't make breakfast for myself or pack food for the day except for some snacks for the kids. We were at a wrestling tournament from 8am to 4pm. All I had during those hours were three cups of coffee, a pack of roasted peanuts, a few handfuls of popcorn and some gatorade. Needless to say I was not feeling well, mentally and physically by the time we got home.

I did manage to make a decent dinner, turkey meatballs, red potatoes and steamed veggies.

Oh and no workout.

Ah well, what are ya gonna do. Tomorrow is a new day.

Thanks Fit, today wasn't too bad :)

Due to a time crunch this evening I didn't get to the gym, but I did ab work in my living room. At the moment I am battling female related demons. Bloat, fatigue, cramps.... all the good stuff. Any guys reading this...if I have to read about your farting, you can deal with this.

So anyway :) I thankfully have not given into my cravings of chocolate and greasy hamburgers, this is a big moment for me so please give me my props.

I'm not all that jazzed about taking 4 week progress pics but I still have till Friday so I'm certain I will have recovered by then.

For now I will just make sure I'm drinking a lot of water to keep bloat at bay and keep reminding myself that junk food is not my friend.

Nice log! I'm thinking about trying this stack as well.

Welcome aboard!

Although, I think my log has turned more into a banter journal lately ;)

I'm really loving this stack, it seems to get me really focused and increases my energy without feeling like I'm on speed.

So tonight me and my G hit the gym. Today I did an upper body workout and cardio. I was kicking a$$ and taking names! Well, not really taking names, I didn't have my notepad with me, but I've got the memory of an elephant so it's just the same.

Supps - 4 NO-Beta, 3/4 scoop CreaDyl (felt the tingles with this stack)

Dumbbell Shoulder Press 3x6x25lbs
Front Raises 3x6x20lbs
Lateral Raises 3x6x15
BB Shrugs 3x8x70lbs
Single Arm Rows on Low Cable 3x6x60lbs

Elliptical on Glute Kicker mode, Level 3, 30 minutes

I need to devote more time to lifting though. I feel like my workouts are too short. I know time really shouldn't be the issue here, the workouts themselves are what counts. But I think I just need to take more time and do more exercises. I'm thinking of switching to a push-pull split. It's what I used when I was gearing up for a figure comp and I was adding mass at a pretty good rate.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Pretty good workout tonight. I started my push-pull split, today I focused on pull muscles.

Supps: 4 NO-Beta, 3/4 scoop CreaDyl, Glutacene during workout

Felt just a slight tingle in my hands and thighs, that was it though. Energy was there, focus was good. My pace for working out was much slower, like I had wanted. I took more time to focus on reps and pushing myself with weight. It felt good. I'm really looking forward to my leg day tomorrow. I just need to dig out my wraps so I can start going heavier with my dead lifts.

Workout:
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown 4x8x150lbs
Single Arm DB Rows 4x8x35lbs
Rear DB Flys 3x8x12lbs
DB Bicep Curls 3x8x20lbs (should have dropped reps and gone heavier, will do that next time)
Assisted Chin Ups 4x8
Cable Upright Rows 4x8x60lbs

Wanted to get in some HIIT but it was getting late and I need to get home for the kiddos.

I'll be sure to get in more cardio over the weekend.

Food for the day was good.

Meal 1 - 5 egg whites, 1 slice of toast, 1 tsp butter
Meal 2 - protein shake
Meal 3 - 2 cups cabbage, 10 oz tuna, 4 tbsp vinegar
Meal 4 - protein shake
Meal 5 - roast pork, steamed vegetables
Meal 6 - debating on what to have.....

Well I'm hungry , so I'm off to eat, then shower, then bed. G'nite folks!

My split is going to look like this:

Mon - Pull, HIIT
Tues - Push, HIIT
Wed - Leg
Thur - Pull
Fri - Push, HIIT
Sat - Leg
Sun - Active Rest

Should I not be doing biceps? When I work pull muscles I hit my back, biceps and traps

Push days are chest, triceps and shoulders

Thoughts?

Today is Day 1 of my 5th week of the challenge. I weighed myself, as I have every Friday and I'm down two more pounds. Normally I would be excited about this but I'm actually kind of frustrated. I don't look like I've lost 8 pounds. I feel lean and strong and my friend told me I'm looking really fit, but I definitely don't look like I've lost 8 pounds. My clothes pretty much fit the same, it's so weird. I'll be taking pictures tomorrow so I guess maybe then I'll see where I could be losing. Plus I'll take measurements to compare.

