so I decided to use my sunday morning and see what HIIT is all about.
I drink my cup of coffee and head to the gym, do my normal warm up and then I HIIT it.

1- Push up x 12
2- Lunges x 12 steps
3- Abs crunch with machine added 40lb of weight x 12
4- Run on the TM machine @ 7 MPH for 1 min
5- Squats no weight x12

The Abs Crunch and TM machine were right beside each other so I did not waste a sec walking and waiting for these machines.

I was doing all these movements in same order (1-5 )with zero rest in between. I managed to do 6 sets or so before I could hardly do one more. The entire thing took about 15 min.

my HR was around 180 at the end.

so can I call this a HIIT?

HITT how I understand it and do it can be 30 seconds high intensity, 60 seconds lower intensity... 6 to 10 hiit periods
or something similar , doesn't matter how you get there as long as heart rate goes up / down in the hitt profile

i usually sprint / jog combo for my hiit

Looks like HIIT but without the interval. So HIT it! :)

This is a variation of HIIT, but between each complete set, you do could also rest but also do "active rest" (ie: one minute of low treadmill walk or low intensity elliptical...etc). I do these to mix up my routines and there are many variations. HIIT can also be strictly cardio (ie: bike, elliptical etc) by doing 30 sec interals (high/low or low/med/high) or one minute etc. The idea is to track your progress and increase the time cycle or full HIIT session and improve) What you have here is very similar to what I am doing now, I find it works well.

Depends on your goals, I think low intensity cardio is better if you're goal is to keep and build muscle.

Sounds more like a circuit, full body workout. Those are great fat burners, but not HIIT.

My goal is first to loose my belly fat. I am still over weight by at least 20lb if not more. I have lost a lot of fat at good 7-10lb a month but recently it is getting harder and harder to lose weight at same rate. I know these last 20lb will be the ball busters but I got to do it no matter what. I am just trying different things to see if they have different effects on my body.
