Hi everyone! I want to introduce myself since I plan on spending some time on here!

I was in the Marine Corps from the time I was 17-23 (1998-2003) and that is when I initially started lifting. But that is all I did, I never 'ate clean' nor did I even know what it was all about... I would go hit the gym after work every day with a good male friend of mine that was pretty huge and he taught me everything that I needed to know about doing exercises properly, etc. But we'd hit the pizza place on the base on our way back to the barracks!!!! I continued lifting after I got out for about 2 years but I never kept track of BF% or ate clean or anything like that. I looked pretty good but definitely didn't have the definition that I could've had if I did. I was about 125lbs throughout that entire time. I was known as the McDonald's queen... mmm... McDonald's... my old distant friend.

I completely quit doing any sort of physical activity when I got pregnant with my first son b/c I had experienced a miscarriage a year prior and was afraid it would happen again. I gained 70lbs!!!!!! After the pregnancy I only lost about 30lbs and didn't really care. I dealt with some PPD and when my son was 18mo my husband was diagnosed with PTSD from the war and so the time in between pregnancies was probably one of the toughest times in my life. Actually, I found out I was pregnant with our second son when my husband was in the hospital! I gained 36lbs this pregnancy.

After having my son, knowing I was shutting down the baby factory for good (not official but I am so done!), I HAD to feel like myself again. When I saw that I was 194lbs a short while after giving birth I freaked out and started dieting big time (a bit too much!). As of this morning I weighed 145lbs and am slowly starting to up my calories as I was eating way too little for that time frame. I also took my BF and it was 31% I was eating no more than 1200 calories and breastfeeding so I was in a huge deficit. Right now I'm at about 1600 on my quest to get to about 1800 thanks to the advice of some of you wonderful ladies here!

A few things I have to work with is that my diet has been tricky since my son is allergic to dairy and soy (was hoping he would outgrow the dairy early on but then I found out about the soy!) and therefore I can't have either. I has forced me to basically cook everything from scratch and since I'm making everything from scratch anyway, might as well make it healthy! I didn't realize EVERYTHING had soy in it!

My initial goal is to get down to about 130lbs and 16-18%BF, really depends on how I look when I get around there since I've never actually tried to trim down like that before so I have no idea what to expect in that aspect.

Another thing is that I am working on getting my NASM CPT and should be ready to take the exam before the end of the month!!!

If you read through all of this thanks! And I look forward to getting to know all of you! (yes, I use a lot of these !!!! and I am that way in person too...)