Today's workout was pretty decent.

Supps: 4 NO-Beta, 3/4 scoop CreaDyl

Legs - Hamstrings

Single Leg Lying Leg Curl 4x8x40lbs
RDL's 4x6x125lbs
Good Mornings 4x8x45lbs
Hack Squat (well my version of a hack squat using a low cable and straight bar) 4x8x50lbs
21's on Lying Leg Curl 3 sets x 30lbs
Frog Squats 4x8

Finally got to give frog squats a whirl. I haven't been able to do them because there have been to many eyes in the gym. But today it was pretty empty and the few in there were women. Of course once I start doing them, people started walking by, mostly men. I swear they had to have 'a$$ in the air" radar or something. So embarrassing. I reconvened once they cleared out.

Conclusion: my hams are talking! My weights weren't that heavy but my tempo was slow and so I was feeling the burn.

I'm feeling SO sore today. My hamstrings have been yelling at me for the past 24 hours. I find comfort in the fact that I did my body good Friday with my leg workout.

The weekend has been long but uneventful. I spent yesterday, yet again, at a wrestling tournament. I enjoy watching my boys and others wrestle, but it really wears you out just sitting for hours upon hours. Oh well.

Despite the long day I still got in a pretty good workout. I was going to just rest but G wanted to lift so I figured I'd work my push muscles.

Supps: 4 NO-Beta, 1 full scoop Creadyl

Workout: Chest, Shoulder and Triceps

Once we got to the gym the beta-alanine was really kicking. My whole body was tingling and my ears and scalp felt like they were on fire. AFter about 10 minutes it stared to fade out, thank goodness!

DB Chest Press: 2x8x25lbs/2x3x30lbs/1x8x25lbs

(Tried to move the 30 pound dumbbells but I guess my pecs aren't quite ready for that weight. I really struggled with those, which is so odd to me. If I can do 8 of 25, why can I barely get out 3 of 30? Oh well, I'll try again next time.)

BB Decline Press: 4x8x45lbs
Pec Fly Machine: 3x8x30lbs

Front Raise/Lateral Raise/Shoulder Press circuit:
alternating front and lateral raises for 10 reps each, move immediately into shoulder presses

This was my husbands workout and I was convinced he was trying to kill me.

Front Raise/Lateral: 2x10x12lbs/1x10x10lbs
Shoulder Press: 2x10x10lbs/1x10x5lbs

Another circuit of my husbands:
Triceps Rope Pressdown/DB Kickbacks/EZ Bar Overhead Extension

Rope Pressdown: 3x10x40lbs
DB Kickbacks: 3x10x15lbs
Overhead Extension: 2x10x30lbs/1x10x20lbs

This workout had my shoulders and triceps burning, but no soreness today. It may sneak up on my tomorrow.

Because yesterday was so busy we didn't have time to get pictures so I took some this morning with my cell phone. I still haven't really looked at them yet but I'm hoping I can see where I may be losing weight because right now, I still don't see it. Although G said he has noticed a change in my shape. Go figure.

Oh I'm so glad others can see the difference! I'm not sure where my insecurities are coming from. I am feeling good and otherwise happy with my progress. I think I'm just not looking the way I'm feeling. That's okay though, I have six more weeks to get more work done.

As for the back pic, ha that was a hilarious process. I couldn't figure out how to get a good back picture. Which was kind of a bummer because my back muscles are started to get more definition so I was hoping to get some shots. G will be home tomorrow though so he will take pictures then.

Just got a text from my husband. He said that when he comes home tomorrow morning he'll bring home a paper and we'll take pictures. I asked him if he's doing the contest and he texts to me:

'Yeah I will do it. Before I win I want to say, don't hate the player - hate the game'

Ha! Now it's on.

I may need to restart my comp since I just changed my split. This way I can give my all for ten weeks toward this split. If there is one bond that my husband and I have, it's that we're very competitive with each other. In a fun way, but serious all the same. I can't let him beat me :)

I know, right?! You know what he said to me last night?? I said "I really want to win this competition" and he replies with "Oh, well, then I guess I had better not join the competition" Jerk. :)

So, today's workout was good, although I don't think I was going as hard as I could have for some reason. I've had a lot on my mind lately and I was having trouble shutting it all out so I could focus solely on my workout.

