I am interested in becoming a personal trainer. I live overseas right now and won't be able to use my certification here but we move in 7 months so I will be able to use it then. I am wanting to know if there are any certifications that I can do online....if so....which ones??
Also what is the best certification for me to get. Any information would be greatly appreciated....Thanks!!

I have NASM,,i found it very informative..I have been working out for 17rs and have had a personl training business for a little over two years..Over half of my clients are older and deconditioned,,and have postural distortions,,it has helped alot in that sense..I would recomend getting one of the top few certs,,acsm, nsca, nasm,, Just figure out what your nitch in the industry is going to be and choose the one that steers more to what you want to do..

That is a thread that has pretty much the majority of information on the major certifications, and which ones are best!

Hope this helps

There is no best certification

Whatever gym you plan on training at, just pick one of the certifications they accept and roll with it.

Just remember - it's what you do after you get the certification that counts. What you do after your certification will determine success or failure as a trainer, regardless of what certification you get. If you love helping others, you will succeed. You will not have a line of people looking to hire you as their trainer just because you have a certain certification.

Even if you go to work at a club,,any club will want you to have a reputable cert..every club will want certain certs..If you get one of the few i mentioned in the above thread you cant go wrong at any club..They will be a little more expensive than some 50$ online one,,but believe me you will get your money back out of it in the long run..And a cert doesnt make you a better trainer,,only hands on training of people will,,but it will most definately open more doors to get started in the gyms untill you can branch off on your own..dont sell out for a bogus one..
