If infinity ward was a tad bit smarter , then would not have demolished the PC genre. But im pretty sure there is a reason for this, i dont know what. Like even in CoD4 , they couldnt set up custoum maps , or talking on the microphone. That would have generated their revenue by atleast another 10-20% on the PC market.

Battlefield is so nice even when i was young and will be, problem is there is so many of them i get confused,
1) are they all made by the same company?
2) is bad company 2 out on xbox/ps3 already?
3) does badcompany 2 allow you to talk on mic/create your own maps?

they were flying too fast, it was definitely an aistrike call in and not people flying them. i dont think the maps are too big :(

In BF2 I would always try to keep in formation with another jet(Even if they didn't know)

They showed some gameplay with the blackhawk and gunner(s) mowing down people.

About the limited addition giving players better stuff... I read on their website (I think it was) that all of the stuff was unlockable for regular players as they advanced through their ranks, so it's not really to bad of an issue.

I agree though, if they gave people who preordered or bought with real life money a distance advantage, that would be ****ty.

I bet they did. Very smart marketing move based on the fact over 180,000 people signed for dedicated servers. Could you imagine the market share gain if even 1/10th of those people decided to get BC2 instead that wouldn't have otherwise?

looks like aircraft won't be too way over powered like in BF2. it will take more than just 1 bomb to take out a tank like in bf2. and they give you more AA stuff as opposed to the 2 ground missiles that just dented planes in bf2

The new map they added to BF2 from AF "Operation Road Rage", I've been tearing up the air with the mobile AA.

Getting in the F-15 with only one spawn point for the enemy(Operation Clean sweep) and just spraying into their base..... 15+ kills

I'm actually getting decent with sniping. However nothing beats using the C4 in that class for me. I head to a crate, plant C4 while a team-mate arms it. Throw a motion sensor and then rush for cover. As soon as I see red on the crate, bang!

for PC beta, yeah. If you have the game through Steam, there have been some patching issues. Dunno for sure.

Best bug in the beta is the x4 scope on an AR or medic LMG. good night sweet snipers.

I haven't had time to play but I got a good amount of time in on Monday. This map > PS3 beta map. I've been sticking to assault but I've been getting smashed by snipers and the occasional shotgun wielding lunatic.

Gonna check it out again today to see if my FPS goes up with that patch.

price: every 2 to 4 years you need to upgrade your pc to handle the newest games, the wii/xbox360/ps3 are able to handle all games without upgrading, until there is a new console, which doesn't happen for at least every 6 or 7 years.

the pc is filled with mountains of 'free' shovel ware, even the wii doesnt even budge this amouth

Nvidia 3D Vision

We've been working together with engineers from Nvidia for adding proper support for 3D Vision stereo rendering in Bad Company 2 PC. This support is not enabled in the beta but it will be included in a patch shortly after the release of the retail game.

3D Vision works by rendering a picture for each eye every frame together with a slight offset. Then the 3D glasses together with the compatible displays and drivers correctly select which frame each eye sees to create actual depth perception in the game.

We are also looking forward to trying out the upcoming multi-monitor stereo rendering: 3D Vision Surround.

Expect to see & hear more about both 3D Vision and 3D Vision Surround in Bad Company 2 after the beta!

HBAO

HBAO stands for Horizon-based Ambient Occlusion and is a rendering technique developed by Nvidia originally and that we have integrated into Frostbite for use on all DX10 and DX11 graphics cards.

It is a technique that creates soft & realistic contact shadows between objects and can really enhance the visuals but in a quite subtle way. It can be a demanding effect for the graphics card and as such is primarily meant for more higher-end cards. It only is a cost on the GPU, not the CPU.

Since the PC Beta we've done a bunch of optimizations on the effect together with both Nvidia and AMD, so if you had performance problems with it before: please give it a shot again in the retail game if you have a modern & fast GPU!

Misc

The 'High' texture detail level is not included in the PC beta, but is in the retail game which increase texture resolution a bit.

Support for multiple GPUs (AMD Crossfire / Nvidia SLI) in the first PC Beta build was only partially working and could cause visual artifacts. This is improved on in the latest Beta client and since that version we have done additional performance scaling improvements that should be a good benefit.

BUT, 90% of the matches I'm in if I play recon instead of a good aggressive kit we lose. If I do not attack the mcoms, it doesn't happen. If I do not disarm the mcoms it doesn't happen. **** it pisses me off. Last match I was in we were defending, ONE mcom station left and it's been armed, I get killed trying to disarm it and what happens next? The camera switches to which squad member I want to spawn on, and all 3 of them are on a hill taking pot shots at the enemy base. We are 20 ****ing seconds from losing the entire match and they haven't even turned in the direction of the last mcom.

Recon is a support role. A great medic wins matches. A great Assault wins matches. A great
engineer wins matches.

A great Recon does not, he only supports the team and advances what they are. A great sniper makes a great team better, a great sniper makes a bad team fail quicker.

If you use the shotgun with assault it puts C4 as secondary since it's usually the grenade launcher.

Port Valdez map:

Joined as defender in the first set of mcoms with just B left, sniped about 6 of their recon before B was overrun. Hid in the 3 story house and killed some more as they spawned, they over ran the next two MCOMs in less than minute, so they are now spawning at the base looking down on the Apache helipad and I'm still back at the very first base. Run up, kill a couple more in their base and steal their T90.

Drive down into my base (B is already gone) and parked it slaughtering everything that made an assault. game over.

Once again, I win the game for my team.

RT to rise. dont press anything but that til youre at full height. both analogs forwards and right analog left or right to turn. to turn faster, turn the left analog to the direction to but to avoid crashing, turn the right analog slighly higher. you lose height as you fly so remember to hit RT again. RB/LB for weapons except in the Blackhawk which the pilot has no weapons.