Supps: 4 NO-Beta, forgot my CreaDyl and Glutacene (told you I wasn't focused :( )

Push Day - Backs, Traps, Bi's

Wide Grip Pulldown 3x8x100
Reverse Grip Pulldown 3x8x110
V-Bar Pulldown 3x8x110
Single Arm Seated Row 3x8x50
DB Shrug 3x10x25's
Concentrated DB Curls 3x8x20
Preacher Curls 3x10x35

Tomorrow is leg day and I'm excited. I'll be doing cardio in the afternoon and then legs in the evening.

Ugh, so I overdid it on carbs today. I'm feeling tired and it's just what I've been reaching for today. Don't know what my problem is.

Did some cardio at lunch, 30 minutes on the elliptical. First 13 minutes was steady and then I did HIIT the rest of the time.

Tonight I'm going to the gym with my favorite boy and I'll be working on legs (quads specifically). I'm restarting the challenge with G but we have yet to take pictures. We had intentions two days ago but his schedule is crazy and keeping up with our boys' schedules makes it hard to be home at the same time. This weekend we are going to Indiana to visit a friend, then coming back Sunday to get ready for our Super Bowl party.

I think Monday morning I'll run out to grab a paper so we can take pictures that morning. I don't want to wait too much longer to get this done.

As a result of my overindulgence I've dusted off an old contest prep diet plan from three years ago. I think I'll put that bad boy into action and get some serious work done. Especially since now I have G getting serious about this. He's tracking his macros now, he means business. ;)

Wowza on the progress pics!!!!!

Thanks :) I took some new pics last night though and I'm not happy with them. I'm going to blame the carb overload from the day.

What are your thoughts on ketocut?

I don't have anything to report as of yet. Yesterday evening was my first dose, we'll see how today goes. I will be sure to post my thoughts.

Jovinni, you're starting over?

Looks like it :) My husband decided he is going to do the challenge and so we're going to do it together. It'll keep him on track to follow through to the end and it'll be a good push for me. I was unsure about it at first but then figured it'd be worth it.

Today's workout felt pretty solid

Supps: 5 NO-Beta, 3/4 scoop CredDyl

I forgot the Glutacene at home. I think I need to just split up the powder so I can keep some here at work and then I'll have it at home. That way I'm never without it.

I'll take 2 Ketocuts when I get home from work

Today was going to be a push day but since I won't be able to get to the gym tomorrow, I did an overall upper body workout. No gym Saturday or Sunday either but that's okay.

RG Latpulldown 4x8x120lbs
V-Bar Pulldown 4x6x120lbs
DB Rows 3x8x30lbs
Rear Delt DB Flys 3x10x12lbs
Single Arm Cable Chest Press 3x10x40lbs
Pec Deck 3x10x40lbs
DB Curls 3x8x20lbs
Overhead Tricep Extension w/ EZ bar 3x10x30lbs
21's w/ EZ bar 3 sets 30lbs
Rope Tricep Pressdown 3x6x40lbs

I've decided I'm no longer going to go heavy on my chest. I've been feeling a weird kind of pull in my left....pec if you will, and it's bothering me. I don't really need to build up those muscles, I just need to keep them strong and I can do that with medium-light volume training.

I've been forgetting to log my food lately:

M1: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup blueberries
M2: whey, 2 cups baby carrots
M3: 1.5 cup cottage cheese, 1 tbsp peanut butter
M4: 2 cans tuna, 1.5 cup shredded cabbage, vinegar-splenda dressing
M5: not sure yet
M6: smoothie

Getting ready to get out of work and will soon be on the road to Indiana.

No workout today due to leaving early and I won't see the gym again until Monday.

Food has been good today, I'll have to enforce some extra willpower for the weekend. Tonight is a hockey game and tomorrow we're just hanging out with a friend. Then of course Sunday we're having the usual Super Bowl Sunday fare...I will just make sure I'm watching portions and not giving into stuff that's no good for my body.

