I've never competed, but i plan to in the future, and i was just wondering if when your coming into a contest do you stop taking creatine, or would you be on it for the contest?

Personal pref my friend ... this is my first and I'm staying on it all the way through. I don't have any bloating issues or water retention so I see no need to drop it.
Short answer ... if it effects you negatively as far as sharpness then drop it but if it doesn't then it's totally up to you.

whats your logic behind dropping creatine the last week? correct me if im wrong but doesn't creatine make you hold water in your muscles? thats exactly where you want it to be

The bloat issues come from diet in most cases and front loading Creatine Monohydrate using stupid amounts of simple sugars. In the past, people would take about 5 times the typical dose of Creatine, to "load" it, for about a week. People would also drill a good 20-30 grams of fruit juice or other sugar with each serving. Then they would all sit around and say, "creatine made me bloated".
5g a day of monohydrate (not the overprices garbage) is the most anyone needs and even that is probably overkill. You can just toss it into your post workout shake and I bet it will not bloat you at all.
As far as the contest goes, get closer and see how you're responding to different things. I don't think mild doses of creatine would be a problem if your diet is good.

i would definitely stay on it, but not in a formula that is high in simple sugars. you can put it straight in your protein if you are low carb, or use it with a waxy-maize base for carbs. i am four weeks out from a show now and will be using all the way through as a during workout drink. if you keep the creatine and add a good amino product, or atleast a bunch of bcaas, you will be able to keep more strength and train harder while cutting up to the show. good luck man!
