My first journal.. and my first tournament. I gotta try and keep you guys updated with this for whoever cares that is but I might forget sometimes.
Weight: 147
Goal: Around 146+ but more conditioned
Training time: A year and a couple days.. only went to class like once a week first couple months but a year since the first class I went to.
Trainer: Lee Fortin, Purple Belt under Sylvio Behring
As you can see in the poster below for my tournament info.. the rooster weight division is 140lbs- weigh ins are on a Friday so I'll probably cut the weight to make that and hopefully be a strong 146+ on Saturday. My original plan was to start 5x5 or a type of powerlifting routine to be very strong 3 weeks ago but I didn't plan on injuries. So.. here goes.
My Jiu Jitsu schedule is tuesday - thursday - saturday.
Starting today (kind of late I know) I'm going to change my gym routine for different goals. My goals are to achieve a higher threshold for conditioning and muscular endurance and my jiu jitsu based goals are to just roll as much as possible before the tournament and work on things I already know.
I used to train for bodybuilding (hypertrophy style workouts) and I haven't been to the gym in like 3 weeks due to school/back injury. I'm all good to go now though. Here is what I did at the gym today..
clean & jerk variation 1m
Pull ups 30s
Plyo Pushups 30s
Plank 1m
Around the World (45lb plate)1m
Rest .. I tried to rest around only 1 minute but I lost track of time lots but I'll for sure be more accurate next time. I did this about 3 times and then started doing some other exercises that were kind of irrelevant.