Oh yeah, February 3rd marks Day 1 of the 'new' challenge. Should be fun :)

Frog Squats 2x20
Single Leg Lying Leg Curl 3x8x40lbs
Lying Leg Curl 21's 2 sets 30lbs
Walking Lunges 40xBW

Cable Ab Crunch 3x10x70lbs
Ab Machine 2x20x50lbs

Other supps for the day:
1 scoop CreaDyl
2 Ketocut

I'm going to be following the Anabolic Diet and see what my body does with it

M1: 4 whole eggs, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
M2: 1 cup cottage cheese, 2 tbsp peanut butter
M3: almonds
M4: 2 pork chops
M5: protein shake
M6: 2 pork chops

Thanks this will be my first triathlon, I dont expect coming in first! but just going in for the challenge.

Besides the Creadyl/NOBeta I am using VP2 (protein from AST) i just switched to it cuz its lactose free and hydrolyzed, few weeks ago got off testosterone pills it made me oversleep. Keeping up with amino acids and vitamins on the regular.

Didn't have an update from yesterday. I was going to do cardio but when my friend and I got to the locker room she realized she had forgotten her running pants. She is training for a half marathon and needed to get in a long run. So I gave her my pants so she could train. I just sat on a recumbent bike and pedaled slow so as to not sweat. Very boring and uneventful. It's all good though, it was for a good cause.

I just dropped off my two oldest boys for their trip to Kentucky. Now it's just me and my little one (little being 9 years old).

We've got big plans today :)

A book sale at the library
Gym time so I can make up my workout from yesterday
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
A night at the Astronomy Club to study the stars

Happy weekend everyone!

How's the Keto diet coming along??

Sounds like a great day!!

How's the Keto diet coming along??

The Keto dieting is going okay, it's taking some adjusting, that's for sure. I find that I'm WAY hungry in the evening and I don't think it's too much because of the restricted calories. I'm just a carb junkie and I'm going through withdrawal. I just really love bread and not having it at all is a killer. I'm going to have to incorporate it into my diet for sanity purposes. Maybe just one slice of sour dough bread to dip in olive oil, that might do the trick :)

So I haven't been doing a good job with updating my journal. The weekend with just me and my youngest was really great. I never did make it to the gym. We went but they were having some big tournament going on and there was not a single parking space left. There is nowhere close to park either so we just left. We spent the rest of the day doing whatever he wanted and it was really nice :)

Sunday morning I was seriously fatigued. I could not wake up and was painfully tired. I'm not sure why that was. I managed to get in a half hour nap before taking my son sledding/snowboarding. I just stood at the top of the hill, snuggled in my snow pants and coat while he went up and down the hill.

Monday - I did an upper body workout, abs in the evening

Today - lower body workout, meant to do abs this evening but again, I'm really tired.

I need to pick up a multi-vitamin tomorrow. That may be part of my problem. I haven't been taking vitamins in quite a while. I know, bad girl.

So that's about it. For any of my 'loyal' readers ;) consider yourself fully informed.

Exciting, isn't it?

Something new though, I will be taking a Bollywood Dance class tomorrow at lunch. I really am looking forward to that :)

Hi, welcome!

Yes, I've definitely got competing in sight. There is a competition in October. Once I complete this 10 week challenge, I'm going to start training for it. If only once, I have to step on that stage and really see what I can do. Until then my pretty suits just sit in my drawer, mocking me..... :)

Just got back from getting beat up by a petite Indian woman.

My company features different cardio workouts throughout the year, the latest being a Bollywood class. I've always wanted to try it and today was the day. MAN! I was sweating and out of breath. SO much fun though. They're not holding the classes regularly though, otherwise I would have signed up.

I had intended to do some ab work after the class but I was beat so I'll just catch up on abs tonight when G and I go to the gym. Good stuff :)

Yeah, I wish I could blame it on a lack of sleep or something like that. I'm going to pick up a new bottle of multivitamins today. I think that could be the culprit.

Went to the gym last night, it was JAM packed so it was hard getting space and equipment to do what I wanted but I managed.

Bent Over DB Rows - 4x8x25
Standing DB Shoulder Presses - 3x8x20
DB External Shoulder Rotations - 3x8x20
Upright DB Rows - 4x8x20
RG Cable Pulldowns - 4x8x150
Facepulls - 3x8x90
Single Arm Lat Pulldowns - 3x9x50
Wide Grip Assisted Chin Ups - 4x8x(-110)

I have decided that I need to keep a journal with me when I workout. I really should be progressing with weights and I also find that I talk myself out of doing a 4th set of exercises.

