Ive been doing keto for about 2 weeks straight now. The first couple of pounds I expected to lose. But form last week till now, I did not even lose a pound. I'm not doing cardio, but I'm lifting 4 times a week. I eat about 5 times daily. I'm taking in 10x my weight in calories. Any ideas guys?

I'm 5'7" 166 as of right now. My fat intake ranges from 113-160g, while my protein intake ranges from 120-160g per day. My carbs are always less then 20g. I usually get around 1600-1800 calories per day.

You doing any cardio along with the diet?

Your amounts seem ok, how was your protein intake before? As its not unusual for people to gain some muscle mass on keto as its the first time they have actually got in enough protein.

If the weight doesn't come off don't worry too much, use the mirror, tape and BF% as a guide. You could just be gaining mass.

Yeah bro...don't expect your weight to shoot down right away on this diet if you are lifting. You are going to gain musle mass while cutting fat....so the scale is not the appropriate measurement tool.

Eventually...you will become more in tuned to your bodies reaction to the diet and will be able to adjust your routine according to your goals.

I have been on for about a month now and actually gained 2-3 lbs!

I look in the mirror though and am very pleased with the results.

Yea, don't expect to lose fat right away if you work out hard. You'll be gaining alot of muscles and cutting fat at the same time. I've been on it for almost 30 days and I only just started losing some weight recently. But the first 25 days I've been staying the same weight. Pass 5 days I've been about 5 pounds lighter I noticed suddently. I wasn't worried at the start even tho my main goal is to losing fat I know that muscles are more important.

So if your lifts are still going up and you are still pushing yourself, I wouldn't worry about it, just give it time.

Yeah, don't worry about your total weight - you should be adding mass as well as cutting fat, so you may well hover around the same weight, but doing some cardio will help burn the fat faster.

I got stuck at the same weight for a fortnight up until last week, so I dropped a couple of hundred calories a day and because I was home for Easter I didn't make it to the gym for 5 days. Went again yesterday and I'd lost 5lb. I reckon some of this might be water, but having missed my weights and protein shakes I won't have been putting on mass as much, so the fat loss has been more obvious on the scales. I wouldn't recommend skipping the weights sessions though!

OK I started doing cardio. I'm pretty much going to do 2-3 days HIIT, and maybe one standard cardio. I'm sure that will help me out a lot. I do have the diet down right now. I'll do my carbup on sat.

If you're just getting into ketosis, wait 2 weeks before doing a carb up. Get yourself through induction before shocking your system. Otherwise it will probably take a long time to get back into ketosis afterward.
