I started a keto diet eating every 2-3 hours.
I usually get between 1500-1800 calories a day. My maintenance is 2500 and my fat loss is 2000 and my extreme fat loss is 1500 ish.
I calculated my macros and I ended up eating 80 grams of carbs today, which is horrible. I had about 220g of protein and the rest in fat. My macros came out to 20% carbs, 50 or so % protein (closer to 60), and the rest in fat.
I read a lot of people getting about 20g of carbs for their keto diet. I am losing weight with how I am eating right now but am I still getting too many carbs?
I read Arnold's guide about getting 50-100g of carbs a day, and I am in that range however keto diets that I have read show that for cutting, you should be getting under 50, closer to 20-30.
I usually try to eat to about 1500 calories and then I just calculate my macros from what I ate.
How can I cut the carbs while being full throughout the day, etc.? How can I reduce the carbs and better my keto diet? Or am I already on the right track?
if youre losing weight with 80 grams of carbs a day and end up losing between .5lb and 2lbs per week you on track, keep doing what your doing.
Some people can stay in Keto with higher carbs than others.
I stay around 20 - 30 grams a day and am in keto.
Good luck with it.

Yesterday I got around 1800 calories in. Today so far, I have gotten 1450 calories 180g protein 59g fat and 43g carbs. 64% protein. 21% fat. 15% carbs. I about an hour ago and am about to sleep soon.
I ate 2 burger patties (4 ounces per patty) throughout the day. 190 calories per patty. 10g fat per patty. 0 carbs. 24g protein per patty.
I ate 8 ounces of chicken breast throughout the day. 4 ounces = 120 calories 3g fat and 22g protein. 0 carbs. yay
I ate 14 Flaxseed with soy tortilla chips made with organic corn (organic chips)
(140 calories 7g fat 14g carbs and 5g protein per 7 chips)
I had a PWO. 2 scoops of ON whey protein. 240 calories 48g protein 6g carbs 2g fat
I had another 4 ounces of chicken breast. 120 calories 3g fat 22g protein 0 carbs
Sodium-free peanuts. 8g protein. 100 something calories, I forget. 5g carbs. 14g fat.
Lastly, 1 scoop of ON casein before bed, which is already added into the macros.
I ate every 2-3 hours. I just split the 8 ounces of chicken breast and the 8 ounces of ground beef patty and ate it throughout the day to keep my metabolism going. I did 35 minutes on the treadmill today (toggling from 3.5 to 4.0 mph constantly going up and down that every few minutes), took a strength and conditioning class for 1 hour, did 3-4 sets of deadlifts, one-armed dumbbell rows, wide-grip and close-grip lat pull downs, seated rows, and some other stuff while supersetting it with tricep exercises. Only 40 seconds to 1 minute rest in between sets and always supersetting. I did 3 sets of dumbbell curls and another 3 sets of hammer curls and did a circuit training for my abs to end my workout.
I tried to keep my carb levels down since I got 80g of carbs yesterday. Got about half that today. I might try to do 0 carbs tomorrow, minus what I get from the ON whey and casein.

Well, I figure, they are organic, I haven't hard carbs for the day yet, and salsa isn't so bad for you either (20 calories, no protein, no fat, 2g of carbs). I'll switch it up sometimes where I'll eat non-fat 100 calorie yogurt or something. I figure, 2 of those yogurts would be around 30-40 carbs which seems like a lot for such a small serving. What I mainly try to do is make sure I get between 1500-1800 calories, somehow I got 1300 today, but after I hit the calories, I just calculate my macros and see what I came up with. Keeping carb content low is my main concern, I have no problem getting more than 1g protein per body pound, and I can care less about fats because everything I eat is pretty much very low in fat. In the end, I guess it only matters about your macros. I know I can cut out the chips and sub it for something else, but I guess I don't care too much about it as long as it fits in with my daily requirements of this and that.
your fats are pretty low still, this makes some people(myself included lack energy) try get fats to the same as your protein intake.
Im not sure of the science behind it but i believe it can help speed up fat loss.
Ideal macros for keto type diets are 65%fat, 30%pro and 5% carb.

add olive oil or mayo
I ate 14 Flaxseed with soy tortilla chips made with organic corn (organic chips)

would cut the chips and eat almonds or avacado
I had a PWO. 2 scoops of ON whey protein. 240 calories 48g protein 6g carbs 2g fat
[add some PB or olive oil to shake

You need more fat, replace the chips with almonds or PB and cheese and olive oil to burgers.
I would also do the same with the chicken.

I guess I'll take in some healthy fats. My carb count is still pretty high though.

Where are the veggies?????
Keto diets are very acidic. You need to countreact that with veggies. Plus you can eat a ton of veggies & keep your carb calories low. Plus you will be getting the fibre & micro nutrients you need.
IMO and experience if you are trying to lose Body Fat you shou keep fat intake to roughly 20-25% of your daily macros.
80g carbs is not high by any means

Today, I added organic broccoli into my diet. The macros for it are great. 1 cup of organic broccoli = 20 calories.
Today consisted of
I did 3 sets of 10-15 leg extensions, leg curls, seated calf raises, and hack saw. HIIT for 20 minutes on the treadmill before the workout. After the workout, walked at 3.5 MPH on the treadmill for 5 minutes to cool down.
Wake up and take animal cuts and 2 gummy complete multivitamin
4 hours later, take 2nd pack of animal cuts
10 AM - 4 ounce chicken breast and 1 cup of broccoli and 340 calories worth of unsalted peanuts
1 PM - 4 ounce chicken breast and 1 cup of broccoli
4 PM - PWO (2 scoops of ON whey)
7 PM - Salad with italian dressing (small serving)
10 PM - 4 ounce chicken breast
1 AM - 1 scoop of ON casein
4 ounce chicken breast = 120 calories I think. 2 scoops of ON = 240 calories
Today I got in approximately 1200 or 1300 calories, which is a little below my extreme fat loss calorie intake.
Tomorrow, I'll switch out some chicken breast for some canned tuna. The organic broccoli tastes pretty good. It isn't a chocolate chip cookie but nonetheless I feel satisfied from eating it.