The plan is to lessen the number of exercises so I don't feel pressed for time, increase number of warm up sets, set a minimum of 4 sets of each exercise and set a goal each week to up my previous weights.

I know this is what I should have been doing and this is what I tell people, but what I end up doing in the gym tends to go in a different direction than intended. I have 8 weeks left in this challenge, I think this will be key in making significant changes.

Overall though, I have been working out consistently for....seven weeks and I'm feeling great! Strong, tight(er) and getting lean. This morning my abs were poking through so that's exciting!

Thanks! I'll be posting update pics in two weeks, I hope to see some big changes then.
I really have to say the DTS stack I've been using has been amazing so my favorite's would be the NO-Beta, CreaDyl and Glutacene. The boost I get from the NO-Beta and CreaDyl is intense and I love being able to rely on the Glutacene to assist with longer workouts and cardio sessions. These are definitely my staples.

Well crap....seems I've injured my left foot.

As of yesterday I officially aged into an 80 year old blue hair because yes....I have a bunion. Could there be a word worse than that? Bunion? Who came up with that??

But that's what I've got going on. The joint at the base of my toe is swollen and aching and because I'm the kind of person that likes to go BIG or go home, I decided smacking it into a wall would be a good idea. You know, just in case it wasn't damaged enough.

And so I have succeeded in making it worse. Because now the top part of my foot is swollen and I'm enduring a lovely shooting pain whenever I move my foot.

I'm going to sleep soon so I just rubbed some topical aspirin onto it in hopes to absorb it into the tissue. We'll see how it looks in the morning. ARGH!!!! So frustrating...

I didn't get to workout yesterday. I walked over to the gym on my lunch break only to realize that I had forgotten to pack a shirt to wear in the gym. So I walked back over to my desk and pouted.

Spent the evening hanging out at church to help with a lock-in for 3rd-5th graders. Lots. O. Fun. Let me tell ya.

Since I didn't get to workout yesterday I'm going to pull double duty today. I'm out of Glutacene but I have Beverly International's Glutamene Select tucked away in my cabinet so I'll be using that until I can get my hands on Glutacene again.

I don't know how I'm going to stomach the Bev's stuff though, it doesn't taste nearly as good as Double-T's.

I'm looking forward to tonight, we are meeting up with some friends for sushi for dinner than to watch the PBR cowboys "mount up!"! Way excited!!!!

Thanks!

OUCH! :( Sorry about that! Feel better soon, sweets!

Thanks Fit, it's not getting much better. My husband says to me last night, "You're going to have to have surgery". Not something I wanted to hear. I'll just prove him wrong ;)

Wow these stuff really sounds amazing.I am sure this will work good.

I now have an injured shoulder. I'm assuming it's my rotator cuff. From the pain I'm experiencing it seems most likely the area of injury. It's all good, I figured this 10 week contest was getting boring and a good challenge is great way to break up the monotony.

So, the plan is to limit upper body exercises to allow my shoulder to heal and increase cardio on a stationary bike (to appeal to both my shoulder and still hurt foot). I figure I've got a good base of muscle right now, if I just take it easy for a bit I'll be healed and ready to go in no time.

Going back to Saturday morning though, I got in a really good workout. I did shoulders, bi's and tri's. Yes, shoulders. This was before realizing how bad this was going to be for my shoulder. My shoulder has been aching since last Sunday but I don't remember injuring it during an exercise and it would only be sore at night, waking me from my sleep. So Saturday when we went to workout, I did a shoulder workout. Stupid stupid stupid!

Supps from Saturday was one full scoop of CreaDyl, we're out of NO-Beta, but hope to get our new shipment of supps tomorrow.

Saturday evening we went to the PBR Battle of the Bulls! So much fun!

I woke up that night in serious pain from my shoulder and did not sleep well at all. Kept my poor husband up too with all my moving around and tossing and turning.

Spent the first half of the day at church, then by the time we got home from running errands we were both beat we skipped the gym (I was just going to do cardio).

