there is a good chance that you won't even be able to get into a squad playing on ps3. most people I think like playing alone, if I get into a good squad I will add the people as friends so I can play with them later but still often I get into a game where within 5 minutes all bases are controlled by one side or the other, and the base raping commences (conquest matches)

what usually happens is the team getting raped, the players log out until there are only 5 or less of them playing, but there are still 15 or more playing on the rapers side. ps3 doesn't auto switch teams or have any balancing act, doesn't even allow you to switch teams, so on the next map, you are playing against the same numbers and the base raping just continues itself until more players log on.

also, why the hell cant you 'mute' a bluetooth player or manage a squad by inviting people ingame with you or doing a kick vote? seems like a pretty basic system you need in a game focused on teamplay.

I was noticing quite often k/d of 32/4 or even higher, one guy had over 72 kills. There are tons of aimbots/wall hacks/various other cheats for PC FPS games. There have been for the past 10 years.

Here is my experience with BC2 on PC. With my 420 hours of play time (according to one of the stat sites) I have seen 5 hackers on punkbuster streaming servers that are not insta kicked.

I am not counting the people who join and you see the message "Hardnutcheck was banned for Multihack/Aimbot/Sucks too bad to play". Those do not matter at all. Sure, I have seen games where someone goes 45/1. I have had games where I have gone 50/5 and been called a hacker or cheater.

It is very very easy to check to see if someone is hacking. Go pull up a stat site and look them up. 9k kills with the XM8 PROTOTYPE and 8k headshots? Hacker. Find another server with an admin who will manually ban the person. After a while, you find the good servers and never see hackers.

Dunno about that. There were periods where hacks were really common and the PB bans fell like rain from the sky. I haven't noticed anything like that anymore, nor have I ran into anyone I thought was cheating in a long time. And yes, people on PC tend to be better, not that a huge K/D is really indicative of skill. I can pull a really high K/D if I'm trying for it, but I'm usually not, and I die at a really high rate, especially on defense, because I'm more about winning than K/D.

Nam is so dirty I love it. Besides Vantage point, which sucks dick. Hill 137 is so good, I love the choke points where there's huge squad battles. Sometimes I'll be waiting for them to crest the hill and a couple teammates decide to rush and crest the hill first as one takes a bullet to the head and the other comes flying back from a grenade, while one more comes back screaming on fire.

God I love this game. Perfect blend of realism and arcade.

On the squad death match, some squads will have the colored triangles over their head then the others don't which is hard for me to spot. By the time I find out the direction of fire I'm dead. Been fun so far, just gotta get use to this style of play.

starting out on squad death match is your first mistake. start out on conquest. they have that over their head cuz someone hit Q while their crosshair was over them, you can do that too.

SDM is camping city and the whole basis of it is getting the jump on people. conquest and rush are a lot more fast paced but rush tends to be more strategic and have a lot better players in it, so stick to conquest for a while.

squad team deathmatch is ridiculously good with the new maps, im loving how close all of the buildings are, theres a real sense of teamwork in this, i love how every team controls 1 building each and were spraying each other from windows... i also love how you actually have to flank and run across the roads quickly and breach the buildings and check all corners etc...

i just got the whole black hawk down vibe with the new maps, not a fan of the big maps as they are more vehicle based.

overall, bad company 2, alot of respect for free maps, something COD wouldnt dream of.

Some servers (PC) have 10 sec spawn timers, some have 1 second. All about finding the right one. I personally like a 6+ second respawn. There is always that person who is 1/16 with 100 points at the end of the game. Would be worse with instant spawning.

don't get me wrong im BC2>MW2 to death but, black ops was just as much of a "full game" as BC2 Vietnam was. Vietnam could have had more features tho but i see what they are going for, the typical release a chain of expansions attached to battlefield, or in this case BC2. either way Vietnam has different game play (faster imo) and is a fun change for 15$.

