It looks like none of them are. Olympic weights have 2" holes. Those bars aren't thick enough. Maybe the first one, but that would have to be a fat bar.

Ya, I guess the black bar makes it look thicker than it really is

No, look at the sleeves. Olympic bars have 2" diameter sleeves and just over 1" center.

You're right.....not one person knows what this means.

Punctuation is your friend, bro.

Whenever I ask, I just make sure to let them know the difference...and then they reply saying..."I'm not sure, I think it's..." lol why not measure?

LOL, I meant I really didn't know what he meant because of the lack of punctuation! I get it now!

And yes I've had this same issue. I really love the people who insist they're just the "standard" plates for weightlifting......when the picture looks an awful lot like olympic plates.

I realize if you aren't really into this stuff it would be easy to think they're "standard" because they seem to be more common now adays.....so I'm not beating up on those people who don't know. Its just funny to realize we have a specific jargon like any niche.

I have had some interesting conversations though. Sometimes I get a little frustrated because I know exactly what I want and they don't know exactly what they have. If the pics they give suck.....well sometimes I just say hell with it if the drive is too far and they don't want to get me better info. Don't want to waste everybody's time.

what makes it even harder for some people: the olympic plates that say "standard barbell" on them.

Here in the UK there are standard plates that have "olympic" stamped on them.

Not really. Only confusing if you're talking on the phone to somebody who doesn't know. In person its pretty easy. Big hole is olympic and little hole is standard.

Its just a pain because someone who went out and got a bench press one weekend on a whim just bought what the store had. Now that they haven't used it in a year and they need the space.....they just want to get rid of their "Squat Rack, Complete set of gym quality weights [standard variety], including clips and small barbell handles for that finish work".

LOL, tell me you guys haven't seen that ad!

:D

I really want to know what a "complete set" of weights is!