Make sure to either be icing that shoulder or keep heat on it, to early for me to remember which is for which lulz. Maybe even grab an x ray, you have come to far in this contest for a injury to ruin your progress

Thanks J, I've been putting heat on it and using Icy Hot to keep the muscles loose.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder!! I have a bum shoulder too, so I can understand your pain and frustration!! Mine was x-rayed and turned out to be a huge calcium deposit, which is really painful. Back from the gym, just did cardio on a stationary bike.

30 minutes HIIT
Stationary bike
Level 7
15 second sprint/45 second recovery intervals

I won't be going to the gym tonight. My boys are mountain biking right now at an indoor track so I'll be leaving work in a little while and meeting up with them to watch. Should be fun :)

So I'm in real, serious pain. My whole right arm just aches and aches. Last night I got a few hours of sleep but spent most of the night trying to will the pain away in my shoulder and bicep. G emailed me this morning saying he was making an appointment for me. I guess he knew I was still going to try to 'wait it out'. I now have pain in my elbow and I feel like I'm losing strength in my hand. Not good.

Today at lunch is cardio again. I was going to do cardio again this evening but I'm hoping I have an appointment with my doctor instead. We'll see.

Thanks castille, you'd think I'd know better with that kind of thing but I tend to be so stubborn about stuff, it makes me blind. Thank goodness my husband took the initiative to make my doctor appointment for me. He knows I would have kept putting it off.

I'm praying for you.

Thank you, that means a lot

So my appointment is set for tomorrow at 5:30pm.

Here is how ridiculous I can be. I just got done with my cardio and I'm in the shower with the water super hot. My arm is feeling good, no pain and I start thinking "Oh it must be better! I knew this would be no big deal". I then proceed to get dressed and I'm wincing in pain the entire time. I'm so thick headed sometimes.

Anyway, cardio was good. I have decided that I am now a Curling fan. I took my earbuds out after a few minutes because I was getting a headache and became enthralled by the women's curling event.

Cardio:
30 minutes on the stationary bike
Level 7
First 15 minutes, intervals 30 second sprint/30 second recovery
Last 15 minutes, intervals one minute sprint/1 minute recovery

Tonight more cardio and some ab work, if I can manage it.

I like to be thorough :)

Thanks for the exercises, I will definitely be incorporating those types of exercises into my routine for a while.

The doctor said that he doesn't think I tore anything but I definitely aggravated my rotator cuff. He told me to keep working out though to increase blood flow and to use a topical arthritic gel to help reduce inflammation. Last night was one of my worst nights of sleep from the pain.

I'm going to do cardio during my lunch hour and then do some upper body work tonight. Need to get going with that since I've taken so many days off because of the shoulder.

This morning I did some assessing and my physique is liking the increase in cardio. Despite not lifting, my delts are popping and my back is shaping up. Definition in my quads are peaking through so I'm happy about that. All good stuff despite my current handicap.

Weight is a steady 134. I'm going to reduce calories to 1200 to push the fat loss.

Now that I know I can resume lifting, it's time to get busy!

I tend to cycle carbs but I'm going to extend my low carb days to longer than I have been. I started following the cut diet but became more interested in following the Anabolic Diet. I'm just going to rework the calories so that they're lower during the week then they have been and see how that goes.

I ended up not working out at lunch time. I went shopping instead :) which, by the way, I rarely do. But G told me we were going out tomorrow night and with the Arnold coming up next weekend (YAY!) I was suddenly in desperate need for new jeans. I HATE shopping and I hate spending money on clothes so I really was in need of some new, nicer jeans.

Anyway, with that being the case I spent an hour this evening doing cardio.

30 minutes - elliptical
Glute Kicker level

30 minutes - stationary bike
HIIT - 30 second sprint, 1 minute recovery

Hahaha, Simpy, I ended up with DKNY jeans. They have cute button pocket detailing on the back pockets and they were on sale so I was golden. I just need to hem them as they were made for something about 6 inches taller than me. One of the downfalls of being short but not petite and trying to shop for clothes.

45 minutes HIIT total today
25 minutes on recumbent elliptical (not sure what it's called)
1 minute sprint/1 minute recovery

20 minutes on stationary bike
15 second sprint/45 second recovery

Weighted decline abs

Rehab exercises for right arm

My arm is KILLING me. I'm debating on whether or not I should get a second opinion. It REALLY hurts. My nights are still interrupted with pain and today the pain is sharper than usual.

