I know Detroit's defense is awful but just the fact that he got 28 touches means Bell is *the* feature back in New Orleans. Stats from yesterday:

New Orleans Rush Yds Avg Lng TD FumL
M. Bell 28 143 5.1 22 0 1

Obviously you can't expect this every week but if you are weak at RB then this guy is likely out there for FREE.

EDIT: Meh, can't the numbers to line up. Anyway, 143 yds on 28 carries, nuff said!

i had picked him up on saturday

definately helped me out this week, but should i drop him as Pierre Thomas will probably be back next week which means Bell will barely touch the ball?

I think Bell may have just won the job. Yeah it would suck him splitting with Thomas though. I still think Bell is the better back.

You are crazy if you think M.Bell won the starting job. P. Thomas is the guy in NO's. If he is healthy next week and the rest of the season M.Bell will have little value.

I wouldn't drop him just yet. I would wait to see how P.Thomas is doing. If he starts then yeah I would probably drop him. There will probably be better value out there on the waiver wire.

I wish I was faster on the draw for him. I really think he could be the feature back this year. What a bust Reggie Bush is turning out to be ...

The feature back is pierre thomas and it's not even close, lol.

Bell was just in for Thomas cause he's injured.

lol guess OP has never heard of Pierre Thomas. Mike bell won't get over 10 carries for the rest of the year.

i will hold onto Bell until Pierre proves on Sunday that he is healthy and does not get re-injured. There are reports that Bell could take over the starting role (read it on espn message boards), but I obviously don't believe that for a second. It gives me a little more reason to wait before i drop him though.

You are a fool if you think Bell is going to start over Thomas. It's not close.

Thomas is the feature back, but he hasn't done anything special in his career to prove it yet.

I've always said this and it's always worked: If a guy hasn't produced in the past and he's hyped up big this season, he's not worth the early pick.

I guess you missed the second half of last season. Not only that he averaged 4.8 yards per carry last year. He can catch the ball and run the ball.

Mike Bell will be used for short yardage.

This right here, Bell is insurance for the Saints and it worked this weekend. Once Thomas is healthy he will steal some short yardage carries away from him.

Looks like I'm not the only one thinking Bell may get the majority of snaps from here on out:

Word is Saints RB Mike Bell has a legitimate chance to overtake Pierre Thomas as the team's primary rusher. If one player has the hot hand, head coach Sean Payton will likely stick with him, and with Thomas nursing a knee injury, he could fall behind Bell in the early going.

Guess we'll keep an eye on Bell and Thomas and see.

I have yet to see one word about this from Sean Payton. It's all people hoping on the Bell train. However little do they know it's on a short track. Thomas is the better back and has way more versatility.

Michael Bush is a WW steal.

Splitting carries with McFadden and he still got 50 yds and a TD. Guy was running hard too. He'll get good carries and has goal line TDs written all over him. Then if McFadden gets dinged up he's gonna be the no. 1.

PT > Bell I mean Bell got to experience how nice running is when you don't have 8 in the box and he did well. Let's not forget this was the same game in which Brees tossed what 6 TDs? I mean this was the Lions...

Had Bell went off like this in a close game against a Titans/Steelers/Ravens type of defense then may be I could agree with drinking the kool-aid, but nah...not so fast my friend!

My question is if you own both of em, who do you start this week? If they clear Thomas to play does that make him a must start, or is this now a wait and see timeshare?
