Hello Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have ever used a salt substitute and what your experience has been using it? I discovered a salt substitute at Walmart this afternoon called, "No Salt" and decided to give it a try. I'm trying to cut down on my sodium intake and thought this product would aid me in doing so. It pretty much has no calories, no sodium and 650 mg in potassium.

Heya Cynthia,

I use salt substitute everyday.....mine is potassiumm chloride for the most part and 13% actual salt. I too have a problem with the salt shaker, so I am trying to wean off it.....I just always need salt salt salt.... For example, I use the substitute in the actual COOKING process, and then on top of my food I'll use a little bit of the normal stuff. I tried going cold turkey altogether, but it didn't work, it was awful, so I am hoping gradually my taste buds will need less and less sodium to find my food tasty again. I think they have lost some sensibility :-( OR I am trying to somehow compensate my extremely low blood pressure and my body calls for it.....dunno ?