The doctor I saw was not my regular doctor. I wonder if I saw my regular doctor initially would he have had an x-ray done just to make sure nothing more serious happened.

Or I'm just a big baby and have a lower level of pain tolerance than I thought.

I don't know. I think I'm going to make an appointment for the end of next week or early the following week and if it's better by then, I can cancel.

Just an example of what I'm dealing with, I was doing external rotations laying down and I had to use a 3 pound weight and that was painful. I struggled to hold the medicine ball when doing the decline abs and when I tried to do obliques I couldn't hold the weight.

So I don't know.

Anyway, my laid back today turned out to not be, which is typical but that's all right.

I'm taking the boys to a motocross event that my husband will be working all day today. I'm sure they'll love that.

Second... this is only my opinion, but judging by the fact that your workouts are pretty beast and you live with 4 guys who seem to be involved in all sports... even the dangerous ones... and you are always right there with them... I'm going to guess that you have a pretty high tolerance for pain!... that being said, I would get a second opinion!! Yes, exactly, it is a great job but the schedule can be hard. He loves it so that makes it worth it :) The "fire community" is certainly entertaining :)

Feeling very tired today. I was all set to go to bed at 9:30last night but didn't crawl into bed until 10:30. I don't know why I do that sometimes. It's not like I spent that hour being productive. I need to work on that. Still not sleeping through the night because of my shoulder. I have an appointment set for this evening with my regular doctor. He probably won't tell me anything different than the other one but I'll at least feel better about it. Or well I assume I will.

My willpower is being tested today at work. Our department is having a "Chili Cook-Off" and the aroma floating in the air is torture!!

Today's workout:

Leg Extension 4x10x70
Step Up, Reverse Lunge 3x10 each leg
Frog Squat 4x10
Ball Curl 4x10
Hip Raise on Ball 3x10
Single Leg DB Deadlift 4x10x30lbs

*edited to add the SL Deads, forgot I had done those too*

Here is what I'm thinking:

Sunday - LISS cardio
Monday - Legs - primarily bodyweight and circuit style
Tuesday - Rehab exercises, abs and HIIT
Wednesday - LISS
Thursday - Legs again
Friday - Rehab exercises, abs and HIIT
Saturday - abs and LISS cardio

Diet is going to have to be spot on if I'm going to make any kind of headway with this challenge.

Showed up to the doc appointment last night but ended up rescheduled. There were six people ahead of me and he was still seeing his 3:30p patients. I said no thanks, I'm not waiting and rescheduled for Thursday morning.

Thought last night that my arm might have been getting better but nope. Last night was bad and it hurts more so this morning than usual. ARGH!!!! So frustrating!!!!!!

Be careful, and wait until you see the doc. until you make a decision.

OUCH Jovinni, you have had a run of bad luck here. I am trying to catch up on all the logs I was following since I have been offline for a while with work and as I read it sounded like everything had worked its way out, guess I should have started reading from the most recent.

We will hold you up in prayer and just be safe, don't want to hurt anything that may cause you problems moving forward. You have already made great progress and look fantastic, so don't sweat it.

How is your husbands challenge going? Does he have a log running too?

Be safe and know you are in many prayers daily,

I will for sure, just trying to plan ahead. I'm going to still do what I can while minding the shoulder though.

Thanks! Everyone on here is so encouraging and through faith and support at home I haven't let this injury sway me from my goals.

My husband has been doing well. He has not started a log, not yet anyway. He's been going at it hard in the gym, sometimes twice a day and he's been really paying attention to what he eats. We'll be taking pictures soon, since we've hit our 4 week mark. I'm anxious to see what his pictures show.

Thank you again for your prayers, I really do feel surrounded by positive energy and it's keeping me focused :)

I wish you luck on Thursday....(too bad you had to reschedule.)

I think it's great you and your husband are doing this together.
I can't wait for the progress pictures too.
Are there certain guide lines to follow with the 10 week challenge...or is it just the use of the products and log your results?

I love chili cook-offs, they're fun!...but probably not fun when you can't eat it...ugh! lol

Do you have a trainer or someone who works with your diet, that you can ask for assistance in what to do for workouts/diet while you heal?

Thanks, I hope he's able to help me with this. I'm not interested in "give it time" but I suppose I'll just have to trust him.

