View Full Version : Members abusing the testing offered by companies

fitnfirm
06-23-2009, 04:19 PM
We have a member who applied for 2 testing opps on the same day minutes from each other . The member Pitching101 was accepted for both opportunities on 6/07/2009 but failed to choose just one log to run. He has had product shipped from BBS and NPL and only logging NPL. Pitching 101 sent me a PM stating he was going to be out of town and could not start his log until he came back, which was a lie seeing how he started the NPL log on 6/20/09 and kept me believing he was out of town until I decided to research posts to see if he was around yet. I have posted in his log for NPL asking him to explain and included a copy of his PM to me which you will see at the bottom, no answer yet but NPL did PM me asking me WHY I am posting in that log with information that does not have anything to do with NPL

If stuff like this didn't happen imagine the types of promos companies would be able to offer.

Unfortunately this happens way too often. It sounds bad, but most people I choose to run Nimbus logs are those who have been around a while. I have been took multiple times by people like this.

I had a guy Jeremy something who won a Blast promo as well as a Sportpharma log and skipped out on both.

I would love to share his shipping info with other companys to see if he came back as a different name.

Sorry to hear Kathy.

Makes sense why companies only pick qualified loggers from before, i really hate people who do this. Especially those who apply to every single promo, this is why i think companies should make a requirement to do one log at a time or something but even then who knows.

That is why I personally and I can vouch for Des too, pick ppl we know and trust, however we do roll the dice here and there. The other guys pick ppl they know too, however we do pick a few ppl we do not know, such as Cyde and Aries who were just getting started on this forum. Those 2 unknowns proved well worth the risk.

Personally, I hate it when it is time for logs, bc I gotta really vet these ppl out. It does get tiresome and there are outstanding logs time to time.

Hopefully, ppl will understand why the more well known posters are picked all the time.

Yes I applied for two (though I really didn't know I was breaking any rules) and got picked for both. I figured since one of them is only 17 days worth, there would be no harm in running the short one first and I really wanted to try both products out. I really did have a business trip but got back on Friday and already had a few emails from both companies since products were delivered on around Wednesday. Seeing how on top of everything both companies were I realized that the one company would not be happy to wait the 17 days for me to log a different product first so I made that thing up to give me time. I admit it was lame, but that's the honest truth and I didn't know what else to do in that situation. Sorry guys.

Habitual liars are pretty good at wrapping a new lie around one that has been discovered. I'm not saying that this is for sure the case here, but is common with those who have a 'truth deficiency'.

When I had that supplement trade with the guy who hacked my account, he wrapped many lies around ones that had been discovered. It was only when I got stern and didn't play the nice guy that I got my stuff.

IMO, a liar does not deserve graciousness. If he had been up front from the start and honest, then it would make sense to cut him some slack, but given that he's proven his capacity for deception, it would make sense to keep him on a very short leash and demand some collateral for his log which he has to finish to receive back.

It seems like there has been a rash of this kind of activity lately. People running two or more logs at the same time, people starting their logs and then disappearing after the first week, people updating their logs only once a week, etc.

I've noticed a lot more people applying for logs with less than 300 posts, maybe this is part of the problem.

I vote for blacklisting, but I've been in a crappy mood this week, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Have him paypal you the funds for your product, which you will promptly refund after he finishes his log.

That can be fraught with difficulties. A company could decide the log is inadequate for any number of reasons and refuse to issue a refund.

I preferred the martel approach to logs however.

1. Apply for a ****load of logs.
2. Commence with fake logs, sometimes quitting after a few days. But concoct some lamentable excuse to maintain good bro status.
3. Sell products on ebay that are only missing 1 or 2 scoops.
4. Profit!!

Like: When you submit everything to get a person blacklisted, you also submit there shipping info which will go into a mods thread were they can only see it. Then when a company is running a promo and wanting to pick someone questionable they can cross reference the shipping info with a mod.

Kathy, I'm surprised that stuff like this still shocks you.

You and I both know the kinds of low life boners lurking around on the internet. Supplement companies need to screen their applicants and appreciate the fact that even after said screening, there's nothing stopping these parties from taking the stuff and disappearing.

Veteran members who've established personal friendships are less likely to do something like this. But even so, it still happens. There was a very popular poster who ripped me off here. He was a popular member in the steroid forum and I went to purchase liver aids off him (NO steroids though - otherwise I wouldn't say this publicly). However, other people DID purchase steroids and other anabolics off him, tried to at least... he's disappeared off every forum. He saved it all up for the big dirty, had people wire him thousands of dollars and euros and completely disappeared from the online scene in an instant.

So while I've never had anyone steal supplements off me, they took advantage of my generosity and took my cash. I can relate to how you feel. A lesson to the wise would be to not part with anything you would be upset about "losing". If you're afraid about not getting a return on your investment, do not invest in sh*tty ass members of this forum :(

This is a very interesting thread. Im a new poster here on the forum and this makes me want to win my first log and get it up so people here can start to trust me. I 've been trying to win a contest to get the privilege to run a log. I guess i was naive because i didnt think stuff like this happend to often. For me at least winning a free supplement would be HUGE and i cant even imagine bailing out. I would feel guilty, but i guess some people out there are just scumbags.

Your best bet is to purchase a product and run a log on it. This shows that you can stick to it and also provides an idea of what quality of log you can produce. This is how most of us started. Once you show you can do it more companies are willing to take a chance on you with free product.

Too many new posters want the free product to log without putting in some effort first. I'm not saying this about you necessarily, it's just that I have seen a lot of new posters applying in many of the promo threads lately who have no previous logs. Some are even applying after the testers have already been picked. That tells me they weren't even willing to read the whole thread before applying. If they're not dedicated enough to do that, then I wonder how dedicated they would be to their log.

I dunno....kind of complicated, but...

Speaking only for myself, I absolutely want nothing to do with someone's personal info. I have access to enough as it is.

I would have no problem negging or blacklisting people.

It also would not hurt if in every promo people mentioned that only one log was to be run at a time, no competing products, etc. Not because people will actually read it, but because it eliminates dealing with a possible excuse should something go wrong.

In the last few months, I've seen that requirement listed in log/promos.
If its listed up front, in every promo, maybe it help to prevent the double-dippers.

Had to look into a couple where it was not, only reason why I mentioned it. I really do not read most of them, since I am not eligible to run a sponsored log. I am sure you read more than I do.

But yeah, as I said, it may not help, but it takes away the excuse of 'I didn't know'. If they can read the promo for possible free product, they can read all of it, IMO.

I find it funny when someone is logging two products at the same time (both sponsored) and then they say they can't tell which product gave them the great results.

That must make the two companies who gave them the product feel good about the logs.

Yes...I bought and have a full 6 pack here waiting and that promised review is one of the things I have to find time to get to in July, but I will. In this case, the review is taking forever since I had to interrupt training considerably (basically entirely) due to a variety of other factors which necessarily had to take precedence. Some of these have now concluded enough that I can resume training. Unfortunately, this also means I must re-establish a cardio baseline before I can attempt the Cardio Blast or anything I observe (aside from taste) will be quite meaningless...
