OK, so ive been doing cardio everyday as well as weight training and abs. I am also doing weight watchers. But when i weigh in every week i dont lose much eventhough I have alot I want to lose...my boyfriend tells me that eventhough the scale doesnt go down he can see a difference in my body...i am also told not to pay attention to numbers and just go by my clothes. When i weigh in and it isnt as good as it should be it discourages me and i want to give up but people say there is a difference...what is more important? I dont want to weigh alot whether it be fat or muscle...im so confused...

I'm leaner with a smaller waist 15 pounds heavier than when I started. The scale can be a good tool if you know how to use it, but if you're obviously tightening up and making progress it doesn't matter what the scale says.

Definitely always go with inches because muscle weighs more than fat, so the scale is not going to decrease as much as you would like it to, but you will get tighter and slimmer.

How can one pound of muscle weigh more than one pound of fat?
Just think of muscle as a small, compact unit- like a brick. Fat is more like feathers. So one pound of muscle is more compact and firm than one pound of fluffy feathers.
I don't see why you wouldn't want the benefits of the extra calorie burn of muscle, which may equal more scale weight but you will look tighter, leaner and better in your clothes.
Or you can weigh less, be able to eat less and look like a bag of marshmallows stuffed into a sausage casing...