I dont like vietnam, i bought it full price and regret it, Played it maybe 5 times and never plan to again. Lack of guns, no attachments, and pretty much nothing but big wide open maps.. I like to play stealthy no matter what class i play and use cover to my full advantage (not camp). I hate big open maps but thats just me. anyways bad company 2 DEFINITELY is a squad focused game. As soon as you start throwing a little know-how and skill on both sides, your team mates are what makes it.

Tanks move way too slow for me, I would rather destroy them. I run like hell though when I see one. It's harder than hell to chase a helicopter with the missle launcher on your base.

smoke when I fly. Smoke 90% of the time in tanks/APCs. the other 10% depends on the map. Warhead if I am against other tanks or gunner in a chopper. Alt when it is a map that has alot of buildings.

this is the buggiest game I have ever played. ps3 locks up, lose sound after 20 mins playing, can't join friend's games, lose all upgrades and weapons for first couple matches randomly. i tried to play the single player campaing and that ****er was locking up after 2 mins of playing wtf?? anyways still a great game in spite of all that crap.

I remember the first month or two there was atleast 5 snipers on each team.
But now I usually only see one or two.

They dont really make a big problem though, one or two mediocre snipers dont cause Much damage.

many weapons, if you don't wait half a sec for the recoil to end, if you shoot again even if the target is dead on the bullet will not hit (m14 for example, and the vss). also lag may be a factor as well, as you can fire off 10 bullets into a guy but in reality you only fired 2 before the leg caught up and you were shot. i always check the health in the 'your killer' and alot of the times they have like 2% health left too, just a matter of luck and skill. sadly most of my kills come from shooting someone who isnt looking at me lol.

The XM8 P and the Aug are my most used weapons, I will occasionally add the red dot or the 4x opt. I don't zoom in at close range though, not really sure how much that will affect it even with the cross hair on the enemy. I've tried peppering the shots instead of just holding down the fire button to try and improve the hits.

You should be able to hijack a tank from the opposing team player, you could duke it out then who ever can take the tank. Some players would be so helpless with out them.

I would be okay with some maps just have tanks and others have Apaches but with both of them on the same map it's way too hard to destroy a tank, rpg's do very little damage added with the reload time it takes.

I don't understand the fun in circling the atacama spawn in an apache killing everyone as they spawn. I used to enjoy spawning, getting in the AA gun or hitting with a tracer dart and destroying them, but these ****in baserapers have become absolute pros (ps3 version most PC servers have rules agaisnt this). Boobeytrap them. Plant C4 under the track guards where its out of view if you arent going to use them. That way if tango gets them, then you get a kill.

I guess the worst part of it is players emptying the server when this happens, more of a whine on the mechanics EA put into the game when the teams become unbalanced.

This is the most underrated tool in the game IMO.
It can also be used to one shot kill an enemy as well.
You know those maps where you can't even move from behind cover or be killed? Those are the maps you want the smoke launcher.
As defense goes, if your MMCOM can be seen by snipers, and an enemy sets the charge, smoke the **** out of it before you defuse it.

yea smoke is really useful, but I only use it with a good team based squad. if you have just randoms they never take advantage of it. got with a guy who used smoke too once and got ammo packs down, we laid down like 6-10 of them ****ers and smoked the entire map, no one even tried to move up.

Another underrated weapon is the 40mm shotgun, it's horrifically deadly at closer range and can take out multiple enemies.

I don't use it very often because the grenade launcher is more effective on most maps but it's fun to use on oasis or arica where you are guaranteed cqb.

And i prefer to use a gun in close combat.. can get more kills without reloading, alot more reliable and easier to be accurate with. I cant remember last time i used a nub tube..

lol someone was raging on me for using the noob tube 40mm the other day, dude shotguns miss completely even if you are dead on 25% of the time, are relatively uneffective past about 30 feet, and if someone gets too close its like the barrel goes thru their entire body and fires on the other side of them. not to mention it takes 1-2 seconds to reload except for the saiga/usas, ****in deadly if you are sweeping through the buildings in certain maps with a buddy though.

I just used the tank the whole map. I have certain spots on arica that I stay in on the attacking side that I always rape in. The key to the tank is keeping a distance and just bombard the whole ****. I seriously hate when people take tanks and just rush in their base and think they're going to be effective when they can get hit from every angle with RPG's.

