I have been doing this for a while and I was wondering if there is anything wrong with this. I am new to the forum and never realized that you needed to give your body a bit longer to recoup then I do.

Monday- Chest/Tris (Run about last 12 minutes)
Tuesday- Back/Bis (Run about last 12 minutes)
Wednesday-Shoulders (Run about last 12 minutes then do abs)
Thursday-Chest/Tris (Run about last 12 minutes)
Friday-Back/Bis (Run about last 12 minutes)
Saturday-Shoulders (Run about last 12 minutes then do abs)
Sunday- Off

Boy, if you want to become a man... you better start doing your legs. You want to achieve bigger arms... it starts with the legs. You want a stronger bench... it starts with the legs. You want to look better physically... it starts with the legs. You see what I am aiming at here. Without the legs into the routine, it is obsolete and incomplete. The arms do not have to be work as hard as the other muscles.

The legs separate the men from the boys. If you never do legs once in your life, you will never have the manly physique. I want to show you this link:

This might change your way of thinking for the near future.

6 on 1 off? Good luck with that. I guess you don't believe in recovery?

Wednesday you're working shoulders then Thursday chest which involves shoulders heavily. Good luck with that also.

Routine needs a lot of work IMO.

Also do legs greatly affect how big your upper body and arms get or are legs just important for proportion reasons

Hey overload what if I did 3 on 1 off

Working legs, specifically squats (and deadlifts on back day) will release/induce the most test to be released in your body. So yes, working legs will help make other parts bigger.

3 on 1 off is more manageable. I would't dedicate a day just to shoulders though. Your grouping still needs work.

I like push/pull/legs to eliminate overlap of working similar muscles.

If I do 3 on 1 off should I pair legs with shoulders

^^ That's a common pairing. You can do that and see how your shoulders recover before working chest again.

I know this is going to sound very stupid but is that workout only for beginners because even though my routine is bad I have been doing it for a little over 2 years now and I have seen results. I read the beginning of the workout and it says it is for people who are not familiar with benching or deadlifting and other things but even tho I have had a bad routine and have not done legs too often I believe I do understand how to do most things. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and I really do not mean to sound cocky with this in any way

Any routine that has major compound movements is good for anyone IMO. I would not call that just a beginner routine although that's how it comes across in the thread.

My favorite for those that have trained for a while is still push/pull/legs where you have a days rest in between each workout. I just do push/pull as I like more rest days so I added legs (depending on the exercise) into the push or pull workout.

I just train twice a week. That's it and it has worked well for me. I'm not saying everyone should train as abbreviated as I do but too many people around here train too often with too much volume. I see it all over the workout program forum.

Keep it simple with basic compound exercises as the meat and potatoes of your routine and you'll be better off.
