View Full Version : Does anyone get as unlucky as i do?

honestly, i have to have one of the worst lucks in fantasy football ever.
this has dated back to the last 3 years. but i want to let you guys know how this season has gone for me so far. it is sad that it is only the 2nd quarter of the 1:00 games and i already know that i am going to be 0-2. (btw i am a huge FF person. i am monitoring teams, checking injuries, etc... constantly)
last season in my money league, i led everyone in points scored, but finished in 5th place, because the weeks i would score 110 points, i would play against someone who got lucky and scored 112.
Game 1:
-I go against Drew Brees and his 6 TD passes
-All my WRs decide not to show up: Boldin-1, Walter- OUT, Housh-4, Berrian-0, Santana-0
-I start Matt Schaub over Eli (6 point differential)
-I go against Chad Ochocinco who had 6 points in the last 2 minutes
barely lose this game.
Game 2:
-I drop Matt Schaub because he had 4 points last week...so he decides to throw for 184 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT in the 1st half this week
-I go against Chris Johnson, who decides to score 26 points in the 1st half
-I go against Tim Hightower- Beanie and Boldin get the Cards all the way down to the 2, just to get Hightower 6 free points
-I go against Visanthe Shiancoe. instead of the Vikings running it in from the 1 with the best RB in the NFL, they decide to throw it to this whore
-I go against Marques Colston, who has 2 TD receptions
-I go against Stephen Gostkowski. all the Pats have done is kick field goals this game and he has as many points as DeAngelo
this kid i am playing scored 49 points all of last week or something...made a couple adjustments to his team, and now has 75 points in the 2nd quarter of the 1:00 games.

you went against chris johnson vs. the texans D and against drew brees' main WR? that doesn't sound unlucky to me. sounds pretty dumb.

Dropping Chris Johnson because he wasn't amazing vs. the Steelers in week 1, and then dropping Drew Brees' favourite WR for reasons only you can know, is just plain stupid son. Not unlucky.

Drew Brees' main WR that is working against one of the top corners in the game, in Asante Samuel. Chris Johnson had 6 points last week, even if it was against the Steelers Defense. the Texans still have a very solid front 7 with Mario, Okam, Okoye, Smith, Demeco, and Cushing.
You dropped Schaub because of 1 game? Thats not unlucky, that's called being a dumbass
no. it was because i already had Eli as my backup and i wasn't going to drop him. Schaub has never really been a fantasy QB. 15 TD, 10 INT last year and has never started all 16 games in a season. then i picked up Trent Edwards, A. because he is a solid FF QB, and B. because he is going against the TB defense that got rocked by Tony Romo last weekend.

You dropped Schaub for Edwards??? WTF Man. You are dumb.
And how is Schaub not a fantasy QB but Edwards is a solid one when Schaub scored more points last year in fantasy.
Dont ask how you lose when you do dumb sh*t like that and try to defend your dumb moves when people try to tell you it was dumb
And Schaub didnt even play 5 games last year and still outscored Edwards.....Strong WTF on your part

you are a Braves fan, and i like that. but please. please stick to Baseball. your little football knowledge blows me away.
Edwards wasn't a solid fantasy QB last year. i never said he was. this year, however he is...and he proved that in week 1 against the Pats.
15-25, 212 yards, 2 TD, 0 turnovers (18 points) -- #6 ranked QB
Trent Edwards has TO to throw to, Lee Evans, Fred Jackson, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, and even James Hardy. right now, currently all Schaub has to throw to is Owen Daniels and Andre Johnson with Kevin Walter being injured. i like Edwards' odds much more than Schaub's right now. oh and btw, Trent Edwards missed 2 games as well last year.
Trent Edwards is facing the Tampa Bay defense that gave up 353 yards and 3 TD, with no picks last week to Tony Romo and the Cowboys. if you knew anything about the NFL, you would know how thin and below average the Bucs' secondary is.
once again, i liked Trent Edwards' odds. he has great receivers to throw to against a very shady secondary.
im fine with you giving stats about last year, like Schaub missing 5 games...but the fact of the matter is this season isn't last year. the Bills have upgraded their WR corps with adding TO and with Marshawn out, the better receiving back Fred Jackson gets the starting jig. this season is different than last year, so i am not going to base all my decisions off of whether or not Matt Schaub had more fantasy points than Trent Edwards did.

