So I'm currently chillin' in my room in Pattaya, Thailand--right down the street from Scorpion Muay Thai.
Got into Thailand last Tuesday, spent a few days in Bangkok resting up and then came to Pattaya by minibus.
Today was the first time I've trained MT in over two months. Lol, I'm sleeping well tonight.
TRAINING
-20+ minutes warmup (shadow and light bag work on my own waiting for training to start)
-2 rounds shadow with Kru Wit
-5 rounds pads with Kru Wit (3 MT, 1 boxing)
-3 rounds bag
Added after MT workout:
-pull-ups (x10, x8) (yes crappy, lol)
-situps on decline bench (2x40)
-pushups (2x25)
Increasing reps on everything tomorrow.
I'm outta shape and my technique is sloppy. I'm pissed at myself for slipping this far.
Hitting the morning session as well tomorrow; heading out to find a gym with weights tomorrow afternoon so I can incorporate that into my training as well.

ehh I'd say after all your bag work do what you can. Trying to hit specific numbers on your pullups, situps and pushups after working so hard earlier will only discourage you.
Do what you can and don't stop until your muscles fail. You can't have a PR-busting day everyday. I also think you should place emphasis on your Muay Thai and not the supplemental stuff at the end - you could argue that they're decent gauges of "fitness", but you're not competing in a pullup contest, ya know?
Looks like you better find that GNC asap :p

^ those will get your numbers up really quickly

Just out of touch with hitting things. Gotta get used to it again and then I'll be fine.
Until then, I'm gonna keep berating myself. :D

How long are you staying at Scorpion?
Im landing in Thailand on July 18th, and arriving in Pattaya on the 19th.
Already talked with Rosalie, and pretty much ready to get this thing going... now the waiting game lol
Scorpion seems to have a lot of farang, are there any thai fighters training there?

-2 rounds boxing
Supplemental:
-Pull-ups: x12, x8

Trained MT with Kru Phot. Dude kept ripping on my kicks. I was doing the same damn thing I did yesterday and he would not stop bitching at me about form; I still have no idea what he wants me to do.
Gotta love them good ol' Thai motivational tactics. :D
Elbows are still pretty crisp. Stoked about that. Knees are looking okay.

I trained with Wit instead of with Phot, so there was a lot less nitpicking.
My kicks this morning were fine. Dude was just on my ass 'cause it's what they do.

I eat what I can when I can, haha. :D
There's a restaurant up the road. I need to find out how to say "steamed" in Thai. I tried explaining steamed chicken, but it wasn't happening. Once I get that down things'll be a lot easier.

Rosalie will give you the hook-up at a resort down the street from the gym (about a two-minute walk, if even) called Sugar Beat. "Apartment-style" rooms are 13,000 baht a month; bungalows are 15,000. Regular maid service included, room service... Good stuff. You're not gonna find a deal like this on rooms at other camps.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10TH
Went in late for an extended session.
-10 minutes jump rope
-2 rounds bag
-Pads
--5 rounds MT
--3 rounds boxing
-Supplemental
--pull-ups: 10, 8, 6
--pushups: 40x2
--abs*: 50 crunches, 50 reverse crunches, 50 side crunches each side
-3 rounds clinching
*Abs felt wrecked today, so I didn't hit the decline bench.
Finally have a gym to go to--English dude from the gym recommended it. Hitting it up tomorrow. Wish I could've gone sooner.
1-2-left kick combo's giving me trouble. Can't get the distance right. Left kick itself is looking okay, though.
As far as hands--my hands suck, lol. Left hook's looking all right, though. Uppercuts need work. Gonna ask Phot tomorrow for more rounds on the focus mitts.
Feeling beat. Need to find some whey powder ASAP.

THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH
-10 minutes jump rope
-2 rounds shadow
-2 rounds bag
-3 rounds MT
-2 rounds boxing
Easy day today. I was beat, and Phot knew it. Said we'll pick it up again tomorrow.
Finally got to the gym. Downed one of these "WAKIE" energy drinks from 7-Eleven, sucked it up, and hammered my lats. Got a two-month membership.
They sell whey there. 7,000 ****ing baht (over $200) for a 4-kilo bag. Total bull****. Looks like I'm not buying any protein here.

An old trainer of mine used to tell me not to step out much because when you do that you give away what you're gonna do. Thing is, you don't generate as much power when you don't step out before you throw the kick. So it's down to that and turning the hip more.
For that price the protein should do your workouts for you.

--pushups: 50x2
--20 bench situps, 50 Thai situps
Much more energy this morning; sleep FTW. Left kicks are looking and feeling a lot better today. Right elbow's slipping a little bit; problem lies in the footwork. Left elbow's looking good.

