I had a biceps tenodesis & subscapularis repair done in Dec. Once the sling was off after a few weeks I start PT and that went well. I progressed at light speed and basically blew the doors off whatever my PT gave me to do. In April I stopped going because my insurance wasn't paying for the PT anymore and for about 2 months I really didn't do much rehab on my own (my own fault) but figured I would just let things rest.
Well now it's almost 7-8 months since the surgery and I've been going to the gym a few times a week doing full-body stuff, mostly shoulders and legs and I throw in some lat pull-downs, arms, abs, etc. For chest I haven't been doing much of anything -- I just grab two 5-10 pounds dumbbells and do 20-30 reps of incline DB press but even then I feel pain in my shoulder.
So tonight I tried to see if I should start doing push-ups instead and I did a few but then I started feeling the sharp pain again. So I got up and did push-ups leaning against my dresser and that felt really good.
So basically I am looking for some re-assurance here. How long did it take most people to recover from their shoulder surgeries and be able to lift full ROM again? I mean, I don't mind AT ALL that I am not benching 100 lb DB's by now or deadlifting 400 pounds but I did figure I would be at least lifting light weights without pain.
I am nervous that my shoulder didn't heal right, that I should've stayed in PT or something.
ANY help would be much appreciated!
