Right now im looking at this belt - http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/sc...&CJPID=2185618

I want something that is very high quality because i plan on using it for a long time.

Right now ive got about a 34-35 inch waist/belly, the medium is 31-36inch and the large is 35-40 inches. Should i just go with the medium or should i get the large since ill be using it for a long time

reps for helpful replies

If you need very high quality i would look for Inzer belts. They're used by pro powerlifters worldwide!

Bad advice, you want a belt to push out on, not so tight you can barely breathe. Do not suck your stomach in.

I've never ordered a belt, but people I know who have them and ordered too large, just cut holes to make it fit.

What he said!

Inzer quality can only be matched by a small number of handmade companies that are pretty expesive. It will last a lifetime and then some.Prolly wht it's called the forever belt.

Bob Morris has been making powerlifting belts for 34 years. I've found them to be high quality belts. They are custom made and he would likely be able to answer any belt related questions you have. I've posted the link below.

I've never ordered a belt, but people I know who have them and ordered too large, just cut holes to make it fit.I'm already growing out of mine. I have a small waist and I'm I think I'll outgrow it the next time I bulk during winter. If there's room I'll just punch a couple of holes into it.

Are you a bodybuilder or powerlifter?

If a bodybuilder how far do you let yourself go in the off season?

At 5'9" I would expect a much smaller than 35" waist on a Bodybuilder. I'm 5'10" and at 34" but should be 31, Unless you are talking right at your navel line, where I measure 37 but should measure 32 or less

Im not really either, i guess powerlifter since i would like more strength gains.

Also 35.5 was measured right at naval line with stomach slightly bloated

Ok I forgot 15................right, lets try again.

Is your plan to get fatter or to get leaner. Do you want to be skinny and have abs or be fatter than that.

Just a guess but given 5'9" at 190 wit a 35 waist you are probably over 20% fat right now. Am I right is there some pudge around the belly.

OT but I hate it when people think BB's are weak. BB's are only weak when compared to powerlifters, and pound for pound I bet they are stronger at ramdom lifts than even them.

Right now im at a good weight so i dont want to get fatter and dont really want to cut because of football.

Im below 20, you just just make out the outline of my abs (i never do ab work btw). I think ive got a couple extra pounds of water weight

Also the 35 inch waist was measured with me pushing my stomach out (how it would be when squatting). With my stomach relaxed my waist is 33 inches measured at belly button

Then I would go smaller. You may outgrow it if you let yourself chuck up for ball but possibly not too.

YOu do want to push into it while using it but the fit should not be loose when you are relaxed either. When weaing one it should be tight but in no way constrict your breathing. The guys who crank them down are making a fashion statement not helping their lifting. That said it will fit tightly, more tightly than your pants belt if it going to do any good.

Yea i dont plan on gaining a huge amount of fat anytime soon.

I am going to go in the opposite direction than Tim said.
I would go for the larger one.
You are 15. You are going to grow one way or the other.
You can add a hole or two now. When your older and bulkier that forever belt will still work. That belt will still be good when your 35.

I was a 33 when I bought my first belt now im a 35 and had to buy a large so I have 2 sizes. Both of mine a TDS. I would get the larger and drill an extra hole if you need it but you will not if you plan to lift heavy.
