Ok so i competed 1 time 2 years ago and it was a great experience but after that i got kinda burned out and took a break from the forums. Still lifted but decided to live up the college experience and dont regret it for one second.

So i have two competitions in mind one is a triathlon at the end of august and a bb show in sept or oct. I know that both of these do not mix but will see what happens. i will be the experiment.

finally i will be going out and drinking on the weekend just one day most of the time. Im 21 so i dont want to miss out on the experiences

This journal place to bulls**t and see me fail miserably haha

Why do you set yourself up for failure by stating your gonna fail before you begin? The mind is a powerful tool.

I did a triathalon in the past, before I trained competitively as a bodybuilder, and I didnt notice a huge interference with weight training. The cardio is somewhat catabolic, so I dont know how that will play out while dieting. When I was training for the triathalon, I was eating a TON. If I were you, I would pick a triathalon AFTER the bbing show so that you can get real lean without the excessive cardio required for the triathalon and THEN crank up your calories to prepare for all the running, swimming and biking. Just my $.02.

And I would probably cut out the once a week drinking when you get close to show time. 1 or 2 a week out with friends isnt gonna kill you, but getting drunk once a week and dieting for a comp dont mix.

yea your probably right but the bb show isnt 100% right now i am going to see what happens. Also if i start losing to much muscle ill cut down on the training

thanks for the input

The thing about a show is that youre in or out. Cant play the "well, MAYBE ill do the show".......unless you dont mind losing, but IMOP why bother in the first place?

Agreed - prep is going to get tough, and fast. It's not something you will want to be on the fence about when you start getting struck with waves of lethargy and late night hunger cravings. You're either doing the show, or you're not.

yo sean what up...
do what you do...and see how it works...i would def say pick one or the other or at least train for the triathalon with macros pretty high, and let the workload take care of leaning ya out...

don't know what you've been eating but they look sorta low now
