6 weeks till the 2009 Naturalmania. First of all, I'm James McGuire. I have been lifting weights since January 2005. I was a skinny little guy. I met Rich Lauro, you all know him as Rich55. I seen him compete in 2005. I was amazed by this Natural sport. Rich started training me for my first show in 2006. Now we are best friends and training partners. I have had Great Success. I continue to keep up Natural bodybuilding and promote the sport. I will be keeping a journal of my contest prep. I just finished up a show in Evansville Indian. I took 1st place at the Mid America Pro Am Aug 1st. Here is my diet and workout.

By the way , my name is Junior and I just won my WNBF pro card by taking the lightweight class at the 2009 INBF HERCULES in NYC on june 27th 2009.( I'm currently preparing for my first pro show , the 2010 WNBF PRO AMERICA in MA....it's good to be in off-season mode...I could eat to grow! )I saw the pics from the Pro Am show you did, you have great overall proportion and very good size on your legs. The only thing you need(as friendly constructive criticism) is more calves. What worked for me because a couple of years ago I didn't have any was hitting them 3 to 4 days a week(because they are a stubborn muscle), high reps a get a full stretch & contraction and squeeze at the top. The stairmaster also helped me develop my calves. I remember seeing you in the Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Magazine not to long ago too, believe me you will win your pro card!! Good luck in the Naturalmania... believe me, you should win your pro-card!! I've been competing since 1999 and doing INBF shows since 2005 and I know the hell we go through preparing for a show but at the end it's worth all the hard work...especially for a person like me who has been a type I diabetic for 24 years..it's very hard to be on low carbs.

Congrats on the Pro Card. I been crushing my cavs and will continue it for the next 5 weeks. That is something I will focus on. Good luck and train like a nayural freak for you first Pro show.

Sunday was a off day for me. 30mins of Cardio at 7am. I had a family day with my daughter. I watched her eat a pizza from Donatos and then we made Reese Cup Smores out back on the fire pit. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I wanted one soooo BAD !

We hit back and Bi's on monday with a friend from the gym. I can proudly say we gave someone the competing bug. Charles jumped in with us for a GREAT workout. I love when other people workout with Rich and I. Every time people workout with us they come back the next day and say " I am so SORE ". I love it. I will be training clients soon. Working on my ACE for the next couple months.

So, Yes I woke up at 8am to get to a 9am meeting and rushed to coffee house downtown where the meeting was held, Grabed a drink and looked around and no one was even there??????? So i walked around the corner in the RAIN to the gym. Called everyone and they say meeting was canceled ?????? So yes I was WET and had walked back to the truck and guess what James had on his window ??? A ticket for the meter running out. What a nice day its gonna be. Glad I got the Memo. Life goes on and no need to let that get me down. I have a show to WIN! Legs today ;o)

Matt593 and I did legs and we kept each other going. It was like 100 deg in the gym due to the AC not working. I kept my head together and pushed on. This was not easy but I have 1 thing on my MIND! A WNBF PRO CARD. I WONT STOP.

Thank You. It don't bother me to workout alone because so many people at the gym watch what I'm doing. I keep motovated and remember that I have goals and nothing is going to hold me back. I was in church last sunday and the preacher said to everone" WHAT DO YOU WANT"

So you do your workouts in the morning and cardio in the evening?
Doesn't make you a bit hyper as in close to bed time and you can't sleep? For me, cardio usually wakes me up instead of of tired, unless I lifts weights prior.

Am I making any sense:o

I do my cardio in morning one time and sometimes at night. Just depends. It dont affect my sleep at all. Rich should be training back with me soon.

Today was a little ruff but I made it. I have been making gains and the weights keep moving up but today it was at a stand still and stayed the same this week. It was ruff due to No Spot partner. It is a mental thing I think ? Rich will be back soon. He is taking care of his wife and new born baby. I did chest and Tris today and then cardio tonight and tyed the stair step machine.

Funny pics, man. I can relate all too well....... yesterday, I went to TWO parties in one day, both with amazing food. At my buddies 30th I was wathing everyone else eat sausage and peppers, cakes, all the alcohol you could imagine........I ate my salmon and pita bread. Then, off to my other friends house for UFC 102 last night. Oh man......he had meat on his smoker ALL day......beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs,.....it was unreal. I did crack and have a bit of brisket, just to taste it. ;). Those are the toughest times.....when everyone is partying and eating and you choose to stay the course. Thats a good test of character right there. Keep up the good work and good luck with the show!

