ACSM Personal Trainer Exam difficulty level Versus ACE Personal Trainer Exam? [Archive]

Hello,

I am an ACE personal trainer and I am considering doing the ACSM personal trainer exam. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much harder the ACSM personal trainer exam is? I've heard it's a lot more comprehensive.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I'd imagine its a lil harder but also similiar as ACE refers to ACSM quite often. Maybe someone who is certified in both can chime in.

I would be interested in the diffrences to. I have the acsm fitness instructor cert. I don't think it would be fair to compair the two.

I havent taken the ACE but I've done the ACSM, NASM, ISSA, and CSCS and the ACSM was the most difficult of them all. Assessments, diagnostics, screening, and risk factors are biggies with the ACSM. Keep in mind there are semester-long college courses designed to prepare people for the ACSM exam.

Agreed. I'm almost finished with my AS in Exercise Science, and almost all my exs courses refer to the ACSM book.

Yeah the ACSM exam was probably one of the most difficult tests I've ever taken. I'm gearing up to take my CSCS and when I first looked at the material covered in the text, I realized I had to learn pretty much all of it already for ACSM.

Not really. ACSM is a bit harder. Not much. ACE simply has lower passing standards.