do yourself a favor and drop Edwards for Schaub if no one gets him before he clears waivers

Trent Edwards: 1-1, 32 yards, 1 TD
Schaub has a good game. i understand, but there is no way he is going to keep this up each and every game. Trent Edwards so far looks like he is going to be consistent. 18 points the first week and already 7 points on his first play this week.

yeah, i dont really care about my league, since it isn't a money league, but it still sucks to lose. i think it is more the fact that i play the best players every week. Chris Johnson, Tim Hightower, Marques Colston...
i also need to do something about my WRs. looking at them you would think they would be my strongest point on my team, but lets look at season totals:
Anquan Boldin- 7
Santana Moss- 1
TJ Houshmandzadeh- 8 (still playing)
Kevin Walter- 0 (out)
Bernard Berrian- 4
i really thought they were going to be pretty solid, but my highest WR ranking is probably going to be Housh at like 50 after this week.

We have a 12 person league, h2h $40 a piece. I have TJ Housh also, dont know what the **** he is doing though. My trade for Percy Harvin got denied :(

i will bump this because of week 3. yay. im losing 47-34 right now but i think i may pull out a win. but this kid im playing has 4 players playing, including Aaron Rodgers. who btw did absolutely nothing in the 1st quarter but is able to finish with 28 points...why?
-40 rushing yards
-1 rushing TD (6 points, rather than 4 in my league for a passing TD)
-and with 4:50 left in the game, up by 2 scores on 2nd down, the Packers decide to throw a TD, which gets this kid 5 more points
also, Westbrook happens to get injured for me against the Chiefs defense and i don't start McCoy because i am iffy on him being a rookie, so he scores 14 on my bench.
i cannot start 0-3
edit: haha yes! Aaron Rodgers just kneeled the ball at the end of the game, so that took him below 40 yards rushing, so this kid loses a point.
You dropped Schaub because of 1 game? Thats not unlucky, that's called being a dumbass
x2, when Schaub is healthy he is pretty good fantasy QB, I tried to trade for Schaub as my back up after his bad week 1
Based on that logic I should have dropped Andre Johnson after his first game.

WOW, ESPN ****ed me today. They wrote reports saying Randy Moss hurt his back didnt practice on Saturday and is 'quesitonable' today. Then what does he do? 16 ****ing points. THEN I go look at Knowshon Moreno, who was Q with a groin injury. He hasn't done **** all year, and has a 15 point game. I go with Trent Edwards for QB and he gives me 7 ****ing points, while I had Big Ben on the bench with 23. ****kkkkkkkkkkkkk

Okay I am going to hate on you a little bit because you have been told numerous times about Randy Moss and ESPN. First-ESPN sucks, people have listed TheHuddle.com, RotoWorld and plenty of other sites where you could go to get reliable info. ESPN is wrong more than they are right.
Second, just because Randy Moss was picked high doesnt mean he is going to go for 30 points every game relax. Posting his scoring updates 15 times isnt doing anything to help this board. And finally relax, he is a stud and he will come up with scores other people never could. 10 REC for 100+? I will take it.

You still think you made the right decision brah? And im really not trying to be a dick here. Im just telling you that you messed up on that one.
i understand i messed up. according to ESPN's fantasy football leagues, 18% of the people who owned Matt Schaub dropped him after week 1. so looks like im not the only person. who cares if it was one bad move? i am more so talking about the players i go against and how lucky the other teams i play get, which makes it unlucky for me.
Drew Brees
Chris Johnson
Marques Colston
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees did nothing this week, but when he plays me he scores 38.
and im fine with the other moves i made other than dropping Schaub:
-today i decided to start Santana Moss over Housh at the last minute
-decided to start Steve Smith (NYG) over Devery Henderson at the last minute
-and other good decisions i have made.