So Rich is back at the gym after the birth of his new beautiful baby Ava. I was so EXCITED to get back at it. I am a little over 2 weeks away and there has been a lot going on. Not to tell to much but there will be a new training studio in Columbus Ohio and I will be one of the owners and trainers there. More will be told later on. Rich has changed up my pace and lowered my Cals to 2100 OUCH! I need to get freaky ripped. I am at 167 pounds on monday and will loose the other few before show. Yup, getting all ready for the big dance!!! :cool: Wish I could be there to cheer you on man, but you know I'll be pulling hard for you back home.

I just wanted to let everyone know that James is fluctuating a few pounds heavier (163-165) and bigger than the Mid-America (162) while being even leaner. That show was August 1. FREAK!!!

I can't even imagine what the offseason will bring :D Bwahhaaa......bwahhaaaahhhhaaaa!! **my attempt at a Dr. Evil laugh**

Today I been preping for the show. I went out and enjoyed the city. It was nice to drive around and jam to the radio with the windows down. I will be tanning up a little later. I went past MLK High school today and was Excited!

I went to GOLDS GYM with my buddy SEAN to get a quick PUMP UP workout. NICE GYM. I did the XTEND BLUE RASPBERRY MMMMM THATS GOOOOOD!

All the HOME WORK is about done and time to turn it in at 11 am tomorrow :o)

Hey fellas I just been training for the INBF Cardinal Classic Sept 26th. I took 2nd place at the Naturalmania. The guy that beat me out from getting my Pro Card was a guy I beat 6 weeks ago at the Mid America ProAm. I wonder Hmmmm. He looked great. I had beat him Last year at that show as well. All I can do is keep my head up and keep trying.

you came in second to the overall winner, lots to be proud of, and he looked AMAZING, and from the one pic they have up so do you, but man did he nail his peak! INBF Cardinal Classic, you got it!!!

Agreed, take one in the chin and keep moving. Mick looked great, and I am sure you did to. Mind you, his coach promoted the show you beat him in. Part of being a pro is more than just card, but a responsibility carry yourself in a professional manner.

Go get it bro, your physique is worthy of pro status. Just go make it official.

Mick looked amazing... great bber and a great guy. James came in to my place in NYC pretty watery on Thursday and through Friday- all in his hams and glutes... we eventually did some tricks to dry him up and fill him out more which worked. Dude is always dry from the front, its the rear that kills him. Mick was just tighter and fuller, and had better separation and more detail in the back/ side shots (especially quads & hams). James eventually filled out and looked great at night, but too little too late. All in all a great showing tho!

Hit it hard and dial in the diet next year dude. Good luck at the Cardinal!

He was on point for his previous shows, but is better than ever before at this moment. Anyone will look watery if refeeding and sitting around for 9 hours in a car. But, that is not anything that could not be fixed by doing a little work. Cutting water and taking natural diuretics is not the answer and nor was it in his case.

And don't confuse dry with lean. Mick gets MEGA shredded and that's it. He doesn't cut his water and take natural diuretics to get them that way and neither did James in the above pictures. Continuing to add quality mass to his legs (as we have focused on since 2006) will give him that added detail. Heck, I think he added a pound of lean mass to his glutes just since August with our training haha.

BTW folks, James is competing in a very competitive lineup at the INBF Cardinal Classic lineup this weekend that awards a WNBF pro card to the overall winner. Several previous INBF and Natural NPC champs are slated to compete. Yo Yellock took it last year and Robert Peacock took it the year before and this year it's going to big James!!! :D

Just talked to James. He said that it is between him and Greg Bremec in his weight class, but that it is really close. There is some competition in each class that is going to be pushing for the overall and that pro card. James took a shot last night that I will post up when I get home. He is certainly at his best ever. Stay tuned!

Yes, next time there will be no dought in my mind or anyones. I will get it soon and i will just be bigger and better for my Pro Show when I get that WNBF Pro Card. I have a ONBF PRO CARD but never competed in and Pro Show with it.

Thanks, I will be doing the INBF Natural Herculies in 2010. It was nice to meet you.

We will be doing our show INBF Natural Buckeye Classic in April. The site is naturalbuckeyeclassic.com

I will have that card in 2010 My diet and training is going to be off the charts.

I will be keeping another log on my day to day moves till show day. I may have not gotten the card this year but I'm that much closer to it.

Good luck next year and I can't wait to read the post. When do you plan on starting?

I plan on tring to fix my flaws in the next 3-6 months then make a run at a pro card in 2010. Who knows, I may see you at the Buckeye in April.

Congratulations on a very successful year and may better things come in 2010!
