Ok ladies and gents ... time to check in. Haven't done it in a week or two (or three months) ...
I just don't post much because this is all a part of my daily routine these days and I'm just out there doing it.
I started the effort to get back in shape almost nine months ago. I've dropped 77 pounds of fat and have made some great gains in the lean mass department. My strength has come up considerably. One of my goals was to be able to deadlift 400 pounds by summer, which I'm able to do now. And on my cardio days, I'm able to run for 30-40 minutes straight with no rest now. Feels pretty sweet. I'll post some progress pics in this thread in the next day or two ... it's hard to believe how far I've come with all this.
Something both inspirational and tragic happened this past week when a fellow I knew was killed in a car accident. It happened that his final post in an online forum we both frequented was in a thread that I had started about taking care of yourself and getting back in shape. His post was so motivational and positive, I'd like to share it with you. It has motivated me greatly over the past week. You can read the whole story on my BodySpace blog here: http://blog.bodybuilding.com/torn8o
Thanks for all of your continuing encouragement and support. This forum was another piece of the puzzle for me in making a better life for myself and I appreciate it.
