Let us moderate our own threads

Look at what happened to youtube. After people could remove nasty comments and block people, youtube comments became much friendlier and more interesting. If we could remove nasty replies to our own threads people would soon learn to make more positive posts.

This would reduce the need for banning, which takes moderator time, reduces ad income and sometimes causes loss of business.

And would increase the number of complaints about moderation by a factor of 1000.

Every day we get reports about crap just because someone disagreed with it. So instead we would get reports about 'I tried to reply to his thread, but he keeps deleting my posts for no reason', etc.

I think it is a good idea in theory, but I believe that it is completely unworkable in many areas of the board.

Mod negs would definitely help with that. Bans don't mean nothing to members here. It's a like a badge of honor for most.

They would just cry about the OP deleting the post in multiple PM's to anyone on.

This place, or at least MISC, would be more a daycare than it already is. :D

As I had mentioned, mod or admin negs for cry PM's. Watch the PM's dramatically drop.
