mma- today was more of a conditioning class
started off with about a half mile warm up jog, then did some sprints
we stretched out
then we started our circuit
-10 sledgehammer to tires on each side
-20 jumps into and out of a tire
-we had a stick attached to a string attached to a 25 pound weight and had to roll it up and down, that was killer
-20 squats on something haha for balance
-spin a 45 over our head 10 on each side
-then we went to the mat, started off doing some guard pass drills
- went over a kimura from side control
-rolled starting in side control 2 rounds of 5 minutes
- did a drill for stand up where we had to touch the opponents shoulders
-drill for wrestling touching the oppenents feet
- then we did wheelbarrows and variations of it for conditioning

shoulders + chest + tri's in one day? how is that working for you? Seems like you wouldn't be able to train at least 1 of those effectively with all on one day.

its not exactly what i would love to do, but i can only go to the gym twice a week so i had to split it up into two days

day1-shoulders chest tris, heavy abs
day2- back bis and legs

day1-dips or bench 2-3x6-8
incline press or fly 2x10-12
military press 2-3x6-8
skullchrushers or tri pushdowns 2-3x 10-12
heavy abs 3X10

day2-pullups 3 sets to failure
barbell row 2-3x8
dumbell curl 2x10
squats 2x10
deadlifts 2x8

il alter it a litlle or do both of the excersise options dependin how i feel

monday 6-15-09
today jorge wasnt there to give the class because he has a fight coming up on friday so alexis vila the other pro at our gym gave the class
i think this is by far the hardest class i have taken in my life
we started off with a .75 mile run
went inside and warmed up
then we learned from side control with one knee on the abdomen what to do when the person turns into or away from you, away is the arm bar or take the back, to you is you go into mount throw a punch person covers up and you get the "whos your daddy" position and keep punching or take the back
then we sparred mma, 5 rounds of 5 minutes
then we sparred 3 rounds by 5 minute starting from sidecontrol knee on the abdomen on each side and starting from one underhook
then we took endless amounts of shots, did conditioning drill, and endless amounts of sprawls

i cant move right now

tuesday 6-16-09

muay thai- warmed up got stretched out
did a jab you dodge the right and hit the guy with a leg kick, then we added a jab, and then a hook to the end
high kick front leg block and hit with a jab, added an upper
high kick back leg, block hit with the right, added a left hook
sparrred
ended with an intense ab circuit

bjj- learned the leg lock to sub brock lesnar with
then we did what we do once a month, a competition which is a lot of fun
we picked teams
it started off with a rolling, i lost my match :( got arm barred with 9 seconds left, however the guy i went against is a good friend who usually is a lot better than me and this time i held my own, we tied 3-3
then we did a game where everyone is on there knees except one guy(me this time) the people on there knees have to tackle the opponents standing guy, we won
then we did like a dodgeball type game but its the first person to get the ball, i won my round
then a takedown game , i won my round

then we ended up with 15 minutes of conditioning

side note- I am going to my first fight this friday

training stalled today, woke up very sick, headache fever and more, :/

Training stalled as in you took a day off? Hardly stalled training. Take the week (or 3-4 days) off and come back when you are feeling better. No reason wasting 2 workouts and 2-3 MMA sessions. 1 week is nothing - don't forget that when it comes to taking days off.