MONDAY, JUNE 15TH
Hit the weights in the morning; Monday's bench day and if I'm not fresh for it the whole thing goes to ****. I hadn't hit the bench in three weeks before today, either, which was added incentive to stay fresh.
Weights:
Bench: 5x5 @ 235
Incline bench: 5x5 @ 185 (shorter rest between sets than on bench)
Cable crossovers: 10x3 @ 80 a side
Close-grip bench: 10, 9, 7 @ 135 (lol, fail on 2nd and 3rd sets)
Pushdowns: 10x3 @ 160
Threw a few sets of wide-grip pull-ups in there in between a couple of the exercises for good measure.
Yammer on all you want to about the setup and how it's detrimental and all that jazz. It works for me, it's worked for me before, and no doubt it'll work for me in the future.
MT:
-10 minutes jump rope
-5 rounds MT
-3 rounds boxing
-3 rounds bag
-Supplemental Bag:
--200 knees
--100 front kicks
-Supplemental:
--pull-ups: 9x2
--pushups: 50, 45
--abs:
First set
...-50 crunches
...-50 reverse crunches
...-50 side crunches each side
Second set
...-50 bench situps
My technique sucked today, lol. Don't know what happened this evening, but my kicks were crap. Left hand's looking a lot sharper, though.
As my kicks were terrible today, I devoted my three rounds on bag to kicks. 10 kicks a side, then switch. Good stuff.
Started supplemental bag work today for endurance; gonna bump it up some tomorrow.
Hopefully my kicks are better in the morning, lulz.

Still trying to figure that part out, to be honest. I was supposed to go and hit back today; didn't happen. Headache, muscle aches, general fatigue... Not a good evening for lifting. Will hit it tomorrow and legs on Friday.
Monday's bench day. I wake up in the morning, make sure to eat plenty, and hit the weights fresh. If I don't, the workout gets thrown off and as a result the whole day gets thrown off. I always make up for "lost time" later on, anyway.
Plan is to hit my back on Wednesday afternoons between training sessions and legs in the evenings on Friday after training is done so I don't have to worry about going to training with messed up legs.

So other than the pad work are the trainers telling you what to do as far as how long to skip rope or how many pullups/crunches to do or how long to work on the bag? Im sure it is different for you as you have been there alot longer than I was, Do you just do your thing till it is time to jump in the ring for pad work or clinching? The reason I ask is wit had me skip rope with those god awful thick jump ropes for 40min! each time I was there! I was so tired before I even stretched or shadowboxed. I remember hitting the fronts of my bare toes till they wre bruised cuz my calfs were so tired I could barley jump.

Lol, **** that, dude. Wit just told me to hit three rounds of jump rope that first day I went into training, so that's what I did and that's what I continue to do. Sometimes Phot just tells me to stretch out and jump in the ring.
Gotta love those thick jump ropes. :D I nailed my toes so many times this morning I wanted to smash something with a pipe, lol.
As for supplementals--most of the time it's just me doing my own thing. I rarely ever see anybody else throwing supplemental exercises into the routines, but it's what Wit told me to do, so I do it.

And also, a lot of my friends are asking me to bring them back MT shorts, how much do they cost on average?

Depends on the day and depends where you eat. Also depends on whether or not you're bringing protein with you. What's your budget like?
Don't know about shorts. Talk to Rosalie.

Tore it up today. Wit pushed me hard on pads--was stoked. He had me throwing doubles and triples on kicks. Kicks were looking sharp (for the most part), hands were looking sharper than they have in a while... Good day. :D
Didn't do supplementals because I was about to puke at the end of the session. Not that that's really an excuse, but it seemed like a good one at the time. ;)

Yeah, Phot gets a lot more nitpicky about technique and Wit drills you. Good to train with both.
I like training with Phot a lot, but it was definitely a nice change of pace to just throw until I wanted to sit down.

could be shin splints - you don't always get them from running.
what kind of surface are you jump roping on? you do jump rope a lot. try stretching your calves really good before and after your workouts - including your tibialis anterior:
http://www.dubinchiro.com/images/shin4.gif (on the left)
once the tibialis anterior becomes strained or too tired, the impact from jump roping will be transferred to your tibia bone instead of being absorbed by the surrounding muscle.
jump roping causes the same amount of trauma to your legs as running does.

Yeah - think about it.
You don't jump flat footed so you're keeping your tibialis anterior flexed the whole 10 or so minutes that you're jumping rope. That's a long time for such a muscle and it's most likely totally spent by the time you're done whether you realize it or not.
Without adequate rest, it can't absorb as much shock as it would if it were fresh. The impact of the jumps then gets absorbed by your tibia causing microscopic fractures and as a result, the pain you're feeling.
As long as it's not too painful you're fine. But, once it starts to really hurt, you should find an alternate way to warm up.
Stretching your shins (backs and front) and icing them really helps. So do massages. :)

10 minutes is usually just over three rounds--including minute-long breaks.
Maybe it's shin splints... But I'll be unhappy if three measly warm-up rounds of jump rope are giving me shin splints.

still - its the impact that matters. breaks don't cut down on the impact made on your shins.
it's just an acclimation issue. your body will get used to it. were you jump roping the months before you got to thailand?? ;)

Im not JK but I posted my thought about it on the thread. :D But OP was a bit harsh on the his comment about the training. The trainers are not bad, and they will push you hard on the pads. The money issue is my own fault and rather than stir any trouble, id rather finish the remaining weeks here and we'll see. Im kinda a bit upset that it has happened to other people though.

-10-12 pull-ups (dead hang with a pause)
-50 pushups
-50 situps on a decline bench
Then do it again, no rest. Rest for a few minutes afterward before shadow/bag/pads/whatever.
