I'm not entering a bodybuilding competition or anything (I'd love to in the future, but def. not now, I have a herniated disk and am really limited on what I can do), but I really need help with razor bumps and I figured you all could help. The reason I want to get rid of my hair is I'm 17 and I've got thick black hair on my back and my damn upper arms and if I don't shave my upper body I look like some kind of animal or something and I can seriously pick up ladies like 5x easier without hair. I've tried shaving and trying to regulate the bumps with pretty much every product I could think of (gigi no bump rx, tend skin) and it works for a day or two then I start to get bumps, and then I start to get stubble everywhere and my hair grows back really fast and the bumps are too sensitive to shave again.

I've tried the NAIR and VEET stuff and I would have to say it works the best, but I usually have some spots that don't get fully removed by it, and if I leave it on longer I get really irritated. Razor bumps come with this too, but less than shaving. And the hair grows back a little slower.

I've tried waxing myself and first of all it sucks. It's really hard to do right and it hurts. Second of all, I just can't get everywhere. I'm too cheap to have someone do this for me, and I would feel pretty gay too. I still get bumps like the NAIR, but alot less.

If you all have any ideas for me since it's summer and I wanna go to the pool without bumps or looking like a beast it would be greatly appreciated.

How in any way does this deal with IFBB?

I would highly consider it. However I'm not sure if the price is really worth it. Also since it is 100 percent permanent, it kinda freaks me out. I mean what if beastly hair becomes the thing that everyone wants in 10 years or something? Or it's the new thing in bodybuilding? Or I fall in love with some wierd chick and marry her that loves chest hair? I mean I know all of those are highly unlikely, but it crosses my mind. I wish it was cheaper and only lasted 5 years or so. Do you know how much it would cost for me to do something like this on my upper back, upper arms, shoulders, traps, and my chest and belly? I'm guessing alot.

It doesn't. I figured the misc would just make jokes, the teens would be like wtf? and you all that compete all have to deal with hair removal.

edit: Sorry I meant to post this in contest prep. I mixed the two up. If a mod feels like moving this it would be great.

I will try it. Thanks, repped. The only thing is that the reviews kind of sound like it'll be like tendskin. Which worked, but not good enough to clear up all my bumps. I'll definitely try it though because it's just another inexpensive product.

Montell Williams mentioned about 10 years ago on his show to buy a "buff puff" and to shave and go over the area with soap. The fibers of the buff puff lift the hairs and then they are out for shaving. The buff puff is sold in the neutrogena, skin, acne products section. My face is smooth so i can attest to it.

i dont know the prices. never done research, as I dont have back and trap hair and my chest hair grows only in a lucious V down to my ball fro.

but if I was in your shoes, I'd focus on traps, back and shoulders... without a doubt. i'd never want to deal with it in those spots. the rest you can handle with a razor or let little asian women wax it for you (which is much MUCH different than tryign to wax yourself and probably cheaper in the long run because it doesnt grow back as fast).

alright man, thanks. The pro wax job doesn't sound too bad. I really might try it on my whole upper body and as a fix for my traps and back and stuff until I figure out about laser hair removal. I mean buff puffs and all this other stuff will probably end up costing more if I try everything. I may try a buff puff first though. Any other ideas are definitely welcome.

use clippers like that you would shave your head with but don't use any attachment and put it on its shortest setting.

It won't get rid of the hair but it will make it so short it will look good.

Now, i know there will be a bunch of guys raising their eyebrows about this post. However, you cant argue with something that works just because it is named Coochy Cream. My wife purchased this stuff a while back for her bikini line. After a month of her raving about it, I tried it out on my chest. My skin is EXTREMELY sensitive and razor burn is something I have never been able to avoid. Basically this stuff is just a heavy hair conditioner that softens the hair and helps prevent those annoying razor bumps. You may feel a little less manly at first, but you wont be complaining after you see the results.

It's worth a try!

Trust me, it's so worth it!
I was given a gift certificate last Christmas. After the first treatment, the hair takes so long to grown back and is so thin. I only get my underarms and full bikini...it was $1600 for 6 treatments, so that's a whole year (you go back every two months). And after the 6, I shouldn't need it anymore. I used to get ingrowns and bumps, and now I never ever do. You still shave between treatments but the hair is so thin, and barely even grows back.

My boyfriend gets it on his back, chest, and arms. I'm not sure how much he pays though. Honestly, its SO worth it.

But in the mean time...I somehow discovered that polysporin works really well on ingrowns and bumps. Usually you are supposed to dry them out, but I found that if I put polysporin on before I went to bed, the next morning they seemed a lot better.

I've never really thought about that. Not a bad idea.
