okay hello teen section!! im taylor im 18 years old and i competed twice this year for the first time in my life. I learned a TON especially when it comes to dieting. I know a lot of the teens on this forum are trying to gain muscle mass, now that i am in my off season, i will give you guys an idea of how i eat and train to gain muscle. i leave to boot camp for the airforce in about 4 months so im trying to put on as much muscle as i can before that. My next show is April 2010 so plenty of time to grow. I hope this helps those trying to add some pounds onto their frame. Ill have pics up shortly. My first show was april 18, 2009 very well conditioned. stats for that... all measurements in inches cold and flexed

today im resting that is very much needed, so here is my training yesterday and what i ate.
i weighed 181 at the gym. back and traps day, food was this. this is a fairly typical days diet...
breakfast
1 cups oats
1/3 cup craisins
2 cups 2% milk
4 egg whites
3 whole eggs
meal 2
5oz chicken
1 cup brown rice
meal 3
6oz sirloin
1 sweet potato
meal 4
mass gain shake
2 scoops whey
2 scoops ice cream

i follow the fst 7 routine so my last exercise of a certain body part i do 7 sets with 30 seconds of rest inbetween sets stretching and flexing inbetween. this is a basic example of my split.

post workout i had 16oz pomegranate juice and 1 scoop eas 100%whey and 1 scoop dymatize elite 12 hr protein

seated leg curls 3 sets or 15 reps with 75lbs
standing one leg curls 60x15 80x12 100x10
stiff leg deads 205x10 for three sets
lying leg curls 5 sets with 80 (couldnt get the 7 sets due to tendon pain behind right knee)
leg extensions 2 sets of 30 with 50lbs
barbell squats ATG 185x15 for three sets (didnt go heavier due to pain in right knee)
leg presses (one legged) 3 sets of 12 with 5 plates per side
walking lunges 8 reps per leg 45,50,55, last set only 6 reps per leg
leg extensions sets 1-5 with 150 sets 6,7 with 130lbs 10 reps per set
felt pretty good after, had a great pump and sweat going

anyways going to hit legs in an hour just at 1 cup oatmeal with 1/3 cup craisins in it, and 1 scoop whey. breakfast was 1 cup oatmeal with the craisins, 2 cups 2%milk, 3 egg whites,3 whole eggs. snack i had 6oz chicken breast and 1 cup brown rice, and for lunch i had a 6oz steak with 1 sweet potato. should be enough energy to crush my legs :)

formulas like that are rough measurements and obviously wayyyyy off.. and those were off my head, i dont eat the same exact thing everyday
carbs and protein have four cals per gram. That is not a formula, it is general nutritional knowledge. If you are eating 200 grams of carbs that is 800 calories. WTF are you talking about man? Are you counting ALL sources of protein and carbs (ie the carbs in milk, the protein in veggies and peanut butter etc) I'm not trying to be a douche bro I'm just trying to make sure you are eating for your goals :)

thanks brah ya im feeling it, really helped bring up some lagging bodyparts as well as overall size, strength and stamina in the gym. as you can see i train with enormous volume and ive become accustomed to it with time. try it you wont be dissapointed, the pump is out of this world

no i do them myself. I just raise and lower carbs to see what I gain muscle and stay relatively lean with. I think I've found the sweet spot now with what I'm eating. still pretty cut and 15 lbs heavier than a month ago so it's working :)

lol for incline it's not I guess hahahha. but 185 on bench is. I can usually get 225 for 10-12 fresh but my strength plummeted after the incline db's.

just finished it i had insane tingaling and good pump didnt feel much of the energy because i just finished a tub of sp250 so im going to wait two weeks before i take it again so that i get the most from it

ya if your used to a stimulant you wont get the energy if you were a stim virgin... but ya the tingles go away after a week or so of use, or they did for me atleast.
but good stuff man, gotta love the pump

well i took a day off two days ago because of personal issues and i blacked out in the gym the day before, so i did shoulders and tris today despite doing chest just yesterday. I was at a water park all day and missed a meal so i was very tired going to the weights and i didnt have a partner today so lifts were way down, but here is how it went...

i did like 16 today only cus I'm out of town and in a foreign gym with no supps and food has been off cus I'm in a hotel. normally Id get around 20ish. volume=muscle gowth in my book ;)

Wow man, you have crazy volume in your workouts. I've read that we should just do a max of 12 sets per body part but you're doing more so I guess if it works why bother. I've been slacking off this past couple of days and after looking at your gains, its inspired me to lift again.
Another thing, how long of a rest time do you take? Do you lift until complete failure on every set? What kind of chicken do you buy? I'm always confused on which ones to get. I've been taking ON 100% Gold Standard Whey, almost running out, any suggestions on which ones to take? I'm also taking Prolab Creatine Mono and EAS L-Gluatamine. And How often do you do cardio? What does your lifting schedule look like? It's hard to find out your schedule based on your posts.

well ive been doing this for awhile and eat flawlessly and a lot of food so i can handle 20+sets per body part and recover faster than most and grow a lot :) i lift monday thru saturday. sundays off. i rest about 1-2 minutes between sets, sometimes less. i lift to failure on the last set of that particular exercise. i saw your vid, nice progress, especially in your tris and delts. your supps look good, i wouldnt add anything except maybe a multi vitamin. i by foster farms chicken tenderloins, their smaller and easier to cook so i do like 3-4 per serving. im in the military so i run hills to stay heart healthy in my off season like 2-3 times a week after i lift. hope that helps man. best of luck to you

basically it looks completely normal lol. Nothing looks weird or anything.
i stared at them for like 15 mins the other day when i got the tape off and stuff because i expected something to look off but it doesnt. there is a bit of swelling / bruising but thats normal cuz im only 1 week post op, but i actually WANT to do a competition now that i got it out of the way and everything looks great. ill prob gets some pics up when i start training again in about 2-3 weeks.
and trust me im probably one of the most fussy people when it comes to this stuff lol..
with the knee pain, try stretching your ITB, quads and hip flexors. and use a foam roller every 1-2 days to loosen them up as well. worked wonders for me.

lol ya i saw you do lots of reps per set, any heavier and i fear injury, i dont use weight unless i have total control, nowhatimsayin??
