After tearing my ACL and Medial Meniscus in 2002, I had successful surgery and was back on track with lifting and running. In 2008 I tore the Lateral meniscus on the same knee (flap tear), had a scope, and the area was repaired but the result was a decent amount of scar tissue. I find it much more difficult to simply get back out there and start training due to the weakness in the affected leg. I am 25 so having lasting knee trouble is not my idea of a good life.

Since I am extremely active (runner, mountain biker, and weight lifter) I need to build up my quads, glutes, and hams again due to the atrophy that resulted pre and post surgery. I also want to focus on strengthening the muscles around the knee to better deter any further injuries. What exercises should I use, avoid, and are there any additional supplements anyone can recommend to assist? I am consulting with my doctor as well, before you ask. Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much meniscus remains. You may have to throttle your ambitions. Basically, if it causes lingering knee pain, then avoid it.
