I was past all the "poster" BS back then, but man, she did make an impression on millions of Americans. Men and women.

At least she's out of all that pain. But what a sucky way to go.

Still, I have to wonder if it's better to live a short, bright famous life than a long, dull, nobody one.
When I croak, people on forums all over the world will NOT be posting about it, unlike her.
She'll live forever, in a sense.

Agreed at least she's past the pain now and RIP.

I think if they needed a picture to go with the word "beautiful" they could pick just about any picture of Farrah from back in her Angels days.

"Charlie's Angels" came on TV when I was in college. We quickly decided it was the best show on television to watch with the sound off.

I remember one of my dad's friends gave him the famous poster . . . I forgot that she was only on Chrlie's Angels for a year. Made a tremendous impression. Rest in Peace.

This is sad. She was an icon, and lived her life, and died, with dignity. Thankfully, her suffering is over. Condolences to her family, may she rest in peace.

My brother had that poster. *sigh* :(

Now I can't get the theme from Charlie's Angels out of my head. Sirius-XM 7 sometimes plays a quick little radio station style "bumper" that is a tribute to that show. I heard it again shortly before it was announced she had passed. :(

According to the internet movie database, she was on for 29 episodes between 1976-80. I felt the need to post here because the MJ threads are just all over the place- due in part to the sensationalism that seemed to define his life. Farrah, on the other hand, lived a comparatively "normal" Hollywood life, and was laid low by a rare and horrible disease. I suspect its probable that MJ's demise was at least partially, and I suspect accidentally, self-induuced.

I was reading an article about that Farrah poster and how iconic that image became. They distributed it out of a business in a little Ohio town called Chippewa Lake. Anyway, the article discussed WHY that poster took off like it did. Was it the hair? Was it the smile? Heck, alot of other beauties were picured before with beautiful hair and great smiles!

Well, the author concluded that it was a combination of factors, but one factor "stood out" the most. One specific thing about that poster seemed to really capture the fancy of those who viewed it...particularly boys and men who viewed it. In fact, from that time on, models would employ a specific technique to "ready" themselves for a photoshoot. They called the techniqued "Getting Farrah'd."

What certain thing is so mesmerizing about her in that poster? (I mean in addition to her great smile and beautiful hair)

AND...what technique do current models use to "Get Farrah'd?"

Was it the nipple?

She was a beautiful woman.

It WAS the nipple! The nipple that launched 4 million posters! She was a beauty! God bless here. I'm a big fan of any woman who decides to walk around all "Farrah'd" up. As a good look, the nipple beats the hell out of the camel toe...at least for me.

If you had a copy of Farrah posing nude in Playboy, you'd notice that she had HUGE nips. I agree, she was a beauty. It's a shame that MJ has taken the spotlight from her. I'm sick and tired of hearing about his death. The man died of a drug overdose, SHE died from a courageous battle of cancer.

Well, now, I'm on a quest. I thought she only posed for Playboy with clothes ON! I didn't know she did nude shots for them.

Yep, she posed nude twice: in 1995 and 96.