Yah, I the tanks that stick far back and basically snipe always do the most damage... When a tank is active in the middle of a map i make it my duty to switch to a C4 class or RPG with explosive dmg perk just so i can kill him cuz its fun and easy

Tank long range is good but here is the best thing in my opinion.

Move in to the front line but not past it, so that sides are protected. When I do this with a good team, we honestly went whole rounds without everyone dieing. Insane

Yah, I the tanks that stick far back and basically snipe always do the most damage... When a tank is active in the middle of a map i make it my duty to switch to a C4 class or RPG with explosive dmg perk just so i can kill him cuz its fun and easy

I had my best k/d when I was a gunner in a tank, I would get out and repair then hop back in. I have yet to unlock the 12x sight, so I just walk around and pressing q everywhere I think a sniper might be lol.

Gunner should be an engineer and tank driver should be an assault w/ smoke. That is how you have everlasting tanks.

I managed to roll another APC today. How? I drove over a mcom and the camera went crazy and it flipped. Lulz were had because the APC blew up and took the mcom with it. It only had about 3% left, but still...

theres a misc steam group but none for bc2.. The bc2 misc community is sparce and ive never seen more than 1 person on at a time.. And even that is rare.. Only miscers i play with are ones on my steam f/l

Finally unlocked the 12x sight and sniping has never been so fun. I noticed though that the regulars that are always in the helicopters get mad when you snipe them, but they seem to think flying around spamming takes more skill lol.

I was on yesterday with a buddy of mine and I SUCKED.

We joined a friend of mine in progress and he was playing normal. I was getting nasty headshots but if I got a body shot on someone with the M95, it was crappy cause I couldn't find them after that lol.

Plus its to easy to get spotted in regular.

I never have enough rpg's to take out a tank when I'm on the ground and usually get killed by someone else on the ground.

My Engi class is g3+reddot/4x, tracer, gustav, extra explosives and extra explosive damage. I can take out about 3 tanks without resupplying as long as Im behind them. Hitting tanks (namely the Abrams) in that little square panel on the back is like 70% damage w/ extra explosive damage. I've killed a few in one shot from the back that I didn't think were damaged. I think extra explosives gets you 8 rockets total. Engineer and medic get crazy points if you know how to play.

simply...up pushes the nose up caushing you to fly backwards...down causes you to move foward because it pushes the nose down

If ur on pc.. i strongly urge u to invert your mouse control on helicopter settings.. Its the only thing i did and i instantly went from a kamikaze to a pro... Im still stuck on how to fly in a circle while keeping the nose facing the same target the whole time.

Took me 2 mins to learn how to fly. Find an empty server on a map that has a chopper and practice. The only issue you will have is moving forward and backwards. Just takes some time to learn how sensitive the mouse can be and how far you can push it. Once you get that down, it is smooth flying.

I dont like vietnam, i bought it full price and regret it, Played it maybe 5 times and never plan to again. Lack of guns, no attachments, and pretty much nothing but big wide open maps.. I like to play stealthy no matter what class i play and use cover to my full advantage (not camp). I hate big open maps but thats just me. If there was like a town or something in vietnam maybe and yes i understand thats how vietnam was but i simply do not like it.

Regular bc2 blows vietnam out the water imo.

well yeh you cant go back to bfv now...bf2 is a better game as is bfbc2.

However like pound for pound fighter (era for era)

BFvietnam was the best bf game I had fun with comapred to all the rest...a good solid 6 months of addiction. Desert Combat was good to.

Bf2 was better in many ways but I didnt like many off the maps tbh...I liked the vietnam maps and I liked EOD mod.

Obviously bfbc2 is more console/arcadey than trdaditional bf games but its better for weapons and stats etc....

Some server have some weird rules, like you can't kill someone in their base and you will get automatically killed by the server if you stay in your base and snipe someone. Also if a server admin isn't on at the time, your base could get bombed to hell and nothing would be done about it lol.
