Got all Cabela's brand clothing. Stuff isnt cheap but I hope it will do a good job of keeping me warm when its 10 degrees outside. It seemed like a good idea to invest in some real cold weather gear instead of freezing my ass off in my stand. Anywho, I do have a question. Anyone have suggestions on some good shooting gloves that will keep my hands warm but not be too thick and bulky?

I could tell you stories....they probably wouldn't mean much but.......I grew up near the equator. I absolutely despise the cold.

I live in central Alabama by happenstance now and despise the winters here.

winters are a love hate relationship. i have no problem with 15 degree weather, last winter for a week straight it was less then 7 degrees. one night i remember it was 3. too cold.

but then occasionally youll get a warm day in the midst of a cold snap, if its been consistently 15 degrees, i can walk out into 32 degree weather wearing a t-shirt and jeans and be fine for a while.

another plus is it turns the bed of my truck under my tonneau cover into a cooler.

For gloves I'd look at something neoprene (diving suits are made out of it). You retain most of your dexterity and they will keep you warm in any temperature. The only thing I dislike about them is that they do not breathe at all, so your hands will be soaked with sweat when you take them off. The tradeoff is that the moisture keeps your hands warm while the gloves are on. They are also waterproof so you don't have to worry about your hands gettin wet from snow, etc.

These are pretty cheap, and they have a liner which will alleviate the sweating problem a bit.