The only real guidelines with the contest are that you use the supplements (which are amazing so that's no problem at all), maintain progress photos and post your results. The group that is participating in the challenge are so great, it's become like a little weird, dysfunctional family. Which of course is the best kind :)

Unfortunately I don't have a trainer right now. I did pull out Emma's old program from my first contest prep. Trying to find the right balance with diet has proven to be challenging considering my current injury status. Things were going really well and then this happens and I feel like I'm back at square one. Manipulating carbs is going to be the key factor here.

And to update you, I did NOT do anything fun with my hair ;)

I kept the length but she did clean it up (long overdue) and now it has a kind of Bridget Bardot oomph that I'm digging :) This morning will be my first attempt in trying to recreate it. Well see how I do with my bum wing and trying to maneuver a blowdryer hahaha

Yesterday's workout:

I didn't get to they gym last night because I took the boys roller skating instead. It took me a little bit of time to remember HOW to roller skate but it started coming back to me and before long it was as if I had never stopped. Lots of fun and what a workout! One hour of skating nonstop really works your legs. My glutes and thighs were burning due to my leg workout the day before. Good stuff :)

I have rehab exercises planned for this afternoon and then this evening i will be roller skating again. Only this time with roller derby girls. I've decided to give roller derby a try. I know, not smart with my arm, but tonight is just preliminary and to see what it's all about so I will be careful. Promise :)

Felt more comfortable in the gym today. Started out with some rehab exercises:

External Rotation - 3x10x5lbs
Front Raise - 3x8x5lbs
Lateral Raise - 3x8xBW (could only do these without weight)
Bent Over DB Row - 3x10x5lbs
Wall Push Ups - 3x10
DB Shoulder Presses - 3x10x5lbs

After that I experimented with other exercises and was actually able to get in a slightly decent workout. I didn't move much weight but it's something so I'm fine with that.

Bicep Curls 3x8x12lbs, 2x8x15lbs
Triceps Rope Pressdowns 3x10x20lbs
Triceps Pressdown (FRM) 3x8x30lbs
Low Cable Shoulder Squeeze (could be called something else) 3x10x30lbs
Low Cable Bent Over Row, WG 3x10x40lbs

Decline Sit Ups 3x20
V-Ups on Bench 2x20

Oh and I feel like a bloated fat mess right now. Blech.

Big log, a great one at that. Sorry to hear about the injury and I agree with the rest about waiting to see the doc, hopefully it doesn't get worse and heals ASAP. Keep it, and oh yeah, subbed.

How's your "Arnold prep" going? lol I've just been cutting carbs and it's amazing how quickly you can shrink-wrap your body that way!
Do you head up there today ro tomorrow? I know you mentioned that before but I couldn't find it.

Hahaha, the Arnold prep is going well :) It's really something how that happens, isn't it??

I am heading up tomorrow evening after work, and then we'll be there all day Saturday. I'm really looking forward to 'getting away' with the hubby.

Roller Derby practice last night was AWESOME! I am going back on Sunday to practice again. The girls are pretty cool and I did much better on skates than I anticipated :) I definitely count the two hour practice on wheels as intense cardio. What a workout! It was such a great feeling.

Went to the doc this morning and I'm so glad I did. I just really trust my doctor and he's so thorough and he makes me feel like he's really listening.

His diagnosis: it has nothing to do with my rotator cuff. He thinks it's bursitis and that totally makes sense. He gave me a shot of 'juice' to help bring down inflammation.

Verdict on working out: no upper body workouts.

I'm trying not to get down about that. He said I'm fine with cardio and lower body though so I guess I'll just keep that up as much as possible. With Roller Derby practices and the use of machines for legs and my own bodyweight, I think I can still shape my body pretty decently.

I do have to say that I loved it when he was feeling my delts he stops and says "Wow! You're building some muscle there!" Damn straight! LOL

Oh and no more heat, ice only.

So that's it, rest and ice and prayers for a quick recovery.

Glad to hear that it is not rotator-cuff issues! Get well soon, and you know I'm prayin' for you.

Where are the vids of roller-derby???? Haha.

Ha, yeah I don't think the girls would have thought too kindly of a newbie showing up wanting to take some video. But I'm sure, once I get more established with the group and make it onto the team, I will certainly deliver vids :)
