Well... I have to say that I didn't do as well as I wanted at my first competition but damn was it fun! Might not have vids up right off the bat but I will have pictures. My defenitley know what I need to focus on and what I have to do to do better.

Lemme start off with some pics.

Oh the farmers walk... I sucked at it, but I will improve!

They upped the weight 45 lbs from what we were originally supposed to do so instead of getting a good 7-8 reps I got 0. All good though, I saw some guys beast that weight.

Yoke walk baby! 400 lbs. This was my first time ever using it, defenitley should have trained with this in the gym. I am a tard for not doing so!

Deadlifts baby! The only portion of the competition I did decent. Tied for fourth place with 18 reps of 350 lbs on the axel bar.

Another pic of me deadlifting, I liked this one. Looks badass if I say so myself!

The stones... how I hate you. Again not enough practice. Really wish I didn't hurt my back three weeks before the comp. Felt fine all the way through but the weeks previous it didn't. Next year I will dominate!

Oh and JP... the tall guy behind the stones, is ginormous.

Thx! It was so much fun. Everyone is really nice, even the folks your heads up with. I am defenitley going to keep training like this. I'm doing 5/3/1 with an event day smacked in there I believe.

Push press. Much harder than a push press with a barbell!

ohh haha, i always wondered if it was harder or easier with a log. i can push press pry 240 or so with a barbell so i pry would've been in the same boat as you, with 0 reps heh

log is always harder than barbell because of the hand placement it uses more tris than barbell. and more anterior delt involvement as well. its a bitch

You would do alright, hard part is getting the damn log into position from the ground.

Thank you! It was the most fun I have had at a competition by far though.

Oh and JP... the tall guy behind the stones, is ginormous.

I was just gonna say that, before i came into this thread from looking at your avatar.

You mentioned that you didn't do as well as you had hoped to do. It takes lots of balls just do try something like strongman. Remember success is built on failures.

BTW you look swole/thick as hell, were you a bodybuilder for awhile?

Yeah... I will never ever piss that man off.

I have done bodybuilding off and on for a lot of stuff... hence the ****ty bench press. Plus I have naturally large traps. And thanks man, I'm not really upset about not doing well, just kind lit a fire and now I know what to do to train harder!

The guy in the red is Shawn from the 585 for 23 video. In this vid he was three reps shy of breaking the record 26 reps at 400 lbs on the axelbar deadlift. He got 23 for all you mathmeticians out there.

The last part... some badasses doing some stone lifting. These guys were lightweights competing in the Superheavyweight class. They still won the SHW. They are both top ten ranked in the nation for the LW class.

Advice on gettin the log up, once you get it up to the quads squat down deeper and kind of just roll it up your body. If works alil better if you've got a belly. It's almost a reverse curl.

Thx man. I dunno what I was thinking that day. They added 50 lbs onto the log press like right before the event. Most of us hadn't trained with that much. I had been training with 165-185 prior to the meet.

Lol yeah! I was so amped up at the competition. My bud shawn did pretty sweet. He's the guy from the 585x23 bench video. Obviously fake but is still an incredibly strong guy.
