With all the recent fuss about the FDA cracking down on supplements, I thought people might enjoy this although I'm sure most people have heard one like it before. My parents know a woman who is having some issues in her spine and needs surgery. Until then she was prescribed a cornucopia of things to keep the pain at bay. Apparently not listening to what the Dr's were saying, or not reading any of the warnings that come with the drugs, she took a combo of Darvocet, Vicodin, Motrin, Asprin, and something else (I want to say it was Lorcet) throughout the day today and now is having GI bleeding. Makes me facepalm that the FDA is so worried about things like supplements, when people suffer harsh side effects from both proper and improper use from medications that are given to them by their Dr. legally
Cliffs:
-Woman over uses prescription painkillers
-Now had GI bleeding
-FDA needs to look at the crap the let people obtain legally from their Dr. before bringing the hammer down on the supp business
