Hi All,
I am curious how other at home moms spend their time. I want to be able to use all waking hours effectively for either taking care of the fam or taking care of my body so I wonder what others are doing.
Summer break:
Up by 7 bike to bakery about 1 km
Start coffee & have meal 1
take daughter to day camp
At the gym by 9:30 am
At home by 11:30 eat meal 2
Journal workout clean house
Fix lunch for the 3 kids at home
12:30 sirf the Internet or something as inactive as this
this goes on until about 2pm then meal 3
then preppring for dinner about 3:30pm
bike to get the girl at 4:45 pm another km
meal 4 is about 5:30 or 6 pm
Read with the two youngest kids then they are off at 7:30
then nothing until about 9 pm when I go to bed
Why does my day seem to be nothing more than eating and eating and more eating but no real substance?

I hear you! I'm at home for the summer with my three and it has definately not been what I planned. Partly because the weather here sucks right now Cool and rain all the time. Normally its really hot and humid so I had planned lots of biking and swimming activities for us. Now it seems like I just count down the hours until my hubby comes home so I can hit the gym. During the school year I was taking my kids to the gym daycare in the am but they kept catching headlice , YUCK! so I ain't taking them back.
I thinking of looking for a yoga video that we can all do together or maybe getting Wii fit. We take a daily walk but its just not enough activity for me or the kids.
Good luck, I hope we both get out of our SAHM rut!

My husband and I are both at home, me since our youngest was born in 2003, him since he retired (he was a cop) in 2005. When he retired, our plan was to try to make do with just his pension until our youngest started kindergarten, and that will happen next month.
I'm pretty non-domestic, so I do what needs to be done, but I don't spend a whole lot of time on housework. My husband pitches in around the house much more now that he's not working. We get things done so we can take the kids for a walk or to a playground, pool, or lake, and we both spend a lot of time reading. I got my workout in at 5:45 this morning, and I'll probably go to yoga tomorrow.
The school year lends a certain amount of structure to our days, so our summers are pretty lazy and unstructured, and we prefer it that way, though some people might find it boring. Since we have four girls who are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities, we're constantly on the run from mid-August to the end of May, so we look forward to what down time we get in the summer. Wednesday is actually our busiest day: today three of the girls will go to a kids' yoga class, and all four girls will attend the public library's summer reading program.

I'm a work at home mom. I don't have a day care or summer camp to take my kid to.
I get up at 7 and feed all the animals the go to work out in the garage for about an hour. I change the laundry while I'm out there so a load gets done everyday. When I'm done, I wake up sleeping beauty and she helps me fold clothes. I shower while she watches some kid shows. Then we both go down and have breakfast. I end up working all day while she colors or builds forts in the house. We go outside and I work on my laptop while she rides her bike or skateboard around. My husband comes home and we eat lunch. On MWF she goes to swimming lessons at 5. Then we go shopping or visit grandmothers and have coffee. My husband comes home about 8 and we eat dinner. Then we chill out and watch some tv, play games and chat. The girl goes to sleep when we do during the summer so she can see dad a little bit more. I have his mother in law clean our house because I don't have time. I mostly work all day while she plays and wrecks the house. Exciting?

All the activites yeah here in Belgium we have been getting rain so no swimming or outdoor stuff. You know I took a Zumba class and I am going to try it with my girls (11 and 7). I knew all the moves and I think it will be fun my little guy can run aorund us but it will break up my day a little more so I can stop emailing my husband lolololol Maybe your kids might like it too, I plan on doing it in the living room so we'll see.

Have any home repairs to work on? Maybe start a garden? If you spend lots of time eating, maybe make something out of it with a kids cookbook to soak up time. We started a salt water tank and my daughter has been learning about chemistry and critters...she's 4. I try to have her help me with stuff. Not only does it make it take more time but she learns some things in the process. Today she helped me wash the car.
