Ok ladies and gents ... time to check in. Haven't done it in a week or two (or three months) ...

I just don't post much because this is all a part of my daily routine these days and I'm just out there doing it.

I started the effort to get back in shape almost nine months ago. I've dropped 77 pounds of fat and have made some great gains in the lean mass department. My strength has come up considerably. One of my goals was to be able to deadlift 400 pounds by summer, which I'm able to do now. And on my cardio days, I'm able to run for 30-40 minutes straight with no rest now. Feels pretty sweet. I'll post some progress pics in this thread in the next day or two ... it's hard to believe how far I've come with all this.

Something both inspirational and tragic happened this past week when a fellow I knew was killed in a car accident. It happened that his final post in an online forum we both frequented was in a thread that I had started about taking care of yourself and getting back in shape. His post was so motivational and positive, I'd like to share it with you. It has motivated me greatly over the past week. You can read the whole story on my BodySpace blog here: http://blog.bodybuilding.com/torn8o

Thanks for all of your continuing encouragement and support. This forum was another piece of the puzzle for me in making a better life for myself and I appreciate it.

Just thought I'd throw the progress pics in here ... expect to get down around 200 by late summer/early fall. Really more concerned about muscle building and fitness than weight loss now, but figure if I focus on those, the fat will take care of itself.

Hey friend...Great Job! Inspiration can be found in a lot of places we dont expect. Making a permenant change in life for the betterment of yourself at times will impact others around you, sometimes without you even being aware you were the catalyst for that. Fabien would be humbled to know how he has inspired you! Your change has, I'm sure already inspired others around you!

Hey, thanks fellas. KC, I appreciate the encouragement! It's amazing when one person makes a change how eager it makes the people around them to do the same.

Sorry for the loss. Great progress. The iron is so addictive isn't it. Huge difference in B/A pics.

Thanks for sharing your story and the sad news of your recent loss. The progress pics look great and show the signs of your hard work and commitment. And by the way...your wheels are no joke. They are good and have the potential to be downright scary.