Yeah, I was mostly plane/tank in 1943. When I started I was staying away from the vehicles to do something different, but once I realized that most players on the Demo thought a good strategy for the tank was drive as far as you can as fast as you can before getting blown up I switched over.

Yep. There are tons of people with big k/d ratio's parked up on noob hill while your tickets are getting plinked away. Or are running around sniping people by hiding in the buildings while your m-com's come tumbling down and they don't even flinch or make any moves to defend.

There are people with low k/d's who help a ton, and there are some players who do have good k/d's and help. Like I said, k/d is useless.

lol this is how I was playing when I first got got the demo. I didnt know what to do so I'd just go lone wolf and get my kills up with recon. Then I figured out to defend/attack bases and what each kit could do and the game became 10 times more fun than MW2. Wish I wouldve gotten a beta key for my pc so I could make up my mind on getting it for comp or ps3.

I had what has been the most hilarious moment for me so far yesterday with campers on my team.

Attacking on the first objectives. I roll in the tank right at the start of the game and go take out Mcom A with it. I come down the other side where I'm overlooking the construction building (maybe 25 meters back from B, next to the woods below noob hill). NOONE on my team is rushing anything, there are 5-6 snipers sitting in those woods.

I'm gradually moving up trying to keep the flanks secure and there are THREE snipers hiding behind the tank not shooting at anything, just using it as cover. Well apparently I missed someone on the flank, because an assault guy from the other team sneaks out of the woods, knifes all three of the guys hiding behind my tank before they even know what happens. I almost cried I was laughing so hard, and then I ran him over with the tank making it even better because I heard their screams as they were dying.

Because i have over a 4.00KD with the medic and i heal every team mate i see.
90% of the time People with low KD's suck generally and do no good to the team whatsoever.

LB = L1. LT = L2. RB = R1. RT = R2. Analogs are the same, two sticks either side with the thumb grip.

then just convert the ps3 buttons to their pc counterpart.

Can someone explain the squad system a bit more to me please?

I've been playing the demo, and I always opt to join a squad but I don't have a headset communication (ACtually thinking of getting one).

I'm actually not half bad at this game either, usually after each round I'll finish top 1-3. I'll always switch up from medic, recon, engineer and assault. I always drop ammo, always revive people, always go after the tanks when defending and rig that **** with C4 etc.

Does get really annoying when a charge is set on the mcom and noobs are just sitting around not even trying to defend it!

But yeh, if someone could explain the squad system a bit more I'd be grateful!!

You can also set squad orders like defend/attack by looking at an objective and hitting the social key (Q on PC)

Like reflexx said basically anything you do as a squad will get you more points. Heals, repairs, ammo, kill assists, spot assists, ect.

And since you can spawn on a squad member anywhere on the map, a good squad(especially with a good medic or two) can dominate a match.

Feedback on Beta

* There will be no PC Demo, but the game will be monitored extensively at release in order to make sure Beta issues are resolved
* Weapon damage problems will be resolved in the final release
* Troggle strafe and crouch is being looked into as a serious possibility
* The developers have been looking on YouTube, Twitter, and the forums to check out how the players develop these new methods of exploits

DLC and Post Release Patches

* The team for BC2 will not leave for other games, they will continue to support BC2 and there is a huge post-release plan that will be set into play next Wendesday
* Bad Company 2 will have extensive internal testing before any patches are out, allowing for a more streamlined patch release as well as compatibility
* The balance of the game will be the primary focal point for the developers, any things that could bring this balance out of sync will warrant action from the developers team.

What competitive gamers and clans should expect

* The game has been balanced for players that are new to the BF series, many ways to go about this was the reduction of the amount of kit choices in order to prevent them from being overwhelmed
* Many different new game modes have been added to allow people with varying playing styles to find their favorite game type
* Older gametypes might be added depending on what the community feels is necessary
* Killcam has been added, but it can be disabled in the PC server settings, not in console ones though
* Battle Recorder and Mods have not been officially announced, but depending on the feedback given by the community and the needs of the many, these could quickly come into play.
* The DICE development team is not beyond working with exception modders and third party developers in order to create a game that defies all expectations
* The DICE developers felt it would not be in the interest of the community to be producing peer2peer systems which would not provide for stable gameplay as well as decent online performance.
* Global Stats are being worked on internally by DICE, and depending on what is setup it will be run by DICE themselves on their website

PC Development and Community involvement

* PC and Console games are generally developed side by side now a days due to the commonality of the engine which allows three games to made simultaneously with special care taken by the PC developers to incorporate the PC specific features ranging from graphics, sound, input and many other things
* A lot of DICE developers are active on YouTube, Twitter, and the EA forums, Anders wanted to emphasis that when posting on the forums, it is much more likely to be heard on the forums if you try to provide constructive criticism with reasoning and support why.
* Their developers want to engage in fruitful dialogue with the players, if you have a legitimate problem with the game in terms of compatibility, exploits and such, let them know!
* Girl characters are a possibility the DICE team has wanted to made a possibility for quite a while, unfortunately it keeps getting moved on to the ?next game.? Hopefully it gets released soon.
* Unofficial Server Files are still in discussion, and depending on the demand of the game and the ability to feel comfortable with such a program to give the community what they need, they will release it accordingly.

Oh ****in sick. I bought the game (legit), but I'd love to play the single player over the next 2 days while I wait for it to be released :D

I used to pirate a lot of games, but I have come to realization I am ****ing myself over in the long run and now purchase my games. I have no issues torrenting a game I am not buying though. IE: I preordered SupCom2...Played the demo and thought WTF IS THIS??? Instantly cancled my preorder and will torrent now. No way they are gettin my money for a piss poor game. I was so disappointed :(
