Hi, I was curious if anyone has had the problem I'm encountering. I'm not new to weightlifting but am getting back into it after quite a long vacation. I've been working out 5-6 days a week for about 8-9 weeks. Cardio 45 mins 5x/ wk. and weightlifting 3 days with a PT.
I think I'm trimming down but haven't lost a pound which at 170 is frustrating. I can see I'm laying on muscle(Biceps bigger, increase in weights etc) I'm hoping it's somekind of muscle fat transition and my body will start dropping the weight. Thoughts?

How's your diet?
Exactly.^^ Take a closer look at your diet, because that's where the problem is. Otherwise, there would have been some scale movement by now.

How are your clothes fitting? How do you look in the mirror (or even better, photos of you today vs photos from just before you started?).
It's possible that you are losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle is denser than fat, so you could remain close to the same weight, but go down a dress size...
Is there a reason you want to see the scales move? If you're not taking part in weight class based sports, then surely how you look is more important than a number on a scale?
If you don't look any different / aren't getting smaller, then I agree with the other posters, take another look at your diet.

People don't lose fat and gain muscle at a continued even rate...it doesn't work like that. There has to be some kind of movement on the scale when you are trying to lower body fat.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all about the mirror, tape measure and progress pics as being the most important tools. But you do have to use a scale as part of your guide.

I have the same problem :(...two month and a half of working out, muscle definition is there but no movement on the scale. And I do keep track of my diet, I weight everything, and log everything and I never go beyond 1550 calories per day...

How's your diet?
I eat every 3 hours sample day
6:30 muscle milk shake
9:30 5 eggwhites or 2 eggbeaters or Tuna with Tbsp Wheatgerm
11:15 Almonds about 10pcs
11:30-12:30 Cardio
1:00 Mixed green salad and lean protein
4:00 protein shake
5:30 - 6:30 weightlifting
7:00 1 scoop protein shake
8:00 salad, lean protein
bedtime-- 1 scoop protein shake
The weekends can be sketchy. I usually have 1-2 bad meals over the Saturday or Sunday. Depending on our social obligations.
When I started the routine, I was only eating about 800-900 a day. So, it was struggle to eat this much. I was never hungry. Over the past 2 weeks, I think my Metabolism is starting to wake up. I'm counting the 3 hours til next feeding time. ;)
I'm hoping this mean weightloss is coming.

My clothes seem like they are fitting better but I haven't dropped a size yet. My husband says my shoulders/back are narrower and I'm starting to have a figure(waist line) but I can't really see it. I can tell that that fat pinch that likes to build up around the bra backstrap is not as big a Pinch. So hopefully something is starting to happen. I have my discouraging days with working out 2x day no weight loss. Aarrrggh!
