Well i have decided to take the plunge into my first show. Im looking to do a show in the spring time so that i have ample time to get ready. I am located in PA and am willing to travel within a reasonable distance. I just wanted to know if anyone could help me out with the schedule for some shows, if the NPC is the right fit for me and any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

For the most part, the shows you see for'09 will be there for '10 also. As far as local shows go, you can do search in a city - i.e. google this: pennsylvania npc bodybuilding. that will give youa good start. the 2010 schedule is not out yet.
Most shows are not one-shot deals. You'll see the same shows year after year. good luck

Good luck deepup15...I'm starting my diet soon as well for either the jr nationals or the USA's or both...
To answer the question about the NPC being the right route for a first show it just all depends on the route your looking to go...I'm a natural bodybuilder and am a national level competitor and have done well in the NPC...if I ran everything all the other guys were doing I'd probably really dominate but it's not for me...I'm not against the drugs by no means it's just not for me...
Good luck to everyone who is competing soon or prepping right now for upcoming shows...

Hello Everyone,
In 2009 i lost 22 pounds and i've been able to maintain it off. I recently decided that although i feel like im generally in good shape it's time to step it up. My current workour routine consists of 2-3 days of lifting combined with cardio and soley cardio on the other days. My dream is to compte in a NPC bikini competition.
Im 34, 5’6 and currently weight 127 pounds, body fat is 18-22% depending on how many drinks I have on the weekend.
I
'm getting married this October so I can’t afford a trainer at this time so, Im wondering if you have any resources that I can use to help me start my journey.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I'm heavily considering competing for the first time on March 31 at the NPC in LAkewood, OH in the Physique Division. Friends of mine have competing in the various Bodybuilding Divisions and Physique has been mentioned to me a few times. Any thoughts? Is this the right fit for me? I've done photo shoots before so I've done the sodium load/deplete, water load/deplete, and carb deplete/load. Just looking for any other pointers and opinions that I can get and they are greatly appreciated.

I want to compete in a Bikini Competition by October / November of 2013 (I know this is an older posting) but can I register at any time for the NPC or is there a deadline to register to compete this year? Just curious because the NPC website kind of confused me a tad bit. Thanks for any answers!

I am just wondering, where are you located? I also want to enter in bikini oct/nov for thw first time :)
Also, I think you can enter anytime even the day of the event but there is a late fee. You also need an npc card which is 100 dollars
